Here is a Direct Sattelite Rip from iHT. Part 1 of a modern take off of Wizard of Oz. A mini series (with only 3 parts).

This is a bizarre, post-modern version of The Wizard of Oz. Zooey Deschanel stars as DG, the main character who finds herself trapped in a place called O.Z. - the Outer Zone. She wants to get home and is joined in her travels by Glitch - a man with only half of a brain, Raw - a beast-like man that lacks confidence, and Cain - a “Tin Man” (which is the name of the police force in O.Z.) who seeks revenge for the damage done to his heart.

    I watched that last night and I thought it was good; good fantasy/scifi/adventure mix. I never saw the original movie but I think it has some potential

    @ wil2200 You have got to be $hitting me. I can’t believe you never seen the original. How old are you like 7. Anyway, it’s good that you didn’t see the first one so that you can’t compare this one, like alot of slowtarted people are gonna do anyway.

    I have seen the original far too many times to count. I saw this on telvision last night and really liked it. Just don’t expect anything like the original movie, there are some parellels that are fun to try and draw… but this is a unique movie and for those fans of darker, fantasy, tales… you won’t be disappointed! So for those who haveseen it… does D.G. stand for Dorothy Gale or, D? Glenda (the good witch? LOL)

    Seems like a kiddy movie, but anything with Zooey in it is worth trying out for me. The other parts will be aired in the next two days, so I think I’ll wait a bit to be able to watch it in one go.

    Zooey, is oh so good looking even thyough it’s a little hard to tell from her frumpy picture here. I’d like her to sit on my lap while she spoon feeds me a hardboiled egg

    i thought it was really well done and should be interesting to see what it all adds up to be after the 3 parts are concluded. it is almost as cool as syncing the dark side of the moon with the original movie =]

    i can’t believe somebody has not seen the original!

    what about that hip-hop version, think it had michael jackson or something ghey.

    think i’ll wait for all three to be done, then someone will probably release a proper-syncfix-extended-unrated-dvdrip-hidef-h264.avi version, it’ll still probably suck arse.

    My prediction;

    The story will ramble all over the place until it comes to a semi-conclusion that leaves people asking “That’s it???”

    That said, I’ll end up watching it anyway, especially for Zooey. I may wait and watch all the parts together though.

    wow i really like it. way better than the original. i love all sci-fi shows (BSG, SGA, etc).

    The 1939 version isn’t “original”. The book came out in 1900. The musical in 1902 and then four silent movies after that. THEN the 1939 version came out and even then it’s not a faithful adaptation of the book. Lots of very cool (and probably expensive special effect) scenes are missing. Not to mention Dorothy murders the wicked witch at the end. It’s not an accident.

    Watch it for Zooey cos she is hot and of course the sister of matey woman from Bones.

    The story like the Flash Gordon made by the same people takes the basic story which has its own history - like Flash Gordon and shoe horns a load of sf and fantasy cliches into it to the point of you think “What the hell is going on”

    In the end I thought id watched the story before and of course I had in sliders and The 10th Kingdom as a big rip.

    Fine if you are one of those people who profess to have never seem The Wizard of Oz or the sequal or dont watch sf and fantasy.

    This is a show like so many other that tries to introduce sf ideas to a audince that doesnt usually watch and of course then wouldnt have seen it ALL before.

    Or maybe its for the buff who watches and sez..oh thats from this film or show.

    Its lazy writing like Flash - nothing new apart from the setting a a few little bits of clever.

    If it was Farscape (and of course it is too) it would be taking the piss out of itself a bit more..but its ooo soo serious.

    This is what the sf channel wants new (lol) programmes rather than hit shows.

    I will of course watch it all and wait for the next bit of plot or reveal to jump out and say what its from…

    What would be is a running subtitle track mentioning each reference and what show / film its rippide from…..

    Now that would be funny..

    Maybe its .srt time….the net will tell us if this idea catches on..

    Great release, zooey is sexy in a next door neighbour way, her characters witch sister is way hot in a Wicked way, and their mother still looks good, does not look old enough. The Big question is WHERE IS PART 2? thanks again for the release.
