Here we have a Screener of the movie The Strangers released by Optic. This Screener is good. Acceptable video & audio quality for a Screener ( check video sample) . The Strangers are directed & written by Bryan Bertino. For his film debut, director Brian Bertino has crafted a fantastically creepy horror flick based on the very simple premise of strangers who come knocking late at night. I love this movie tag lines: Lock the door. Pretend you’re safe. We tell ourselves there’s nothing to fear – but sometimes, we’re wrong.  And this one: What are you afraid of? If you enjoy horror movies here is another one for you… don’t get to scared…. :mrgreen:

Plot:
After returning from a wedding reception, a couple staying in an isolated vacation house receive a knock on the door in the mid-hours of the night. What ensues is a violent invasion by three strangers, their faces hidden behind masks. The couple find themselves in a violent struggle, in which they go beyond what either of them thought capable in order to survive.

    @46 I have a theory, and, hear me out, perhaps these VHS screeners are or impeccable quality when viewed ONCE, then when they fall into the “scene’s” hands they degrade. Analog has advantages over digital but analog can degrade.. maybe that is MPAA intention? I dunno, just random thoughts..

    the Strangers will be available on both DVD and Blu-ray, October 21st. The Blu-ray will feature both rated (85 minutes) and unrated (88 minutes) versions of the film. Extras for this release include deleted scenes, a featurette called “The Elements of Terror”, and a BD-Live feature called “My Scenes Sharing” which, if the name is any indication, will allow you to share your favorite scenes with other fans of the film (wiki)

    get the stuffies(STG) release. it looks slightly better than optic’s. the quality is very ordianary for a vhs screener though, but i’m sure stuffies did the best he could.

    This was a horrible movie, too many unbelievable plot points. The Director’s work here is massively unbelievable. I waited until the very end for the movie to redeem itself… but it never happened. This felt like a student film with a budget. Sad.

    It started off scary, but then Speedman’s character took some INCREDIBLY STUPID risks, and it just ruined it for me.

    He knew there were numerous armed strangers watching the place, but tried to ’sneak’ outside at night, wearing a bright white shirt, while his girl stayed behind (unarmed) in a house already breached by the home-invaders.

    Seriously, it was some of the dumbest sh!t I’ve ever seen…

    Yes, this movie stretches “Based on a true story” to a new low. Somebody rang the writer’s doorbell when he was a kid. That’s about the only truth in it.

    Too bad it wasn’t 100% true, because if the writer was dead I wouldn’t have had to sit through this UNBELIEVABLE piece of crap.

    This really is a pretty scary movie, especially the first half. The previous poster is right about tension-building, it’s higher than any movie I can remember offhand. Plus the director didn’t use cheap background music score “BAM!”s to scare the audience; part of the creepiness is scenes where everything is completely silent, even while a ghost-like face just pops out of the background.

    It was directed well, and acted well. The writing could have been a bit better in the end.

    It’s worth a download, especially if you’re a horror fan.

    I wouldn’t bother dl this, quality is soooo bad! I am not that fussy and have watched alot of VHS screeners but this is unwatchable, you can bearly see anything in the darker scenes, sound very hissy and muffled picture is pixelated and very fuzzy and dark.

    the pi quality is about what you would expect from e really good Cam. Watchable but thats all I can say. I would recommend waiting for an R5 or maybe even a DVDSCR. I wonder if this isn’t a miss labeled cam….
