Trillian Pro v3.1.9.0-TE
Twisted Endz have released the latest version of Trillian Pro for you to enjoy, although this version is only a minor bugfix release related to yahoo logins. But if you are an avid Trillian user you should probably grab this. It comes in 4 archives, sizing up to be almost 10mb.
Trillian™ is a fully featured, stand-alone, skinnable chat client that supports AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, and IRC. It provides capabilities not possible with original network clients, while supporting standard features such as audio chat, file transfers, group chats, chat rooms, buddy icons, multiple simultaneous connections to the same network, server-side contact importing, typing notification, direct connection (AIM), proxy support, encrypted messaging (AIM/ICQ), SMS support, and privacy settings.

Can someone explain to me why so many releases are rar’d THEN zipped? I just don’t see why people would do this.
And, is there a program that can extract all zip’s and Rar’s together or something?
lol, i zip them up, so when you unzip them they are in scene standard, go cry to the scene if you don’t like how they do business, but you’ll no the response you’ll get.

No, there is no “one-click solution”. And like I said, its scene standards to do the rar thing, and I zip them so that they still comply with scene standards when they are unzipped.
@10 - That maybe one way, or another sterner worded reply might also be in order.
so is Rar a scene standard? or is the scene standard to rar AND zip them?

@13 - The scene standard is .rar, Lee simply stated that he likes to .zip the .rar files, and when they are unzipped they still follow the scene standard.
I used to use Trillian a couple years back but, then I discovered Gaim (now Pidgin) and I have never used any thing else since then.
Every time I download a file like this I am dumbfounded. I was hoping to get an answer as why people to choose to make the process much more difficult and cause the entire download to be a bigger file size.

There is absolutely no reason to zip up each individual .rar that I can see. If there is that is great and please let me in on the secret I am missing out on. Otherwise just rar the damn thing up and call it a day.
zipping each individual .rar file makes the file bigger, along with making it much more difficult to manage.
I an gonna do this with a 4.5 gig movie and 7,000 individual ,zip files each with a contained .rar.
You’re right, it is not necessary. Most warez sites just .rar i once, sceners rar/zip and sometimes even rar it after the zip. Making it very time consuming, think about unziping the same rar 700MB file more than once… it would take up to three times as long if it was rard zipd and rard again.. Very very time consuming if you add the amount of people who do that. think about how many people unzip the file, times the files unraring time x2 or 3, see how many people snatched the file, and times your time to that many people and see how much time was wasted.
sometimes ziping an archive inside an archice actually makes it smaller depending on how big it is. I had a 50mb rar file, after ziping 4 folders within it, it’s not like 48mb.

In response to a recently uncovered issue with Yahoo logins, we’ve released Trillian 3.1.9.0, downloadable here. We will be continuing to monitor the situation throughout the day, but if you’re impacted by this problem now you can download the new release from the link above. Auto update should be ready by tomorrow morning. We will update this post with any additional information as necessary. Thanks!
UPDATE #1: We are noticing an “error code 1″ message on occasion when trying to connect to the Yahoo network. We’ve tested this behavior with the original Yahoo Messenger (v8) and are also receiving login errors sporadically. At this point, it appears there is some maintenance occuring on the Yahoo side of things; please be patient and give them time to work through whatever they are working on. In the meantime, attempting to reconnect a few times seems to eventually allow you into the network.
UPDATE #2: The change that was made to the Yahoo servers that caused the login problem appears to have been resolved server-side. Strictly speaking, this means that 3.1.9.0 is no longer a necessary upgrade. We recommend users upgrade in any case, as the new build offers protection against similar issues should any arise in the future.

Its really not that hard. Its basically a 3 click solution.
Select all the zips - extract here - select all the rars - extract here.
Then delete all the rars and zips.
Its not rocket science and its not hard.

No when it is 4 zip files, it isn’t the end of the world. Annoying but not the end of the world.
I got nero 8 yesterday also, it had around 40 of these zip files, that was REALLY annoying, so most of the frustration vented here came from that.
Nonetheless, there is no reason to do it.
scene people get them in directories so they only have to unpack twice, reason being nfo and diz can be added to zip without having to unpack the app (big time saver when over 200 apps are released every day)
you do realise you can select to unpack more than one zip at a time…?

Does anyone know how to get IRC to work with trillian, I can’t find a plugin anywhere and it’s not in the connections list
IT’S SCENE STANDARD!!! Just think if you’re missing one file out of a 2CD movie and you dled it like a month before and don’t remember where you got it from. if it was packed originally in 100mb rars, then you’re pretty much screwed and you have to re download the whole thing again. if it’s in ~15mb files, like the standard is now, and one or more of the files are corrupt, missing, or whatever, instead of downloading a whole movie or game or whatever again, you’re only getting that 15 mb file. i’ve run into this more than once and it really is a time saver. thanks whoever started this system of raring :).

Extract each Part “a/b/c/d” THEN extract Part “1″ and it will find the other rar files. It wasn’t obvious to me at first and I assume other people might be confused.
