Officially its about 3000 but China has a massive industry and organs transplants taken form people executed, they boast they can find any new patient (usually western customer) a new kidney in a few weeks. To do that they must be killing a LOT of people on a daily basis. But the government still dictate and still control everything, they are just dictators who wont let you say what you like or do what you like etc. What China really needs is a military coup like in Thailand so someone can appoint a new temporary prime minister and then instill new elections. Of course this might mean the meltdown of the country but i dare say Bush is busy funding groups in china to do exactly that at some point.
