TrackMania United Forever-DETONATiON

Trackmania is an arcade racing game for windows which has grown in popularity immensly recently. The basis of the game is that you can build your own, incredible tracks and then race them with your car. I’ve only played one of the earlier TrackMania games once before, but I can definitely recommend it. I have some friends who are glued to this thing. This version of TrackMania is marketed as the “Ultimate edition”. It is only 1.08 GB, so you know you’ll get your bandwidths worth on this release (”Forever” is basically a patch, but it became so big that they gave it its own name). You will NOT be able to play this game online unless you have a legitimate CD-Key. If you want to do that then download the free version called TrackMania Nations Forever here.

Note: I know some of you have problems with the tracks to choose etc. To fix that do this:
1.) you go to my documents
2.) and then cut the trackmania folder (and put it somewhere) not trackmania united
3.) on the next start of the game you will have to create a new profile >:/ but u can choose all cars etc.

    pretty stupid consider the free version has more features and tracks

    too bad this game can’t play bump & grind race instead of everybody ghosting their way to the end to get the fastest time

    So this 10-link download is just a patch for the Trackmania United?

    Anyway, great game! Great community of players. I remembered playing Trakmania Nation online a few years back. Downloaded and raced in over 2k tracks. Although it became repetetive after a while.

    This game is NOT free.

    United = Not free
    Nations = Free

    United Forever contains all NEW stuff, including Nations support itself.

    If you play Nations you do not have all functions that United offers you.

    @14 Mr. X, I tought the same, tested the free version of trackmania and found it really is NOT for linux players. =(
    Cedega can´t handle it well enough, I had trouble with sound all time I started the game, and it can´t find the internet to make/log in a account.
    Besides this, if I turn the sound off (cause a stuck single note repeting forever is very hard to get used to), I was able to play the game in a Lan, with a windows client.

    And, I think its not my fault, lots of people was complaining about this game compatibility with internet/sound in cedega forums. :(

    You can play on LAN just fine with this release.
    Just click on “Party Play” when you are in the menu.

    But you can’t create an online profile as it needs to be verified by a legit key.

    no, uninstall the old nations forever (keep the documents files if u want to keep the acquirements) and install the united forever

    This is a great game imho, also if it’s a bit dated, it’s the most fun and custom racing game ever! if you really like it buy it!

    The facts about this game:

    Zen & Henckman are correct –

    - The free version (Trackmania Nations Forever) has LESS features and tracks - only the stadium gametype from the earlier free Nations.
    The full version (Trackmania United Forever) has all 7 track & car types from the series as well as the content of Nations Forever. It’s a much better game to have.

    - You can play on LAN fine with this release, just don’t choose to connect to online features when it asks you.

    Also, the pre-cracked installer for this game (well, expansion pack) was done in a strange way (I have a legal copy of United) - it asks to select your United folder and input your United serial, and after checking that you have a legitimate copy of the previous game installed, it installs itself entirely separately. My bet is that this release is either a hacked installer (that bypasses the folder & serial checks) as was done for Unreal 2 XMP many years ago (if anyone remembers), or a repacked one that installs the game standalone. It doesn’t seem to have any copy protection inherent in its launch process either. So no starforce if you use this release (I think)!

    Is there a crack-only?

    Reagrding Starforce, it seems this version definately DOESN’T include it, which is great news !

    Quote from another scene site about this release :

    “The Copy Protection on previous Trackmania games has always been StarForce (yuck) but with “United Forever” the developers saw sense and have removed it! All that is required is a Serial which is provided by DETONATiON, the release group”

    Download Free
    Play online (on Nations servers only) for free.
    Only 1 theme of track.
    Create tracks from the theme avaialble. (limited pieces to use)

    United:
    Buy it for £5 (make sure it’s brand new, should be cheap, been out years)
    Free to play online on Nations or United servers.
    8 themes of tracks.
    Can use your own models for the cars and players of both games can see it.
    Support for 3d glasses. Don’t know how good it is though.
    Get an online rank on every track / section.. and a global and local ranking. Region/Country/Continent/World.
    Create tracks for any theme with the full sets of pieces.

    Awesome game.. But unless you’re a total weiner who want’s to play the solo tracks and not even rank in the ladder i guess you could mess about on this for a while..

    And just don’t worry about the Forever addons.. You can’t play the old games anymore and the game will prompt you to update.

    So download TrackMania Nations Forever for free from the proper website and play it.. If you like it Buy TrackMania United.

    does anyone else have this error?

    i try to start a race or challenge, and it says that there is a set missing (sets are the different race areas and cars, like the lamborghini type.. etc..)
    i can only play the nations tracks.

    Ya, I cant even load the track up with out it stuttering and having a black screen. I even thought of putting the “new” cars into the free version, like you could with the old tmnations……but it dont work right. Damn I was so looking forward to this…….

    yup i can play the stadium tracks but thats it. if i try the other tracks i get the “could not load challenge! you dont have the collection:” message. did detonation screw up? i searched the trackmania forums and this doesnt seem to be a known problem so im guessing this release sucks.

    All working fine for me, no problems at all.
    I’m able to load any of the tracks from both the United section (Race, Platform, Stunt, Puzzle) & Nations section of the game.

    I used the download links from #69.

    Hey guys, here is the solution to the missing tracks problem!

    If you have the free TM Nations Forever installed, uninstall it. Then uninstall TM United Forever and install it again.
    This worked for me.

    No it’s not ! Nations is free (and always has been). United Forever contains all the Nations single-player content plus all the United Forever content (loads of extra race, stunt, platform and puzzle tracks).
