Throw The Fight – In Pursuit of Tomorrow (2008)

Hey guys! Today we have a band from Minneapolis Minnesota USA brought to us by the fine folks at FM. They have toured on the ‘07 warped tour and ‘In Pursuit of Tomorrow’ is their first album release. They are a rock/alternative band … but they have some metal-influenced, melodic rock sounding tunes. The album has a wide variety of music so the appeal is pretty broad. Check it out for yourself! Enjoy and I suggest Track 2 – Weakest Hour, as it seems to be their hit track. If you guys like the tunes, be sure to get the album when it comes out on the 24th! (link below) I’ve always liked to give as much support to the new bands, as long as they deserve it of course!

Throw The Fight’s aptly named full-length debut, In Pursuit of Tomorrow, shows that this Minneapolis-based outfit has made the single-minded sacrifice to put it all on the line. The album roars like fire tearing across a hayfield; throughout they keep it brisk while adding passages of iron-heaviness and dizzying breakdowns. It’s a D.I.Y., take-no-prisoners, gritty plea to be heard! The band has played over 275 shows in the last four or five years, with highlights ranging from being on the Vans Warped Tour to lows like playing to a less-than-crowded club now and then.

Man, oh man I long for the day when these ‘faux hawks’ FINALLY go out of style! I realize most reasonably intelligent people have long stopped sporting them, but for some reason lead singers of indie bands still seem to think that this douchey hairstyle offers some kind of ’street cred’….. :rolling my eyes:

Stop the madness people! Just say NO! to faux hawks!!

    Thanks! Bye!

That is definitely the worst name for a band I’ve ever heard.

Why must all bands, artists or musicians pose like a bunch of total wannabe wankers. They all look into the camera like they have got a carrot up there a** and they enjoy it.

Music is dead. These “kids” look like they just stepped out of the latest Sims games.

I can hear it now. 3 chord simplisitic, forgettable music just like the last 15 years of pop/rock.

@4 – It’s not just the “Faux Hawk” but the choice of clothing. No individuality or separate identity & it shines in this crappy release. I agree w/venomhead in the mainstream sense because this band blows!

Use your bandwidth wisely and d/l the new Cynic demo!

Hair aside, this is a full length record?? when did full length records amount to a half hour of music? Oh well…they’re a good band, they sound somewhat like older Thrice to me, but I’ve heard two songs so far and they’re decent, nothing too special.

    great post – thanks a lot :)

in the past i used to get to know new bands through amazon recommendations or such – but while those are pretty useless lately, i find some interesting band here about once every month… keep it up :)

Thanks sh4dow! I usually stick to my ‘oldies’ but I enjoy putting the word out about new bands or newer albums.

As always … if anyone knows about a scener that’s not posted here, feel free to make requests! We have a forum or leave a comment or two :D
