The Simpsons Movie DVDSCR XViD-mVs

maVensupplier already had a shot at releasing the The Simpsons Movie with a TS a couple of weeks ago but it got nuked and propered. This afternoon they are trying again and have come back strong with a very early DVDSCR! “I will not illegally download this movie” heh

Mr. X: A nice early surprise from group mVs, a group famous for its screeners and R5s. Judging from the sample, the video is clear and crisp with perfect coloring, no darkness or blurring like the TS. The audio is also impressive, much more so than the TS from PUKKA. This is the next best thing you download besides the R5, if in fact the rest of the video does not have any B/W scenes or copyright messages. I’ve gone through about half of the movie and so far there are no black and white scenes or copyright/owner messages. The only blip I can really recognize are the black ovals in the top right corner that show up for about 1/3 second. These little blips and blotches are manually placed in all films shown in the theaters anyways, I guess they do that to make it look authentic, but they’re all planted obviously. There is also a small, transparent FOXINT message that shows up occasionally for a few seconds throughout the film. This is a gem!

When Homer mistakenly pollutes the river with toxic waste from his “Pig Crap” silo, he causes the EPA to encase Springfield in a glass dome, and must save them before President Schwarzenegger gives the order for the town to be destroyed.

usenet is free, but not really
binary groups is very bandwidth consume, so it’s rare situation that any ISP want to serve alt.binaries for free to all because of high costs….

so, you must choose any unenet ISP like giganews, newshosting, astraweb, hitnews.eu,xlned …. last two are from .NL and hitnews.eu is cheapest option with 100days retention … for europeans..

then choose usenet binary client, you have a few sharewares and few freewares… then use some usenet index sites (for searching for nzbs), read faq about all that… and leech!

    August 4th, 2007 | 19:39

Do you really need to subscribe to a Usenet server to get great speeds?

Info I have read on UseNet: http://www.techsono.com/nzb/index.html

to subscribe to usenet servers you need to pay (usualy 5e-7e per month for european usenet providers or $10-$15, $20 for giganews for US usenet providers…

choosing usenet provider is to you, depend of your will to spend more or less money or what ppl say about usenet provider that you look for… all comercial usenet servers carry all binaries, and share same data through usenet… diferent is only stability of servers, reputation, speed, price plans, and retention (how days server keeps binaries before deleted it to free space for new ones)

it’s dvdscr, but i always preffer clean video without bw, warnings, logos, counters..
    so?

what is status of that one?

Scit: look what MrX wrote: in fact the rest of the video does not have any B/W scenes or copyright messages.

if this release is clean, then it’s time to download!
from usenet, ofcourse :) , because someone already put that movie at alt.binaries.movies.divx :)

anyway.. i think that someguys who want to help bittorrent comunity to get more older classics can get older movies from usenet and put it at bittorrent as seeders.. this can help to non-usenet users… usenet is full of scene releases much more than here @ bittorrent… this is reality

    41) I think it’s when a release group believe that another groups release is incorrect (i.e sound is out of sync) so they kinda repair it/ re-released it, hence nuked and propered.

what sort of markings are you refering to, i have heard this b4 but to no avail, it would cost a fortune to mark each film relating to each cinema, no-one really knows. Pearsonaly i dont think so because it would have no effect xcept sacking the manager of that particular cinema, but we all know they r on a back hander when it comes to recording cams , e.g . rent a cinema for a private birthday nudge nudge wink wink ….. Its a quiet relief to see u using P/BAY by the way b4 they r uploaded to urselves thx..

  80. August 4th, 2007 | 22:34

@ rubberduck “I would assume this is a nicely done telecine, possibly from an R5 or the likes” I think you have no idea what a Telecine is. There is NO way to make a Telecine from a R5. Region 5 DVD’s (R5) are digital. Telecine is using a machine to transfer analogue frames to a digital/electronic media. So good old film reels with frame by frame copying… (all older film and movies that are not shot on digital media, are using the telecine technique to transfer to dvd)
The DVDR is the best one to get, the xvid (700mb) version pixelates and has some ghosthing. But almost perfect release, only thing that can top it is a R1/R2 with 5.1 audio

  89. Barabbas
    August 4th, 2007 | 23:31

In addition to what splico said, the marks are in the video because for the transfer from film to a digital media the film has to be “photographed”. Afterwards you use all kinds of filters and post production to improve the image, reduce noice and remove the burn marks in the upper right corner. As in most DVD Screeners and R5s, this post-cleaning is not yet done, thats why DVD Screeners and R5s are often, but not always, inferior in their quality to final DVDRips and thats also why the marks are still there.

  93. August 5th, 2007 | 00:36

doh… that is how the film is made…. the transition from tv size to widescreen is a part of the movie, and a way of changing the look of the animation since the tv series are shown in 4:3 and this movie is in 221:100. Hope this answers your question, and yes it was like that in the movie theaters too.

  96. Bob

The fist minute is small size screen because it’s to pretend that The Simpsons are at the movies, watching a movie….that is why…then once Homer appears and it goes full screen.

how come pukka’s 1 isnt lik that

  98. Fry
    August 5th, 2007 | 01:09

kk: dont worry, that’s how it was made

    on the quality:
colouring is a bit “washed” and there’s a faint humming in the right stereo audio channel
+ mentioned oval “sigarburns” (film reel markers) in upper right and the occasional FOXINT watermark in lower left
it’s probably still Real Official DVDSCR and NOT mislabeled telecine (unofficcial copy),
yes, done with TeleCine machine to digitize from film to DVD
but without any aftertouches, that are distributed to Fox Int. partners.
Russian R5 would be without any watermarks.
not what you’d get from retail DVD copy but still great improvement compared to previous telesync/cam releases

    on bt/usenet speeds:
    screw paysites, BT is superior
got thisone with my all time record speed 1,2mb/s thanks to few swedish broadband seeders (one gave out ~700kb/s)
    (i got 1,5mb-d/100kb-u cable)
