TurboPrint v1.96-4 Linux-DVT

Turboprint is a Linux application that allows you to use printers that aren’t supported or that do not work with the default linux drivers. I have been using this application for 2 years now, which I have a legitimate license for. Buy the app, it’s worth it if you need to print on linux and don’t use a supported printer. Yes, and I’ll be covering more Linux 0day if and when they are released
. Thanks to luxter for letting me steal his download links!

TurboPrint makes it possible to use the latest color printers with Linux. It is designed to produce maximum quality photo prints as well as high-speed text documents. Printer set-up and configuration is as simple as on Windows or MacOS.
TurboPrint benefits from more than 10 years’ know-how and experience in printer driver development. Includes drivers for almost every Canon, Epson & HP and many Brother printers (see supported printers)
RLS NAME: TurboPrint.v1.96-4.Linux-DVT

great initiative, we need more 0day linux releases
@ ent d00d i think it was. Thanks 4 the linux apps too
Thanks Mr. X!! More Linux 0day apps please!
Seems pretty nice but no Xerox drivers? The CUPS drivers that are included with my printer don’t work at all but there is Samsung clone that has compatible drivers, they’re not the greatest quality though. Too bad TurboPrint doesn’t do any Xerox printer drivers.
Downloading anyway, might be handy
I thought all software for Linux was free and open source? Why should I pay, and why hasn’t anyone developed a free version of this?

Linux? No thank you.
Yay for linux releases! bring em on mr.X
@#6… The words “Free” and “Open-Source” are common terms as they are MOST POPULARLY used, but they DO NOT go together. This is also the BIGGEST misconception about Open-Source (OpSo) software.
The “OpSo” programs that you pay for have the source code available to tinker with like the “free” counterparts. But this is where it gets cloudy for me here (so, someone knowledgeable in this part, please help me), I believe it is up to the developer to determine whether to offer it for charge or no charge, or in cases where the program includes “closed” source code such as this.

Thank you for this, please can we have some more Linux apps posted?.
Good program, just discovered it a month ago.
Thanks for the linux 0day… Will visit this site much more if there is more of it!
Thanks! Needed a proper driver for my IP4500 and 300 dpi just doesn’t cut it when I need to print photos. And yes, post more Linux apps!
@6 It’s basically the fault of the manufacturers who refuse to make drivers for Linux and/or won’t release the source code. Market share and the cost of a developer are obviously presenting an enormous hindrance to provide a fully working driver. Release the source code, I say, and let loose the nerds of GNU! 6-8 weeks will be enough…

Linux….. whats that used for? I am sure I Do not have any use for this what so ever, but some people might….
Thanks! more linux apps are a great idea!
@6
Developing drivers is usually manufacturer’s task but on Linux is mostly done by volounteers just like about everything. Printers seem to be more tricky and there’s little free drivers. Nothing stops people from developing closed-source payware for open source operating systems, as long as they link against LGPL/BSD or similarily licensed binaries/libraries, and/or use their own ones.

Ewww….. Linux =/
i am glad to see linux rlses!
@10
‘OpSo’??? What you on about, boy. It ‘OSS’ (open-source software).
@10
TurboPrint is not open source software.
Not all linux softwares are opensource but those softwares that use an open source compatible licence like GPL they HAVE to release the source.
As i said not all linux softwares are opensource, some examples are maya, matlab, nero or games like doom and unreal.
Nothing cloudy…
FOSS ftw.
free means free as in speech, not free as in beer. pre-compiled, ready to run binaries can be sold for money. support for software can also be sold for money. all source code released under or derived from GPL work must be available to anyone for use and modification under same license.
more linux 0day! especially cedega.
I dont run linux so this is useless for me but its good to see rlslog posting stuff for everyone even if its not to popular.
great. i am new linux user
thnx
wow. incredibly useful. there is a link to a mac version too and there is a free edition as well, that i have just installed. More linux stuff!
@#6 like others (#10,#16) told you, creating drivers for HW is mostly done by volunteers. But they need to have the technically correct very-very-low-level info for it. If these specs are not available then it is impossible to create drivers for it. Sometimes you can do some reverse engineering to figure it out… or you can obtain the specs if you sign an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement)
Some HW manufacturers don’t want to give you the specs since they are afraid that the competitors can then figure out how they implemented certain features (think NVIDIA and their closed source binary drivers!)
So a company like ‘turboprint.de’ can sign those NDA and distribute a closed source binary-only driver. They save the printer manufacturer the costs of developing a linux driver them self and can make a small buck out of it. A win-win
I have been using this for several years now, and in fact I find it a pity that it can be found here. It is cheap and works great. In most cases you can even economize by buying a cheaper printer and this driver instead of buying a better supported (==OSS driver available) printer of a higher price class company.
Ofcourse I would prefer it if the specs were released and a real OSS driver was available but I don’t want to fork out a few hundreds Euro
for an OS that I don’t use, simply to be able to print with the printerdriver they gave me on the accompanying CD of my printer
Clearly we are experiencing a lame start to the year LOL
Nice, a program for Linux! More of that please:-)
holy crap. is that screenshot from gnome version 2.
gnome 1.x :p
really really old screenshot
Nice to finally see some linux apps, more of that in the future please
Cedega releases especially appreciated as well as nerolinux.
Anybody know where the keyfile is in this package? I can’t find it anywhere…
Thanks
Printing is not my thing but more Linux apps please, always welcome

Try Ubuntu now and say goodbye to viruses. n00bs welcome at http://www.ubuntuforums.org
Thankx, always nice to see linux program’s
Did you guys even try the software? There is no key file to register it…
Useless !! No Key file.
Reading the nfo makes it pretty clear that this isn’t anything other than the install files. The keyfile they speak of is available only by paying for a license over at the turboprint webpage.
http://www.turboprint.de/english.html
Charging people for working drivers seems ridiculous to me
People will pay it because they don;t have any other alternative in linux (i run a winxp vm in linux simply so i can acess my printer and print properly) also ridiculous…
This time with a key
http://rapidshare.com/files/89799294/TurboPrint.v1.96-4.x64.Linux-DVT.rar
Big thanks to Stanke, my turboprint reset itself without the keyfile, so thanks for that backup. BTW the DVT release only includes the 64bit edition which is g4y !
Still no key in that file, any body want to post the key?
The key in in the .r00 file in the file posted by 39.
am i the only one being asked for a password ??? or am i missing something ?
