Episode 5: The Practical Supercar
The Audi R8 is claimed to be the ‘practical supercar’. “It looks like a nuclear powered supercar but it’s really practical,” said Charlie. “It’s like a non-threatening scud missile, safe explosives, or user friendly hand grenade.” His ‘Top Gun’ moment blasting down the tar mac leaves little debate on the issue.
Episode 6: Outback Odyssey
It’s a once and for all 4WD showdown and to the victor goes the spoils – exclusive dinner party bragging rights. The TGA team are bound for Cairns in north Queensland after starting out in central Australia to settle which 4WD can go the distance.

3) no one is “stealing” the top gear format, top gear is EXPANDING to other countries. i’m pretty sure top gear will get royalties or some other form of income for the show made in other countries, so… chill…

Why do they have to have an Australian version? No need. They’ll be reviewing the same cars as the UK version has already done. But it is like the Americans having a version of Takeshi’s Castle from Japan.
The Australian version has decent roads to drive on.Unlike the cycle paths they call roads in the UK.
I’ve always watched top gear. I live in Australia and I enjoy watching a show that follows the top gear way of thinking but previews car more relevant to Australians. Peugot, alfa romeo, bentley..what the hell are they ??

i agree with you barlz, but one problem with the australian version is it’s 3 presenters. i find them some what annoying… and the humour just doesn’t work with them…
