I found this on a bulletin board, and decided to try it.

Step 1: Get 6 separate one dollar bills, get 6 pieces of paper and write the following on the paper PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST. Wrap each dollar bill in each note, and include your name and address. Next mail the envelopes to the six people on the list.
Step 2: Now take the number 1 name off the list below, and move the other names up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, 2 becomes 1, etc.) Make sure to add your name as number 6 on the list.
Step 3: Now post your article to at least 200 newsgroups and message boards. The more you post the more responses you’ll get, and the more money you’ll make!
DIRECTIONS TO POST: (1)=open a blank word processor file(MS Word, Notepad, etc.), and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. From the edit menu select paste. Past a copy of this letter onto the word processor document so you can add your name to the list. (2)=save your new word processor file as text file. (3)=Log on to search engines like yahoo.com, google.com, altavista.com, excite.com, etc. then you search with the subject “money making message board”, “millionaire message board” or “money making forum” etc. (4)=Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of the letter and selecting paste from the edit menu, paste it. Fill in the subject, this will be the header that everyone will see as they scroll through the list of the posted groups. Click the post button, submit button, etc. You are done with the first one! Just copy and paste the same letter to the other groups. It will take about 30 seconds for each group. Remember the more newsgroups or message boards you post the more money you will make! You have to post a minimum of 200. That’s it! You will be soon be receiving money from all over the world, you may eventually need to rent a P.O. Box due to the large amount of mail you will be receiving. If you want to stay anonymous, you can make up a name to use, as long as the postman will deliver it. Just make sure all addresses are correct. When your money begins to come in, give it the first 10 percent to charity with spirit and share a good fortune!

IMHO the only way to resolve this is to have a registration policy to allow posting. Limit posts to a certian amount with a rating system for Video Quality/ Audio Quality/ for films. Audio quality for music. Games could be along the lines of, ease to get running (as diff games require diff amounts of knowladge and time to get working) Dose it work ect ect. If this was done in the same way you vote using the current star system it would take all of 1 min for users to input valuable info relating to game/film/music ect and would also be very easy for users wanting to find info out about a certian title.

Please input something streamlined like this for ease of use. This would cut out on many flame wars ect and every time someone rates a certian title it would be informative and not the dribble that many users seem to enjoy inputting.

Last but not least. Thanks to RLSLOG for the job they have been doing till now. I appreciate being able to come here and use the RSS feeds to keep tabs on the current situation relating to multimedia.

Agreed, I see your point. And having thought about it I think you’re right that Mr.X uses inflammatory language in many posts. Personally I like that because it’s his opinion, and I prefer that to a lifeless review full of platitudes – or just a copy and paste.

I agree that it’s hypocritical for rlslog to ban people while their own staff stir up people’s emotions about certain subjects.

Having reread Martin’s original post, “offtopic, rude and intolerant” is perfectly reasonable grounds for deleting a comment. I think the phrase “banned forever” hits a nerve with a lot of people, and adds an element of competition for some. All things considered, it seems like simply deleting rude off-topic comments is enough.

Must admit all the kiddies thats posted here have made me somewhat giggle. No matter what happens, the internet is allways gonna have these kids, just gotta filter the little fuckas and get on with things.

Chin up Martin and co. Your doing a cracking job. Kids have said you should get some balls. Well I think your balls must be pretty fecking big to host a site which takes so much organisation to run and more importantly; hold a community.

Besides that I don’t think censoring comments or posts is a good idea. I like opinions, regardless whether I agree with them. And I have the ability to not read things that are posted, but don’t have the ability to read things which have been deleted. It’s about choice. Just choose not to read posts by Mr.X if you don’t like him.

While this comment does not personally bother me, it really does show how immature Mr.X is… Statements like this, “Start shit” and if the staff here on New Torrents want us to “Think before you post a comment” Maybe they should tell their staff to do the same.
