Trackmania United - RELOADED

A little update on TM: United. RELOADED has now cracked the damn StarForce copy protection so now I’ll be getting the game too. It seems that all future SF releases by RELOADED, and other groups that use RELOADED’s SF Reverse Engineered tools, will now be cracked and ready to play without SF. Wish they’d done this a year or two earlier though, I’ve missed a lot of games because they had SF on them and I wasn’t willing to risk my PC for a game.

    Cool :-)
Love these people who cracked SF and deleted it from this game ;-)

Thanks for sharing this news, RlsLog!

That’s crazy they were able to do this so fast and still haven’t done Rayman Raving Rabbids. Oh well, they made this download almost 4 gigs smaller than the original SFCloneDVD. I will be getting this I just wish I knew this was coming out before wasting my bandwidth on that one.

Can You pls tell me, what do you mean “risk your PC”?

I know some stuff about computers and so but all my efforts to Google the term “xxx release blacklisted my v-drive” are with no result … can you just point me out to a tutorial or so? how does this blacklisting function? risk my PC … how?

  5. December 24th, 2006 | 22:21

yeah, it’s a full version, nothing more is required to play this. the original trackmania was also tiny, that’s because it doesn’t have any superb graphic, but a very good gameplay…

@und, Learn how to speak proper English, your broken English is a joke. SF is harder to get run than you might’ve thought. Chaos Theory anyone? Took about a year to get it cracked with no work around. You are not as brilliant as you thought.

  14. December 25th, 2006 | 02:47

SF games DO work. But they’re a pain in the ass and that’s the GOOD news when compared to the fact that SF destroys CD/DVD players as well as open a backdoor for malware. You obviously didn’t know that otherwise you wouldn’t be stupid enough to touch a SF game.

Without placing the cracked exe file i get the protection screen up after the loader and if i replace the orginal files with the cracked ones then i get a kernel32 error.

Dunno about you guys but i’ve tried install it 5 times now and been trying to get around this error and protection and nothing works.

Any suggestion on what i should do to get it working?

  18. December 25th, 2006 | 05:28

@Gyne: Did you get the fix?

@Okey: One of my DVD Writers DID die because of SF. And I wasn’t able to load up image files until I got rid of SF, then everything got back to normal. SF WILL screw up CD/DVD drives and you will not be able to fix them unless you can reset the firmware. http://www.glop.org/starforce/

    December 25th, 2006 | 06:59

okey - there have been many viruses over the years that can and will f’up your hardware. i’ve seen the results of them, from hard drives that can no longer store data to monitors that were fried. it’s actually not that difficult for software to screw up hardware. just have a program that tells your CPU fan to stop running and i’m sure it would do wonders to those older AMD’s.

  21. queef
    December 25th, 2006 | 09:24

Ok kevin, whatever you say, might it be all the shit that comes out of your mouth getting stuck in the drive? No offence chump, but i spilt pepsi on my cd drive. ALL OVER IT. And i managed to clean it up myself and it works fine.

As anybody knows coke is a electronics killer, but apparently a software app is more devastating? Bullshit. Show proof.

  22. ol
    December 25th, 2006 | 10:36

queef: read the forums about SF protection, you will see hundreds of complains all over the world. Its a known fact that SF can kill your dvd drive, because of excesive use on the medium inside. One hour of gameplay with original medium in the drive (SF protected) can compare to months of usage!

  23. ol
    December 25th, 2006 | 10:42

queef: besides, are your trying to look l33t just because you can clean the coke from your drive? Why are you comparing SF protection to can of liquid?

    December 25th, 2006 | 22:41

    @queef

you seem to lack basic knowledge on how a dvd-rom operate. certain reading operations will introduce excessive wear and tear that eventually will ruin your drive. sometimes sooner than later. the sf protection *do* impose some terrible wear and tear on some drive models that alter or halt the rotation of the disc when reading “illegal” data that sf rely on. i’m sure you can read more of this yourself if you google around a bit.

  29. HateItOrLoveIt
    December 25th, 2006 | 23:58

man everything for you guys GOOGLE keep fucking google on the side for a sec and use your dam head and if u know so much about sf protection so why you dont crack some fucking games
i used so many fucking games with sf protection cracked or not cracked or fucking original and nothing happen to my pc
@ kevin maybe your DVD Writer died because its time for it to die same like what happen with me bought new dvdr after one week i was burning a dvd and it died
so i tell u what if u bought a game with sf protection and fucked up ur pc so u should sue the company then , NO ?

  30. December 26th, 2006 | 01:14

@Queef: Coke and firmware downgrades, down to level of nothingness, are two COMPLETELY different things. Christ the coke would have to touch the HARDWARE itself, not the goddamn metal surrounding the hardware. SF downgrades the write/read speed of the drive and at one point it will be downgraded so far that it simply does not function any more. I don’t see how you can compare tech stuff like that to freakin coke that you spilled on the plastic covered side of your drive. I spilled all kinds of shit all over my keyboard and monitor and nothing ever happened, am I just a awesome with hardware as you are now? Total…fucking…moron.

    December 30th, 2006 | 02:38

Same for me. It must be something we have configured or a hardware incompatibility or SOMETHING… because the damn game works fine on my brother’s PC and he’s gloating about it all the time :(

Let’s at least compare our hardware/software, maybe something will be the same. I have:

    - P5LD2 motherboard
    - 3.0GHz P4 D
    - 7800GT

And this is the only stuff running that I can think of that might fuck with things:
    - Daemon tools 4.08
    - YASU (sometimes…)
    - Outpost Firewall

  46. Victor
    December 30th, 2006 | 07:06

    The game works perfectly. Serial Numbers: E47T-33TP-FRD9-HNMN-NWB PTWX-MCM4-HJYW-6G3R-TDA 57R9-JM74-MDW7-MKFM-369 T9R5-CYTF-K6NY-JFWR-FNH 39G3-XARM-CMNT-X33W-RY6
Dont forget to overwrite the original TmUnited.exe with the crack one after the installation or after u update the game.
Works on my PC! but the game isnt that fun, got bored after the first 5 mins.

Does your brother’s computer have SP2 while you are still using SP1?

  52. Mannis
    January 1st, 2007 | 00:21

    Does the online game work???

  53. Chuck
    January 1st, 2007 | 04:39

    No of course not.
There are people running VPNs as servers if you are that desperate. Or you could buy the game and get a unique key that’ll let you play online.

  54. percy
    January 1st, 2007 | 08:10

Sorry chuck, we both have SP2 here. Installed from a bootstreamed (i think thats the right word, if I remember..) CD rather than from windows update, if that helps.

  55. Chuck
    January 1st, 2007 | 09:11

You are indeed correct. I crazily installed SP2 to find out today.
Other problems caused by it aside, it doesn’t help.

Frankly the problem looks like what happens when you have a refresh rate setting program running on a game that need to set it by itself. (E.g. running ReForce=bad). Turning it off as well as the driver’s refresh setting made no difference.

I wonder where this is coming from?

  56. percy
    January 1st, 2007 | 16:12

    yeah what a shitter hey.

Doesn’t work on my gf’s pc either. The crazy thing is we both have 3GHz+ machines, I have a 7800GT and she has a X1800XL, and here’s my brother with a 2GHz piece of crap and a radeon 9700 running the game fine!

  57. January 1st, 2007 | 17:40

percy> i have the same problem as you. the game doesn’t start. i have a 7800GTX, amd athlon 4400+ dual core. I m so desesperate

  58. Chuck
    January 1st, 2007 | 19:43

I’d hope someone has contacted Reloaded and let them know their crack only works for half the people.
If there’s actually a way to contact them.

  59. Chuck
    January 1st, 2007 | 21:56

What version driver does your brother have Percy?

  60. Chuck
    January 1st, 2007 | 23:54

For that matter, does your brother have StarForce installed on his system from some other program?
I’m starting to wonder if this is more an internal crack than we thought.

  61. percy
    January 2nd, 2007 | 04:02

I’ve tried both with and without starforce drivers present (hooray for sfdrvrem). It could be a starforce version thing though, I will have a look at that.

I also had a thought about dual-core CPU’s and tried it with a process affinity mask, but that didn’t help either. Which makes sense really because my gf’s pc is single core - still, nice to be sure.

  62. percy
    January 2nd, 2007 | 04:21

Ok starforce versions.. I don’t have it installed at all. This is what’s on my brother’s PC - I’m not sure how to check the version really so I’ll give you a list of which versions it says in all the relevant places.

In device manager (click view - show all devices, and it’s under ‘non-plug and play drivers’):

    - Starforce protection environment driver (1.x)
    - Starforce protection helper driver (2.x)
    - Starforce protection synchronisation driver (2.x)
    - Starforce protection VFS driver (2.x)

File versions (probably what’s actually relevant):
    - windows/system32/drivers/sfdrv01.sys (1.37.0.0)
    - windows/system32/drivers/sfhlp02.sys (2.3.0.0)
    - windows/system32/drivers/sfsync02.sys (2.7.0.0)
    - windows/system32/drivers/sfvfs02.sys (2.13.0.0)

If anyone has those versions I’ll stop now, otherwise I’ll stick it on my PC and see how it goes. If it works I’ll zip up the files and registry settings so all of you can get at it too :)

  63. percy
    January 2nd, 2007 | 04:38

*frown* Added the files and registry stuff (which just adds startup services if I’m not mistaken), but evidently I’ve missed something because it’s not installing properly - doesn’t show up in the device manager and the drivers don’t seem to be running (confirmed not running - not visible in a hijackthis scan)

If anyone knows what I’m missing or has those driver versions already let me know!

  64. Chuck
    January 2nd, 2007 | 06:26

I’ve never seen anyone intentionally try to put starforce on their pc. It’s sort of like trying to catch VD.
If your brother has starforce he no doubt has (or has had) some other game installed that uses it.
Heck, just go and grab TM Nations, it’s a free version of TM but still has SF because Nadeo is crazy with the SF thing.
Anyway, be careful since it’s starforce for cryin’ out loud.

  67. Chuck
    January 2nd, 2007 | 16:00

I don’t think anyone has jrencat. There’s chatter on other sites (not just here) about this Reloaded release causing problems for half the people that try it.
I’d hope anyone who figures this out will share.

  68. percy
    January 3rd, 2007 | 09:14

    nah no luck yet guys..

Yeah I’m trying to intentionally catch starforce haha, but the main point was to try and get the exact same version as my brother has - no idea what game he installed that came bundled with it, but it was more than likely trackmania nations. Unfortunately I also had TMNations installed when I tried TMUnited and it didn’t work then :(

  69. tholed
    January 4th, 2007 | 03:32

the game worked fine on my 1.2 ghrtz pc! The for the serial given above!

  70. Chuck
    January 4th, 2007 | 06:40

It’s starting to sound like older systems run this better.
I wonder if it has something to do with newer video card features.
I tried using ATI Tray Tool and disabling newer types of pixel shaders, but that didn’t help. This is driving me batty.

  71. Raimi
    January 4th, 2007 | 10:59

OK, I have the same problem.
I installed the game, copied the crack and dll and entered the serial.
When I try to run the game, it just crashed….a window opens and then just closes. If I run it manually, it just closes, if I try to run it from the launcher, it closes + it gives me the boring “MS error Send/Don’t Send” window.

I then applied the patch, or update or whatever it is and it wanted the key again, so I just re-copied the crack and the same happens.

    I have
    AMD Sempron 2500+
    XP SP2
    512MB Ram
    GeForce FX5200
And I use the old Daemon Tools (3.47)

Since this is a wide problem, I don’t really think I’ll find the answer here, I’m just letting you know that there’s one more in the “non-working” club :(

    Rh

  72. Grimjaur
    January 4th, 2007 | 11:06

Have the same problem as Raimi, without crack that SF stuff pops up and asks for a key, after crack it just crashes. Tried with Daemon 4.08

  73. Grimjaur
    January 4th, 2007 | 11:10

Im so stupid….after reading Raimis comment a second time (after i reinstalled the game for the 3rd time) I saw “and dll”, and realized that i had forgotten the dll file all along….

    NVidia GeForce FX5200
    Windows Vista RTM x86 (Spanish)

  78. percy
    January 5th, 2007 | 10:10

is there a newer program like 3DAnalyze that you can use to make games think you’re running a different video card than what you’re actually running?

If we could just see what happens if the game thinks we’re using an older card that it’s worked with (eg. radeon 9700pro), maybe we’d get lucky…

  79. nycon
    January 5th, 2007 | 22:28

If you can’t get it to work, try changing the compatibility mode on the TmUnited shortcut to Windows 95 or so!

    That worked for me :)

  80. percy
    January 6th, 2007 | 03:39

Oh I tried that, believe me.

In windows 95/98 mode, the screen doesn’t come up at all - the process stays in memory and you just have to force quit it. In windows NT/2K mode, it’s exactly the same as normal.

  81. Chuck
    January 6th, 2007 | 06:12

It SEEMS like TMU crashes right when it tried to connect to the internet. ZoneAlarm says it’s 0.0.0.0 port 2350. Allowing and denying has no effect (neither does disabling ZA).
I’m behind a router with NAT and port forwarding makes no difference, forcing the real IP address doesn’t work, and turning off “check for internet connection” doesn’t seem to stop it from trying.
I wonder if there’s something to this.

  82. Raimi
    January 6th, 2007 | 10:35

You know what I don’t get…what’s up with the dll?
I mean…I copy it from the crack directory but it overwrites nothing :?
Could it be something with that? Maybe the filename isn’t correct :?

    Rh

  83. Chuck
    January 6th, 2007 | 20:33

I don’t thinks so. Dependency Walker shows that it successfully calls TMUnite.dll.
Things don’t go wrong for me until it calls ATI2DVAG.dll.
The thing is that’s an ATI driver part which wouldn’t explain Nvidia owners that have problems.
But it looks like an issue with dxapi.sys and/or videoprt.sys.
Btw, I do NOT know what I’m really doing… :)

    I have another PC it’s working on here - graphics card is a 6600GT. We’ve had a 6600 that didn’t work, haven’t we? Can’t remember.

After reading a lot of posts on this and another forum, I think that the problem is that the crack tries to access a certain memory range. For the people who have not gotten it to work, that part of the memory is occupied, thus the error message Win32 Exception : Access violation =>Occured at address 0×03D53F42 in the logcrash.txt file. Also, people have gotten it to work by uninstalling firewalls, antivirus programs or other services.

    Ok, I’ve got it!!!!!!

First if you are using ZoneAlarm or similar, make sure you PERMANENTLY allow or deny access to TMU. If you don’t it will pop up a query behind the game and lock you up.

Now to play if you get the pop up window that closes on you:
Ctrl-Alt-Delete, click the Processes tab, click to select Em_Exec (Logitech Mouseware Driver), click “End Process”.

Play the game. Please report if this works for you too.

    More info:
If this works for you, do this:
Open a new text document in notepad.
Copy this (change to match directories or whatever version of the logitech driver you have):

    taskkill /im em_exec.exe /f
    cd C:\Games\TrackM~1\
    TmUnited.exe
    Logi_Mwx.exe

This will stop the mouse driver, run the game, and start the mouse driver again when done.
Rename it as TMU.bat. Move it to your TMU folder, and make a shortcut to it from your desktop and/or start menu. (Because a shortcut doesn’t have to keep the .bat name and you can change the icon to match the game’s icons.)

    Doesn’t work for me either.
Tried running with/without crack with/without patch, without the crack it simply shows the wrong CD error, with the crack the process starts up, takes 90-100% cpu for some seconds, and then drops to 0. The process stays there and I have to kill it. Nothing pops up (except for the launcher if I’m running from there).

    I’m running XP x64, with a router, without an antivirus/firewall; pc specs: amd 3000+, x1800gto, 1.5gb ram.

I can’t find the torrent with the fix. :

The fix is just the update patch that you install before the crack.

Make sure you install the game, use one of the keys given, install the update (piratebay.org has the fixed version) THEN install the cracked .exe and .dll.

As I said above, see if you have em_exec (logitech mouse driver) running. If so end the process. I don’t know if that works for 100% of the people, try stopping anything non-critical and see what works.

Also interesting: I pulled out my old TrackMania Sunrise (that I stopped using when SF start giving me problems). I was going to extract the tracks to play on TMU and for laughs tried the CD-Key from it… it works. No kidding, the Sunrise key works on United. If you’ve got an old disc, try it for some online goodness.

    serious!? shit yeah.

I don’t have a logitech mouse though so I’m not too hopeful. I’ll have a go at stopping my razer mouse’s tray task and see what happens when I get home.

For christs sake.. I just bought it for $25 Aus. Save yourself some trouble and buy it. Half the fun is online anyway.

Well it might have something to do with how TM accesses the mouse. Any 3rd party mouse driver might make a mess of things.
I’d turn that off and if that doesn’t work just start killing any non-Windows processes till the game works… that’s what I did.

Mudguts: It’s not the price, it’s the invasive/damaging copy protection. People with legitimate copies are using the cracked version and playing online without worrying about their computer getting thrashed.

Well, didn’t work for me :(
I did manage to bluescreen my pc though haha

Dependency Walker (great program, thanks for the info) tells me it crashes at NV4_DISP.DLL
Wonder if the following memory address is the same for everyone:

    Win32 Exception : Access violation
    =>Occured at address 0×0338AFD2
The thread tried to write to the invalid address (data) 0×00000000
    eax=0×0338AFD0 ebx=0×00000000 ecx=0×00000000 edx=0×032A0608
    edi=0×00000000 esi=0×0338AFD0 ebp=0×0012FD90 esp=0×0012FD6C eip=0×0338AFD2

I think Jeomis (post 85) nailed the problem.
It’s trying to write to a memory address that something else is already in. Shutting down all non-critical or non-Window processes one at a time found the problem for me.
The question is was it Reloaded’s sloppy coding or Nadeo.

Another possible fix - the PC it was working on for me had forceware v81.85.

If you have an nVidia chipset, try downgrading your drivers and see if that helps. I haven’t tried it yet but I’ll get to it.

    *sigh* nope.
Somebody out there just really, really doesn’t want me to play this game.

Actually I was pretty sure they didn’t want ME to play this game.
The best I can say is make sure you have the newest video and audio drivers for your system, the newest DirectX (December was the last release), turn off non-vital services, turn off anything that isn’t involved in making windows run (that includes that stupid little Nvidia service (people have problems with it), in fact try swapping your mouse.

I was having the issue of the game not running too. TMUnited.exe would load into memory and do nothing from there on. I’ve heard of all sorts of suggestions on things to turn off to fix it and tried it, but it still didn’t work. Then someone here suggested turning off em_exec.exe. I don’t have that but I know that’s logitech’s old mouse software and I have SetPoint.exe which is the new logitech mouse software. After I shut that down, the game worked.
