UFC 72 Victory PPV HDTV XviD-aAF

UFC 72: Victory was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The event took place Saturday, June 16, 2007 at The Odyssey in Belfast, Northern Ireland. UFC 72 continued the UFC’s expansion into Europe, as it was the third event to take place in Europe and the United Kingdom after UFC 38 in 2002 (Royal Albert Hall in London, England) and UFC 70 in April 2007 (MEN Arena in Manchester, England). The card aired on pay-per-view in North America and via Setanta Sports in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Martin Kampmann was scheduled to fight Rich Franklin, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. Yushin Okami replaced Kampmann in the main event. Jake O’Brien was scheduled to fight Tom Murphy, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. There was no replacement for O’Brien, and Murphy did not fight on the UFC 72 card. Immediatly after the main event it was announced by UFC match maker Joe Silva that Rich Franklin would fight the winner of UFC 73’s Middleweight title fight. from wikipedia

Thank you. Never seen a UFC post here before, but any and all of them are appreciated. Glad I saw this here before I thought to check online for fight results…now maybe I can watch all the fights fresh. Not knowing the results makes it so much more entertaining.

Good call. I’ve already got it, but this is really what people are interested in (at least that’s what PPV purchase numbers say). Thanks guys.

Awesome to see MMA on RLSLOG and I hope that’s the start of a new trend.

Unfortunately, UFC 72 was one of the worst UFC events in their history and was originally supposed to air on SpikeTV but they didn’t want it.

The next few UFC’s are gonna be excellent it will be cool if they get posted too.

  8. June 18th, 2007 | 05:20

This was always going to have a lot to live up to compared to UFC 71, but I’ll give it a shot anyway.

Pity all the really big names are still kept for the US cards, but I suppose they have to test the waters in Europe with journeymen (Griffin) & has-beens (Franklin). At least UFC 70 had Bisping & Gonzaga/Crocop.

Anyway good to see this on Rlslog – saves me searching on Isohunt or similar.

More stuff like this the better I say.

Anyone in here that actually exercises a martial art?

OMG – noooo… you start featuring MMA events and you begin with UFC 72? It was by far the worst PPV this year so far. :(

I hope you feature the next events as UFC 73 – 75 are packed with really amazing fights, at least on paper.

@Kevin: yea, doing Muay Thai, which is a substantial part of MMA in some camps, why?

    June 18th, 2007 | 09:22

Yea UFC 72 is not the best for beginning MMA enthusiasts. The next couple events however are certain to be highly entertaining.

Ok lets get this right when people say this card was teh worst one this year that normally equals to they are not aware of who some of the fighters are or the fights were no quick KO`s. The main fight admitadly was poor and maybe the Griffin fight (even though it was clever fighting considering they both recently got Ko`d in previous fights) bar that the fights were decent, a good KO and a few good technical fights. If anyone missed it during last week there was another event called Fight Night (another UFC event for up and coming fighters)had some outstandign fights on there.

“Anyone in here that actually exercises a martial art?”

Hahahaaaaa, right on the money Kevin! All these pussies here couldn’t survive a fight with a snail. Martial Arts is so freakin’ overrated too. Half of the time they can’t beat somebody outside the ring (streetfighting man!) and if they pounce on some poor defenseless kid they end up in jail (where they REALLY) know how to fight). Face it, martial arts is gay.

I stopped paying attention to UFC because all the pre-fight bs put me off, it’s just like pro wrestling. Will check this one though, hopefully it’s not too bad.

I am suprised you got past the spam protecion…

lmao,i take it you are serious. Go and do some research before you post because you sound retarded. Alot of these guys actually started out on the street but then moved to mma. “Prison where they know how to fight” lmao ffs just because you go to prison does not meen you can fight, secondly there has been numerous so called street fighters look at Kimbo and they have got fucked up. You sound like a 10 year old kid whos know fuck all…..Obviously

MR. X!! only problem is that you gave away the outcome of the Main Event in your description. Look at the the very last sentence of your show description.

  21. June 18th, 2007 | 15:21

so this is a video where two adult man hit each other for no reason ?! yea sounds uh .. not so interesting …

but it seems a lot of people are interested so keep posting :p

  22. June 18th, 2007 | 15:23

UFC started sucking after they added all the rules. I really liked Royce Gracie, Tank Abbott and Ken Shamrock when UFC first started. No time limits, no rules that was good stuff now it’s all hype.

@crimson, this isn’t two men hitting each other for no reason, they’re involved in a physical competition and that’s what it’s all about, raw competition like running or throwing. I can understand why you don’t like it but you don’t need to be so derogatory.

Great to see some MMA on rlslog!

Hope to see more of this. I usually use wrestlingdupe (http://wdupe.j0ker.net/) to check for MMA releases, but rlslog is of course much nicer :)

Hope to see more MMA related releases announced on rlslog, like the TUF episodes, more UFC events and UFC Fight Night events.

Its great that your posting UFC torrents! I hope you continue to do so too… but in the future please dont mention any results in your write ups! I havent had a chance to watch this yet and I can only assume by your last sentence that you have given away the result of the main fight! Im very disappointed, you should know better than to post spoilers!

This gay fighting with grabbing and rolling on he floor like girls sucks. Boxers would kill these clowns.

  29. June 19th, 2007 | 05:20

The reason why I asked was because I’m very much into martial arts. After I have mastered at least the intermediate level op kickboxing I inted to get a little into Grav Maga. Combining kickboxing and grav maga is like the ultimate weapon for both a good fight and a street fight. Anyways, it’s good to have a Muay Thai fighter in here as well, the only difference is that he uses his elbows which is not allowed in kickboxing. ;-)
