Since the scene is starting to get flooded with the usual TV releases, I figured its time to start a TV roundup. Mainly all the shows have either ended this week or will end next week, and we’ll have to wait until after the summer for them to come back :( .

    Deadliest.Catch.S04E06.HDTV.XviD-GNARLY is out this week (& has been 4 cpl days)…. Seems noone cares/noticed this info is wrong.

    As much as I’d like to use it, NV hasn’t been happy on my PC. Format/new reinstall/codecs installed/helper installed/divx installed – all leaves me with a “can’t view video” message blasted across my screen.

    Oh, ffs, not again with that fokn spam about ninja video. For everyone’s benefit, here’s some info about them I posted on last week’s Thursday roundup:

    “So I decided to check out this totally uber awesome ninjawhatever site whose overzealous owners have been spamming all night here and which is supposed to let me “1 CLICK STREAM & DOWNLOAD DIVX!!1″ the latest eps of all my favourite shows. Turns out I first have to download a little installer of their own (lovingly named “NinjaVideo Helper 0.1.4″) which adds a prog on my comp – along with a service set to run automatically no less – so I can then directly connect to their otherwise super stealthy, cloaked server with my IP (obviously) visible to them in order to begin getting their 528×317reso l33t (re)rips…

    Long story short, f*ck this false advertising, inferior sh!t and stick to your reliable quality scene rips’ torrents you can get in 6mins from trackers you know and trust. Case closed, now plz FOAD, ninjavideo.”

    @35… and anyone else that agrees with him. NinjaVideo is used by thousands of people that have absolutely no complaints. I post here as a friend of ReeGed’s and have had my site approved by the staff of RlsLog. In fact a few of them use the site frequently to stream if they feel like checking out a new show quickly. Do you need to download the Helper to watch something? Yes. Is it so that we can get your stats? No… we couldn’t care less about them. It’s something that’s necessary in order to keep our uploads exclusive and to keep our buffers as fast as they are. If you have issues with it, then they are your own. The percentage of people that have a problem using the player is negligible and if they wanted to address them properly and politely, then they may do so on my board. Until then… Your comment was rude and unnecessary. It should go without saying that we wouldn’t be allowed to post here as frequently as we do without permission from the heads of Rlslog.

    I support ninjavideo for the simple reason: the RIAA can’t get me…..it’s much more anonymous than any torrent sadly….and I’m happy that it hosted on servers…not on torrents…and in fact (on public tracker i kno) the speeds are so much worse for downloading then what phara provides. I honestly dont see the hurt here….there are many people who have trouble with torrents…dont trust users…etc (as you say “tin foil conspiracies)…and this is a perfect outlet for them. I wholly doubt they take away from the torrent scene at all…if that the case then the rapidshare downloaders “take away form the scene”…

    @71… Thank you very kindly. We work quite hard. I have a tendency to wall of text but I’m working on the backend of my site right now and I really can’t afford too at the moment… but feel free to PM either here or on my boards any time.

    @Pegasus… I didn’t respond to your complaints about “subpar bitrate” because they’re unfounded. 95% of the videos on NinjaVideo are scene release. In fact I would be surprised if every comment we made on rlslog didn’t utilize the same release being advertised in the OP. So, quite honestly, I have no idea what you’re talking about. As far as being dismissive, I am and I’m not. I quite honestly don’t care about people’s IPs. However, I do know that Comcast does, and my uploaders that use it as an ISP are screwed torrent wise… And as far as Ninja IP logging, we don’t do it unless we’re given reason too. And that would only come from a troll in my forums, which is totally unrelated to the Helper. Additionally… please do not presume to know anything about our operation or the number of servers we have. Within a few days there will be no more Ninja Helper as we will be releasing a browser applet soon. I took a degree of offense at your post as a professional in this game with what is arguably one of the fastest growing websites to ever hit the online video community. You may call that conceited if you like, but it’s the truth as far as I’m concerned. I work hard on it, as do the other Admins and the rest of my staff and I’m very proud of it. A random comment telling me to “FOAD” is not something I care to address, but address I did as Rlslog is a site I have much love for and I will not be slated here. Additionally, since we were given permission to post here, I would consider it a slap in the face in regards to my relationship with the staff here. And quite frankly, that’s not cool. We all work hard on our respective sites and we provide a service that is quite unparrallel.

    Lastly, you ask why my site is any better than private trackers. The answer is because the majority of people using the net to view video aren’t on private trackers. That’s really all. It’s a lot easier to install the Helper than it is to get an invitation to TorrentLeech or the likes.

    Thank you for responding clearly and articulately to me. I feel I have said what I needed to in regards to your concerns.

    Sub par bit rates? really.. really? because im always using scene releases when i upload at NV. So if im upping the same exact copy of a show released by the release groups.. how exactly is it sub standard to what you get from torrents or rapidshare.

    Maybe just maybe there are people here who cant use torrents or dont have a Rapidshare account, we give them the option of either downloading or streaming the same copies that you would find torrenting or downloading from rapidshare.

Hell even my aged mother , who still uses IE because the ‘nice young man at PC World told her to’ would be wary of downloading ‘helper’ software from a site called ‘Ninja.
