I download Freight Tycoon it doesn’t load. It constantly freezes!
Freight Tycoon doesn’t work on Vista. Missing DirectX 9 or something and I have it installed.
Freight Tycoon doesn’t freeze on Vista AND it works! But it takes ages to start 5 to ten minutes sometimes just wait and you’ll see

“Tycooner” The upgrade button will not show sometimes. when you have enough money to upgrade click on the office and click on the box where it says how much money you need to upgrade to next level or the button next to it, then the Upgrade button will appear. Hope it works.

hey mk thanks for the help with the office upgrade. about the sound problem i had that as well. what i did was i reinstalled the game, when you first start the game there is a box that pops up that comfigures your video+sound card. i checked the box where it says always start config on startup or something like that. this means i’ll always have to go through config everytime i start the game but for some reason the sound works this way. if it still doesn’t check out the sound config tab one of those is probably works. I’m not sure if I had to play with those settings but making sure that config pops up in the beginning seemed to work for me.
Yes, Freight Tycoon eventualy starts, just be patient.
However, the sound problem is just what Tycooner said, has to be configured each time you star the game.
Also I have never managed to save anything inside Tycoon. I did the tutorial, but it idn’t showed up as done. I save the game but can’t load it, because it was never saved.
All these points to one thing. Tycoon was programmed in a crappy way that don’t use the security tokens in Windows. Since Vista is very kinky on this point it seems like Tycoon don’t have the righ to save anything.
I guess we are doomed since the forum on 1C id full of dissapointed users that didn’t get any help.

Here is the Patch that fixes the loading issues in Freight Tycoon.

The official Vista Patch does not work as it does not recognize that the game is installed…
There was a batch file made by someone that extracts the files of the official patch, and apparently only this DLL file is needed.
So this DLL is from the official patch, simply replace the original "Tycoon.dll" in your installation folder with this.
Hope this helps, it's simplest way, and it works.
