PreVail group released TS copy of “Tropic Thunder”, comedy with well know comedians such as Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and others. Nice and watchable quality – check out the sample.
Plot: In the action-comedy “Tropic Thunder,” Ben Stiller plays pampered action superstar Tugg Speedman, who is cast in the biggest, most expensive war movie ever produced. He sets out to Southeast Asia with a “Who’s Who” of celebrity co-stars. They include Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.), an intense, three-time Oscar-winning actor; Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), star of the popular gross-out comedy franchise “The Fatties”; multi-platinum hiphop-star-turned-entrepreneur-turned-actor Alpa Chino (Brandon T. Jackson); and first-timer Kevin Sandusky (Jay Baruchel). Soon after the production begins the actors are thrown into a real-life situation and are forced to become the fighting unit they’re portraying, in order to find a way out of the jungle in one piece.

Audio sounds like it was taped using a scanner or something. Breaks up/feeds back a LOT in the first 15min.
When it’s on this copy is watchable – definitely not great but watchable.
However don’t let the sample mislead you there’s some long patches of really horrible audio….

The sample looks like a really good cam version, and the audio doesn’t sound like cam audio. Which would make it a TS. A TS is a cam with line audio. And the audio is definately from an outside source. The only weird thing is that it does have a hiss sound, but that doesn’t mean it’s a cam audio. I think it wasn’t coded well.

Hilarious movie. There are so many references (many of which you have to be a heavy movie-goer to understand).
Terrible release! The audio is horrible! static noise louder than the actual movie audio. I dont know how you could of possibly labled this a a watchable TS!
I saw this movie in the theatres and it was gut-busting funny. I began to laugh even harder when watching others gripped by “the pc police” because they could not lighten up.
I never watch cams or TS. But when this hits R5 or better most of you will laugh your asses off.
Ok, sound is static-y from 3 minutes in to around 15 minutes. It isn’t constant, it comes and it goes. Also the audio is out of sync from 40 minutes in. It comes back into sync around the 1 hour mark. Other than that, its good. Prevail rocks again…..they are no Centropy, but hey…
I take it back this not a 6 for video, it deserves a 4.5. this is a CAM not at TS; camera is out of focus during the panda fight scene and a large portion of the right side is chopped off. Nice try Prevail, FAIL!

“Filtering” is not required for a Telesync.
The only difference between a “Cam” and a “Telesync” is the audio source – the latter having direct audio synced to the video.
For a TS it doesn’t even have to be LINE audio. If you have a russian vid synced with english cam audio it’s still called a TS, as a video source was synced with seperately recorded audio.

Don’t bother with this release. Video is watchable but the audio is some of the worst I’ve seen. First 15 minutes has a VERY annoying constant hiss sound. In fact most of Tom Cruise’s cameo (which was suppose to be really funny) is inaudible because of that. It also gets out of sync.

From the sample, it sounds like the audio was transmitted via ham radio. The picture is decent with some adjustments.

ok, sorry I rattled your cage, but (a) that makes no sense, and (b) that would be hard buddy since he’s been dead 7 years!! and I would put money on the fact that I’m actually a lot older that your “been around since BBS” self.

On more time: TELESYNC means nothing else but a cam video SYNCED with a seperately recorded audio source (TELE is greek for ‘distant’). Generally the audio is Line but it doesn’t have to be. The name TELESYNC proves it. Also if you look to the non-english speaking scene: In many countries it’s nearly impossible to get real Line audio (that’s why even dvdrips a often only MIC DUBBED). If some french or german people can’t get Line audio for DVDrips why do they still have countless TELESYNC releases? Because a TS doesn’t necessarily have to have Line audio! I have done a lot of syncing a few years back and can guerantee you this is the way most TS groups see it. Although that everyone thrives to get Line audio and stupid nukers regularly piss on the work of people syncing mic audio with foreign videos is out of the question.
