The latest R6 (Rainbow Six) is released. Anyone that was keeping an eye on this title knows all about it but for those of you who haven’t: R6 is a squad based first person shooter in which you have to fight terrorist, this time in the US of A itself! Las Vegas to be more precise. One of the new gameplay elements is the way of taking cover. It’s almost exactly the same as it is in Gears of War (which is also coming to PC, somewhere in either 2007 or 2008). It’s kinda like Swat (1, 2, 3 and 4) but not quite. Final Note: As stated above, Shader Model 3 is REQUIRED. So anything that does not support SM3 does not run this game, at all. The low settings are all set for SM3 as well so it’s either a VGA that supports SM3 like the GeForce 6 series and up.

Those screenshots are from the Xbox 360 version I’m assuming. The PC version won’t look that good (even though it can actually look better – they nerf it).
They are 360 screens but the PC version looks better then the 360 version so I have no idea where you got your information? Anyways, I have all recommended requirements, the only stupid thing is the goddamn hardware detecting utility that’s supposed to set the game to a certain graphical level doesn’t recognize my goddamn Intel Core 2 Duo E6600! How fucked up is that?! Of course it’s one of the best CPU’s out right now but this game doesn’t support it or something. Now I’ll have to find some way to either patch my game or I’ll have to wait for an official patch. This is just retarded, the Core 2 Duo CPU’s have been out for several months now and this game doesn’t support them, what the fuck kinda half assed detecting utility is that? The same utility DID support Core2 Duo when I installed Double Agent.
Not even XP supports dual processors fully. You can’t tweak the settings regardless?
As for the pc version not looking as good as the 360, you need only look at any port from that console (and indeed GRAW) to see that they treat the systems differently.

Most 6800 series are able to outperform a 7600GS, don’t get sucked in the to the Nvidia naming convetion bullshit.
6xxx series GPUs from Nvidia all support Pixel Shader 3.0. Instead of presuming just use your keyboard to do a search then you will learn something.
GRAW was written by a different development team for the PC that’s why it differs from the superior Xbox 360 version.

These XBOX360 ports are not bad at all. I hope you all remember those horrible PS2 to PC ports? Yeah. XBOX360 ports are a very good change from the PS2 ports.
Oh yeah remember the PC version Of Metal Gear Solid 2,Pro Evolution etc games that still had the PS2 Controls in them when you when you read the manual..

the thing is that the game needs at least 3.0ghz CPU but they obviously missing the fact that theres a difference between Pentium 4 3.0ghz and Pentium D 3.0ghz (thats the one i have)…and those who have core 2 duo 2.40 GHz just can’t run it cuz the game is so stupid and it doesn’t know that core duo 2.40 ghz is much faster than pen 4 3.0ghz…it just counts the number of ghz…silly

awsome game!!! had a lot of trouble to make it work cause of the securom. but got yasu the latest and everything is great. runs smooth on 3.0ghz pentium D, 512mb ati x1900xtx, 2gb ddr2.
only problem is I use a wide screen monitor wich resolution is 1360×768 and the game does not offer that resolution. anyone know how to fix this. I hate having to play it at 1024×768
If you are having problems I downloaded yasu 1.05 from gamecopyworld and was running daemon tools 4.08. Use yasu to stop daemon tools being blacklisted, let the game update to 1.02 and it’ll work fine.

you start Y.A.S.U just before you are about to start the game.
If it still doesnt work make sure there are no other image drives on your computer. For example if you installed nero at some point then Nero ImageDrive will be on so you would have to uninstall that before it works. Y.A.S.U only hides daemon tools 4.06-4.08
I’m not really impressed with this game. I miss the realism of the older R6 games, whereas this is more of a run & gun action game.

I got it, and it gives me grief about my dual core AMD 64×2. The game looks better than it does on my 360, however: The play control is dicked up. I am playing with a mouse and keyboard, and the movement keys don’t work right. If I hold down a movement key, and let go, it keeps moveing after I let go. Anyone know how to fix that?

So yes, it works perfectly fine with DirectX10 and Vista
So yes, it does have a problem detecting dual core CPU’s, though seemed not to make any difference to my system, no dodgy jutters like Intel Pooooooo.
You can apparently run this game on GFX cards with Shader2 by editing the main INI file and forcing it to use v2 instead of 3…or you could just stop being tight and spend money on a proper card!
In regards to “run and gun”, you do that in real life you die, simple…this is a realism game for a reason, go join the TA and get some game training
I think R6Vegas is amazing in all aspects, can’t think of anything bad other than possibly game developers writing proper CPU detection instead of clock detection.

All i want to do is play the dam game, i am running a 2ghz dual core processor (intel), 2gb ram, geforce 8600m GT card but when i run the game a screen appears playing the preliminary video and then suddenly closes. Plus it says some shit about resolution but i’ve checked and thats good. can someone help me but be something to rectify this wank problem.
i recently bought R6V and installed it without any probs. Tried to run the game and said I didn’t have the minimum requirements for the processoring speed.
I have a pentium 4 3.7GHz dual processor. I think it may only be utilising one of them only (1.86Ghz).
