I successfully avoided it in 1997, and I continue to avoid it! My friends whose wives/girlfriends all drug them to see it hated it. One girl saw the stupid movie TEN times in the theaters. What a waste.

@smartass:Because the general moviegoing population is ignorant of what constitutes a good movie. Just take a look at Transformers. I keep hearing how people say it’s so good, but it’s really not. The cinematography was alright – though standard for any film, and action film, the writing was horrid – What was up with that lame special agent character? He was a dumbass. Poorly written character. And that whole scene with the Autobots trying to hide from Sam’s parents? Corny and stupid.

How did the voters at IMDB only give it a 7.1?

That was one of the greatest movies of all time along with Shindlers list, it’s that of a good movie it should have gotten at least an 8.6

it was on tv yesterdAY. idk how it won 11 oscars and was numbr 1 movie at the box office of all time. wasnt that good imo.
