Kermiac , I don’t think you’re lazy, but very very smart posting that link to get referral points..
The only uncomfortable bug I’ve seen is when you turn off your PC without manually closing trillian… it will lose many contacts/connections.
hope that’s fixed
Worth mentioning about that link that compares Trillian with Pidgin seems to . . . well, I dunno what he’s running it on, but alot of the problems cited with Pidgin simply aren’t true. Also weird that he neglects to mention that his much-vaunted Adium is based on Gaim/Pidgin, heh.
Personally I use Kopete (and then I have Gaim/Pidgin on a USB stick for IMing on any PC I find myself at), but if one is using Trillian, I recommend the Microscopic skin; takes a bit of tweaking to work with Trillian 3, IIRC, and I don’t think there’s a newer version, but it makes the UI a hell of a lot less bloated. That’s one of the very addictive features of Trillian, the skinning I mean; for a fun time use a Windows 3.11 skin, hilarity ensues.
Been using Trillian since beta until now. For most users it is useless, however user that is having 10 or more MSN ids, or 20 AIM ids, or ICQ UINs, it is unbeatable. Compared last month that pdgin is taking a hell lot of rams that a chat client should be. (Using 10 ids simultenously is its strongest point bar none, in terms of manageability and stability.)
