As someone correctly predicted today in the comments DiAMOND has released the movie There Will Be Blood. As per usual DiAMOND releases the quality is great so there is no excuse for waiting any longer to download this film.

Synopsis: Director Paul Thomas Anderson’s THERE WILL BE BLOOD is a masterly, unflinching examination of a consummately evil man. Daniel Plainview (via a transcendent performance by the great Daniel Day-Lewis) is, as he likes to remind those around him, an oil man: he finds it, he drills for it, and he makes money from it. Following a tip from a visitor named Paul Sunday, whose family sits atop a veritable ocean of oil, Plainview travels to the town of New Boston, California, with his young son. Sunday’s preacher brother Eli (both roles are played by the excellent Paul Dano) grudgingly accepts Plainview’s ambitions under the condition that he help fund the town church.

    To anyone who hasn’t seen this film, be warned this is a character driven film with zero action. I went into the cinema with the wrong mind set and it ruined the film for me, however on a second viewing knowing what to expect it’s not a bad film.
    Can anyone tell me what the feck was going on with the music in places it just doesn’t work at all.

    just to clarify my above statement about the music, i don’t mean there is music missing from this release, I mean that the music playing in parts of the film are totaly wrong and off putting.

    Where on earth are they going with 779kbps for the video. And yes i know it also has AC3 5.1 audio. But lately DIAMOND releases have been sh**e with the video bitrate and especially with a 2 CD release. Wait for a 2 CD release hopefully UNSEEN will release this or some other real scene group. No offence people but DIAMOND have gone lame lately with their releases. Keep your 2 CD’s worth DIAMOND i’ll wait for a proper 2 CD release by a proper scene group or even a non scene group.

    Cool.

    Nevertheless, I think I’ll wait for the RoCK&BlueLadyRG release… they usually have very decent quality/size AC3 releases. Probably the best AC3 releases in XviD, since the other (better ones) are mostly in h264. Scene is really lagging behind in these kind of releases, with all the outdated standards…

    @BUGGER. No action scenes, fairly low total number of colors… you don’t need an especially high video bitrate to produce a good result here. I once saw Matrix Reloaded (2hrs20mns) in a 1-CD release… OK, the sound was only 112kbps stereo, but that still left a very low video bitrate. The result was spectacular. Why? Because the Matrix movies, with their washed-out green hue, have a very low total number of colors (compared with the 16 million colors your computer screen can reproduce). So the video bitrate was very lightly distributed over the non-action scenes (few colors), leaving enough to reproduce the fast action scenes with good results.
    This same logic explains DiAMOND’s recent venture into 1-CD releases - the only down-side being that you certainly won’t get AC3 5.1 sound on a 1-CD release. But after all, all this stuff is free, right? On occasion, you _COULD_ go rent the DVD.
    Fact is, DiAMOND know what they are doing. Only my opinion of course ;-)

    He’s still right Blake. It is not the first time that a torrent-link is missing, yet in the comments somebody has posted one (see #13). Posting release info also means updating the info once in a while, something that often seems to be overlooked here on rlslog.

    People DO come for the links, not just the info.

    i don’t really care whether the torrent is missing or not. it’s the wording that got me. the statement was too precise (or not): no waiting to *download* the film, it said, then down below, i was like “are you kidding me?”. still funny as hell tho hehe

    i appreciate the mighty effort the staff is doing. so thank you tons, blake, dont get me wrong. but sometimes the posts can be very amusing :)

    Umm, how come everyone seems to so casually overlook the fact that a 2CD DVDRip of this has already been released a month ago by mVs (There.Will.Be.Blood.REPACK.DVDSCR.XViD-mVs)? That one was the same reso with 1221kbps video bitrate and 124kbps VBR MP3 audio. Just because this rls is by DMD, it’s automatically better?

    xvid is always going to suck for a movie thats almost 3hrs long (unless you encode to 3 or more discs, but thats just pointless).

    get There.Will.Be.Blood.DVDR-Replica and be happy, it’s no 720 but for the type of movie it will suffice.
