hey no doubt PS2 was a great gaming plattform, but this game looks like cr*p!! the 4 year old God of War looks 10 times better and used more memory on a dvd… 1 GB graphix, speech, cutszenes and textures is usually pathetic.

Copied PS2 games also run of HDD with HDLoader or something similar, so soft modded works also.

Steve: FreeMCB (formerly FreeVast) and ESR is what you need.

check out http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/ for more info and to download the apps needed.

If you have a fat PS2 you can also put a 3.5″ IDE HD in and not need to play from disc at all.

Reason: I’m a ps2 fanboy? my favourite console of all time is still the dreamcast, followed by the snes and saturn.

I even prefer the PS1 to the PS2. Some fanboy I am. I’m simply a realist

“It’s been out twice as long” is a p iss poor excuse, I don’t care how long something has been out; just how fun it is – and the ps2 easily beats the ps3 and 360 for quality and quantity of games.

The PS2 will die when games that are currently in development are finished for it. This time next year the PS3 will be down in price, all ps2 games that are now in production will have been released and the ps3 will have a decent catalogue of games. That’s when people will stop buying it, until then only the Wii can compete with it in sales figures.

Easy solution to the DC looking crap on a WS TV – press the Aspect Ratio button on your TV remote control to 4:3. problem solved. (or keep an only 4:3 CRT TV just for retro consoles, it’s the best way to enjoy them – TFT/Plasma just isn’t good enough).
