Tomb Raider Anniversary-R55
Over a week before the official release an unknown German group by the name of R55 have released a fully working version of Tomb Raider: Anniversary! Tomb Raider: Anniversary is the remake of the original Tomb Raider made all they way back in 1996 and stars everyones favourite big chested hero, Lara Croft. This remake uses an updated version of the Tomb Raider: Legend engine and will include most of the original levels, enemy’s and puzzles which made the Tomb Raider game such a big hit. On top of that it will include a couple of new features and extras to give it that something special.
The release is not your standard scene ISO but is in fact a DVD sent to the press and the like for reviewing purpose’s so you have to drag the contents of the DVD onto your hard drive before you can play, however on the bright side there is no copy protection! Even if the past few Tomb Raider games (possible exception of Legend) were a bit naff, Tomb Raider: Anniversary should give you the same great gaming experience that you got back in 1996! Note: This release has both English and German languages.

Nick the game is usually a .Bin/cue or .ISO format, just load the game up with any kind of image loader like alcohol 120% etc..

The controls have changed a tad, but if you played Legend that should only be really annoying. You should get the hang of it.
To install it, just open the DVD contents and copy the lot to your HDD, then double click on tra.exe.
This feels like the final game, though I wouldn’t know. There are problems with Lara’s shadow, but I’m sure they’ll be in the release version too. It’s a port of the PS2 version (ok… the only one there is) so no “Next-Gen Graphics” option in this one, but still looks great.

lol now ive got another problem, im in laras mansion and ive done everything (i think), it comes up with the completed level screen but i cant get to the next level…

this was first released by some lame ass n00b (alecsutzu91) on a modest Romanian tracker, don’t know where the guy got it or whatever, but from there it got on torrnetleech through means i do not know (and dont care) and so it ended up a scene release (witch it is not, it’s p2p crap if u aask me)..but wtf the thing works

to nick how to install the game as the guys said its not your usual bin or iso game just make a folder on your desktop then up zip all files. then once all files extracted just click on laras face in the folder and the game will start no set up or no cd required just play simple set up ok.

The part whene u enter at top and must go all the way down. theres 4 things u need a key for. I Went in 1 path called hephaestus and hit the lever and the gate with spikes behind it ended up falling off. And in another hall called Damocles, i grappled a brick high in wall and used it to jam up the gate. But i cant find anything to do in the other 2 rooms. I tried hitting 1 switch and running fast to other 1. i can hear ticking in background but i never make it in time to 2nd one. What did u do?
i just mounted it an made shortcut to the exe and it plays fine , securcom sucks ass get rid of it dont have it and it gets there bcuz of other games ECT that put it there!

Is it true that the first level of the game is the house. So if you start a new game the first level is the house. Because as far as I can remember tombraider 1 did not start in a house. I also have a problem witg saving the game. I see multiple times checkpoint in my screen but the game will not save. When i start the game the next time I have to do it all over again
Alcarnor, the starting isn’t a house location, and saving is done at the end of a chapter. Checkpoints are the last locations you can continue from after a death.
Just started Tomb of Qualopec, but already missed a relic and 2 artifacts back then. Quite unhappy, might go back and try again… =|
@alcarnor Go to ‘my documents’ and find the Eidos folder. Delete the ‘Tomb Raider – Anniversary’ folder and restart game.
Now click play game and NOT play croft manor.

@ DaLoon when the final version of the game comes out (June 5), you know there will be torrents for that version. So you could download the final version when it comes out. Delete this version of the game, making sure that YOU SAVE YOUR PROFILES (SAVED GAMES). Then once you’ve installed the final version when it comes out, you can put your saved games from this version into the final version. So that you wouldn’t have to start from the beginning again, and you’d have the final version of the game. Or you could use your method of resetting the date on your PC.
Sorry guys real nOOb here, I have dl’ed this and I have a folder full of RAR files each containing an ISO. I also have lots of files labelled Rxx that windows doesnt have a logo for. Do I extract every ISO ? And I can;t see an EXE anywhere, sorry to be dumb but really want to play and cant

Ok You havve to shoot them till they get enraged and charge you, wait to to do the slow time dive thing and shoot when marker turns red, when each of them stops dead, use your grappling hook to snatch their shields repeat for each one (hint-when the green light targets you duck, it wont turn u to stone) now when u have both shields neatly on the floor shoot the horsies like crap until they try and target u with medusa gaze, make sure your near a shield and facing them, and use it it will turn one of them to stone, shoot the shit outta it till it explodes then repeat for the second one, job done. let me know if this helps u k

if you get this error while starting the game, check your computer date, change it back to the real date or older date and when you start the game again it should ask you to check date using an internet server, choose yes and the game should start
That does not work. No matter what date it is set to, it still won’t play.
Strange? Mine is working, changed the date to June 29,2007 then got the error, then i change it back to March 24, 2007 and it asked me to check the right date thru an internet server or something and after checking it worked for me

A few posts have got me thinking about this expirey date thing . I would like to think there is a way around this should it rear its ugly head with me however i cant help thinking there is no way re-setting the date to a earlier date will do it. I find it strange some user are experiencing it and not others. Those who have expirey date issue can you answere the following plz ?
What Opperating system you running ? (XP/SP2 or VISTA ect ?)
What is the current date on your PC (Or what was it when you encounted the problems ?).
Anyother info you can provide that you think may be relevant ?.
Hopefully with a few answers and some thought there may be a poss work around, Who knows ?
I dont actually have the date problem atm but am really enjoying the game and dont want to get half way through and then that happen. I would then have to download FINAL TRA from a group scene release. (or go out and buy it).

Killing the two centaurs is really impossible, anyone who can help me further? I can avoid the gaze, and when they charge me, I just try to duck. Using the grapple to take their shields is impossible, i’ve tried 500 times. Sometimes they just stand still, doing nothing, even then using the grapple doesn’t work.. i’m starting to believe it’s bugged
u cant duck when they charge you, you have to do the adreiline dodge and wait for the marker to turn red, then shoot itll strale them and they will rest then grapple the shield, repeat for the other one. simple

I take it you are using the EXE contained within the game data to launch the game ? (the one with the picture of Laura Croft and not the TRA shortcut thats only 1KB in size)? The game must be launched via this only. (dont meant to patronise i just dont know your levle of understanding thats all). Are you new to D/L games and then getting them to run ? If so then mabey there is a chance you have done something wrong ? (which is good news really as that means we can probarly sort it providing your PC is up to running the game + You have latest driver version for your GPU (Graphics card) and are also running the new version of Direct X 9. If you can answer all these questions thats a bit more info for users of this place to work with (including myself).
Shite. Im off 2 bed now as its 01:45 (diddnt realize how late it was which is down to playing Tomb Raider Anerversery). From what i have played i have to say im enjoying it and its deffinatly a back to basics approach regarding the game play which is good news as i belive the beginning Tomb Raider games were the best game play wise. So glad Crystal Dynamics diddnt go down the same route as last game.

I have never got TRA to load. Every single time it says the same thing:

As far as I am aware, I have used the exact same torrent as everyone else
I mount the iso on to daemon tools (like everyone else seems to do with no problem, and then click the exe with Lara’s face. (not the shortcut)
I have also tried extracting all the data from the iso to my hardrive, still does not load.
My pc is fine, graphics drivers updated, latest direct X 9 – yes. The only think I do not have is Windows SP2 and I cant install it because my windows is not legit and i cant find any crack to bypass it.
REX: go to microsoft update and click on the (Got Windows XP SP2? The latest security updates are available for SP2 users only. Learn more..) then click on the install sp2 on multiple pc’s this shoul let you dwnld and install the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers. and if you want to be semi legal then do a torrent search for ROCKXP4.0 this app might help

as regards your post above i just wanted to mention the following. Whilst you can mount the iso with DT you have to deffinatly coppy/paste all of the data contained within the iso to your HDD. (Only way the game will work) Go into My doc’s and delete the Edios folder (if there).
Once you have coppied/pasted there should be lots of files called “BIG FILE.001 002 003 004 ECT ECT and some other files including the exe and binkw32.dll file
If you can be botherd i would do the following
DELETE all exsisting TRA data from PC (apart from the D/L R55 RAR files).
Now unzip RAR FILE
Mount iso with DT (i use version)409.HE
Once mounted go into my comp/into mounted drive/Copy all files ect and then paste into a new folder.
Unmount iso image from DT
Go into new folder where TRA data was pasted to and double click the shortcut
See what happens.
It would be avantageous if another person experiencing the same error as you could let us know if they have SP2 installed or not.

I tried the ’solution’ of setting the time to july the first and then getting the “license expired” message.
then i set the date back to normal and get a different message. “click yes to check time with a time server”
so i click yes and then it just bring up the origional message. GAME FUCKING EXPIRED. sorry to rant but this seems fucked up that i am the only person experiencing this.

Im having a really hard time with the centaurs too, so a thorough explanation how to beat them would be nice. Ive managed to get them stall, but no matter what I do, I can’t seem to grapple the shield. It just doesn’t stick.

Hi, guys, (and girls! )I’m stuck on St. Francis Folly where there’s a picture of perseus constellation on the wall and I can’t figure out what to do! Any Help??
Ah, the centurions really were easy, you just had to shoot a ‘bullseye’ to make them stop. Which means, make them angry, and when they are charging for you, ’slow motion/blur mode’, don’t shoot, duck away from them obviously, then wait for the circles to make a crosshair, when the circles become one, and red, shoot. Now grappling the shield works. You can take both centurions shields, but I found it unnecessary. Once you turn them into stone (by mirroring their stone-gaze), just shoot everything you got at them, if they didn’t die. Stone ‘em again.

When looking at the constellation, go to your left, there’s a gate/wall that is the exact same image, except for one small detail, the starts you need to ’shoot’ are marked with jewels.
@Lalex I’m right ahead of you (possibly an hour ahead) and I’m stuck I can’t go back I can’t find where to go, at my right there’s something I can grabble into, I can swing but there’s nowhere to jump to, Guys is it possible to jump from the wall to the side instead of ahead??
(look at my post above).
@ Gandalf, it’s possible to jump to the side from a wall, when hangning from a rope or grappling, yes. Just keep keep the eg. right arrow down when pressing space (jump).
Thanks Bill I’ll try it tomorrow after work…I’ve seen that wall and the gems snd tried to start shoot from those, but nothing happened

@LaLeX the lights that you can turn off when step on the stone, You must only lighten the ones that are made of cristals on the image at the end of the hall… If I remember correctly the fist one is the left eye of the blow head and the end of the sword…

I am stuck, in the 3. level (Peru, the lost valley).
Its the situation with the big waterfall. I have collected two of the small gearwheels… But for the third gearwheel, I will have to swim into an underwater-opening above the waterfall, which I opened with a lever… BUT, the waterflow is two strong, and I am always pulled down the waterfall…
How can I swim into this cave??? Am I missing something?
Please help!!!
@ alex, That’s where the relic is, pick it up later. To get to the last gear, you have to continue to the next area, you’ll come back later. You will have to fight T-Rex and some velociraptors, but they aren’t THAT hard to beat. The opening for area you want to get to is on the opposite wall from where you’ve put the two gears you’ve already found. It might be a bit tricky to get over there at first, but as with everything, practice makes perfect.

got the same license date crap problem…
Running XP SP2
At first, I immideatly set the time a few months back, hoping the game would never complain about the license date. But it detected a wrong date and time setting, so asked to check online. Then I get the message “License date expired etc…”
So, never been able to run the game.
Deleting the files and re-extracting them from the .rar didn’t help.
Downloaded my copy from rapidshare btw, so it’s already bigfile.000, bigfile001,… there isn’t an iso.
Anyone knows if there will be a crack for that license date thingy?
Linky-Biscuit U are not the only one I downloaded the game 3 times from different sources and still didn’t managed to play because of the time thingy . Hope we get a crack soon . *sigh*

@ kcao, that’s an alleged bug. For me it worked by first grappling the stone down, then pulling the lever for the gate, and pushing it under the gate, so I then could jump on the stone, grab the gate, and jump up.
But some say that’s exactly what you shouldn’t do, and it’ll bug the game. They say you should only push the stone near the gate, not as close so it’ll interfere with it.
Anyone know where the relic should’ve been in Natla’s Mine?
Great game so far, just been doing the training missions…I have the gear, map and just got the guns but can’t get out of that room…I set of an alarm when I entered the room…I noticed the chandelear changes colour when I manual aim at it but shooting does nothing, any ideas how to get out of this damn room….my guess is it may jus be a bug, gonna get back into the game now.
you will find a book upstairs in the second room.
when you read it (it has a 4 digit number at the end)
the 2 doors will be unlocked.
And for the first room you will find a big painting on the upper floor.
jump and grab it and you find the button to the next room

The grapple is found in the center of the maze. 7 to (2) 11 to open the gates.
@ JIMBO, it took me a while to figure it out too. The key is to ‘head shot’ the centurion, to make them confused or whatever, so they’ll stall. This is accomplished by waiting for the crosshair to become red when in slow motion/blur mode. Hold down the aim key all the time, then when you duck away from the charging centurion, you’ll see two gray circles, they’ll connect, and when they do – BANG, headshot. After this, grappling should work just fine.

One question though, anyone here been able to collect the second artefact from the gym? The one more to the right if facing them. I can’t manage to get there, hehe. Otherwise Im done with the game, except a few other artefacts and one relic..

I lied you, I haven’t gave up. That wasn’t easy. In fact, I didn’t use the bullet time properly. Anyway I always play games in easy to avoid those kind of thing, what’s the difference with the hard difficuluty in that case ?

Yea I was in that room if you haven’t already solved it, here’s how (Only from memory I don’t have a save in that room sorry).
When you first walk in the room, nothing is moving you take the red key (is it the red hmmm *-)) then you roll back very quickly coz of the swords falling from above you, now you go to the end of this room there’s a broken passage you can walk onto and jump and quickly grabble to the one above, make your way to the square-like passage above and jump to the *right window* open the liver and then get down, now when you walk throught the door a sword will fall on you so keep to your right + rool, go to the right, when you arrive at the end there will be a moving swords at your left (white ground) you have to memorise the movement and walk onto the *white* ones (the red comes up each time) once you get out of this god help you with the swords above lol, I can cound 6 swords (if I remember right) now go left and walk throught the one you opened earlier (using the lever) and make your way up, then on the white bar at your left, the one in this picture http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/9854/24024522am9.jpg that you see on the right, see the white bars (wall bars) at the far end?? you have to go there and use the grabble to jump to the one marked with “I can’t jump here” in this picture http://img395.imageshack.us/img395/7166/17064561xm1.jpg, to do this you have to swing, once lara is going to flip so she can roll on the wall backward you have to press Left and the Jump…
Now just make your way to the balcony at the far end of this room and get out of it…
Oh and BTW there’s another hard room, the one that you find an electric ball at the center, just a hint, the hammer, you can use it to jump from

When do you get the shotgun?? I just fought some dinos and keep getting ammo for shotgun and special pistol but haven’t found any new weapons themselves yet

you get the shotgun when you finish the Peru level, you only get to use it in the greece level. yes it is normal
“C”, you will find it in the waterfall level, in the same area when you found the 2nd “Gear”. shoot the rope bridge and go to the bridge you shot and go down.
Then jump to the right and you will find the shotgun.

Well, that’s it… I have been shooting centaurs for 33 minutes, used all shotgun and 50 caliber ammo, 20 small medpacks and 10 big, without any success… I hope i’ll find some cheats when the game is released to continue from this point…
You have to grapple the shield from the centurion after you’ve stunned it, by shooting a ‘headshot’. There’s information on this in these comments, scroll up.
Bill, I’ve read it but i can’t grapple the shield…. When i throw the grapple it justs comes back… it won’t stay on the shield… I’ve tried it a thousand times….
Now I know how to beat them, I can’t make a video to explain it. I don’t know why, FRAPS doesn’t seem to work in that game. And I didn’t find a similar software yet.
I can give you a savegame, but finding secrets isn’t my priority…

Need help in Greece, St. Francis Folly.
I think i screwed up my game somehow. It’s the part with 4 halls in this long downward shaft u climb up and down many times. I did the first 3 halls, like hephaestus and damoclues and another 1. But the very bottom one i think i messed it up. It’s the 1 where u grapple and pull a block out of wall high up. well when i did it, i didn’t know how to get over gate at time so i pushed block under door to stop it and ended up leaving thus saving it that way.
Upon coming back and knowing how to get over, i can climb on the block, then jump on the gate ledge, but when i jump and try to hang on the hole i go through she hits something invis and wont grab onto ledge. I’m assumeingi was just suppose to move block out and take the gate up like the other halls.
But now if i move block outta the way, door comes dow but switch wont reset so i cant open the door anymore. i dont know what to do.
same problem as geniee02 here — grapple the block, jam the door, hang on to door, but then cannot reach the hole without hitting ’something’. The opening lever seems to work a few times, but it’s now stuck down.

after trying countless things i finally found a way to get past the gate!
Load a game were you havent used the gate yet and then start by pulling the stone down so it lands on the long side and not the small side. Then pull the lever and quickly jump the stone and when onto the gate as the top of the gate reach the hole, and from the gate quickly jump up into the hole.

The one where you need to hang on to the two weights? Where the relic is on top of the gate, on the right side?
Well it’s timed, pull the rightmost one first, then as fast as you can jump down, and jump up to the leftmost one. Then again, as fast as you can, jump down and stand on the platform.
When the door is opened you can get to the place where the relic is, don’t forget it
It’ll give you a nice treat, if you liked how lara looked in Legend.

ok after you download the file..you only need to extract 1 file r55-tra.r00 to another folder you create.i called mine tra..then just click on the tra.exe..and play..you can burn the files you extracted as data if you want to.so you have a copy later.thanx r55 this game rocks..kinda hard to figure out in some spots..but great game..

what should i do?
open the win rar file with winrar, extract the iso mount the iso with daemon tools then drag the contant onto a folder on your hard drive then play.

I have the Hatred release and Have a level select but the autosave feature is damged and won’t work with it so you can only play one level at a time. And When I try to play a regular game I get stuck in level 2 the city of vilcamba on the left path you run around you jump to a platform then to the wall jump to another part of the wall and then to the oepning to get to the part to open the gate but when i try to Jump from the wall to the opening she won’t make the jump ends up in the water every time how do you get past this is there a trick to it

To kill the centurions – one easy way is to go back into the
water once they’ve ome alive and swim back to the cave with the ammo/medipack. Wait there for a few minutes and one of the centurions will get killed by the other. Swim back and get out of the water as quickly as possible and all you have to do is stun the centurion, grapple its shield nad do some damage. You can also hide behind the shield when he fires the freeze ray at you. It’s a lot easier fighting just one!

hey i just downloaded r55 game and i have a problem!
it is some error in the game, it is the second map that room with all the doors with goods where youll have to get the keys from fx posidon atlantis and so on, iv don alle the rooms but that one Demoni… somthing, youll have to pull that stone out of the hole on top of the door and put it under the door so it don fall down, but when i jump up to grab the edge it is like the game havnt registrated that the stone is out… that suck because i stuck and i have played the first tomb raider game (to playstation 1) so that room sould not be a problem… does any of you guys had any problems like that?

hey now…this is a great game……i downloaded the new trainer…da one with the music….i tried playing but during a game when i hit the trainer buttons to activate a cheat, da daymn game crashes….so now i put the no-cd exe file….itz 4.58MB in size…this time the trainer works gr8 but the daymn saved game dosnt work…and now i cant turn the cheats that i have unlocked on….they are all missing….the whole game is completed though….everything unlocked before i replaced the 19MB exe with the 4.58mb one. hell! can some one send me his saved games 100% completed under the 4.58mb non-cd tra.exe….i want to have the trainer working too!datz y i need what i asked for!…dave_hotshot@hotmail.com

hey …..Tom Cruise…ok….see now…there is a gold ring attached to a concrete block that is in a passage on top of the gateuse the grapple and pull it down. then open the gate using the switch. as the gate goes up push the block through so that when the gate falls back down it rests on the block… “Now again pull the switch. quickly get on the block and face towards the gate.as the gate reaches itz top limit jump to catch it and immediately jump again to get hold of the ledge of the passage on top of the gate….walla!… u have to be accurate and quick to get past this gate… even i had problems… hope this helps u!…enjoy..

I saw your solutions for licence expiring problem, but none of them works for me, because I didn’t download game or instaled it, I got it on dvd and it just worked, without instaling. But now it just keeps saying that it’s licence has expired. I tried the trick with changing date, but it didn’t work. What whould I do? PLEASE!!! help me.:(
