Just a small update on this very highly well rated movie, that to movie was a bit boring throughout some parts, but thats just my opinion. Seems that it took a rather while for the 720p version to come around (over 2 months since the DVDRip), but hey, better late than never ;)

Quality: This movie is 158 minutes long so don’t complain about this being such a large file. SEPTiC did their thing again and got us this long movie with a kick ass bitrate of 6537kbit/s and some nice AC3 640kbit/s audio :D

In the 1890s, Daniel Plainview, a struggling silver miner, finds his true wealth in petroleum extraction while taking the orphaned child, H.W., as his own for a valuable family man image. In 1911, Plainview gets a tip on a valuable supply on the struggling Sunday family ranch in the impoverished Little Boston, California. In his quest to acquire the property, Plainview meets the sanctimonious Eli Sunday, the young reverend of the local church with his own ambitions for his diocese and the profit from the oil. As the oil wells begin, an escalating conflict arises between exploiters of many kinds while Plainview’s canny ruthlessness gradually sinks into a slowly mounting malevolent madness. In doing so, it begins to drive every emotional bond away that all the wealth he gains can never replace.

    Since this release is 720p, is there much difference between 1080p?
    I mea it’s obvious this has less resolution, but how much more will we see if this was 1080p? How will this download look on a plasma?

    @11 & @28, typical n00bs who think the higher the number, the better.. I like to think of it as with digital cameras, it’s not like the more megapixels you have, the better, OK? I prefer progressive scanned films over interlaced any day – most people won’t be able to tell the difference any day! I’ll buy this movie, it’s worth owning on Blueray :)

    I agree. This was a great film. It shows the true greed and destruction oil has caused in our nation; not just that but much more. Yes, this is a film that will take some brain cells. The actors also did an amazing job. Its really sad that this movie didn’t get as much publicity as it deserved. Then again most great things don’t.

    Hey “Unbreakable /Bmore” I think when this movie was nominated for best picture it got the most publicity it could and deserved. Thats a pretty big honor.

    If your plasma is 1080p capable, using a 720p file will be “upscaled”, and a 1080p won’t, since it’s native resolution.
    However for such a long movie you’ll get a huge file. If disc space is not the problem, 1080p will look better.
    Be sure to have a powerful computer anc CoreAVC filter, search it on rlslog.

    LOL at #44. This is an amazing movie, if you have a short attention span and are a bit “dim” stay away from this movie! Lock yourselves in a panic room or something.

    @28 720p is 1280×720 Pixels and 1080p is 1920×1080 Pixels at its best, but quality also depends on the bitrate

    To all you simpltons that didn’t like this movie. Go watch Transformers or Spiderman 3(by far one of the weakest comic book movies ever) and eat your popcorn. We don’t want you to hurt yourself by thinking too hard about this great movie. Only reason this wasn’t Best Movie is because the Cohen Bros. are just too hard to beat. If you think the 3 hours it took to watch this movie was a waste of time, think about the hours of labor your mothers went through just to have a braindead babies like yourselves. Give it a rest! This movie is the best ever, besides the ones I make with your wives/mothers.

    Yup, it sure was booring.

    Production values however were awesome and acting wasent that bad either :) exluding the soundtrack which will make you gag and in the long run, deaf.

    Previously mentioned Rambo, Spiderman, Transformers and Iron man have all one thing in common, they are entertaining. So excuse me for asking to be entertained while watching ENTERTAINMENT ffs!

    And about the “spoilers”, for smart people you are really really dumb if you dont see that coming.
