The Wire S05E01 PDTV XviD-NoTV

One of the very popular shows returns in its fifth season. The Wire, aired on HBO, is a police drama taking place in Baltimore, Maryland and I already received a loads of emails asking about it. Although critics really love this show and it has been awarded by titles as “best TV show” by magazines like Times, it somehow fails to attract wider audience. Anyway, here’s the first episode in high-bitrate 550 MB release from NoTV.

Plot: As McNulty and the detail continue to stake out Marlo’s crew, recently promoted Sgt. Carver is welcomed by a cauldron of discontent from officers coping with unpaid overtime; Though he wants to keep his campaign promise to lower crime, Mayor Carcetti is strapped by his commitment to schools, and faces some tough choices; Col. Daniels is forced to reallocate his resources, retaining Freamon and Sydnor for the Clay Davis probe.

    G-man, the whole season is *not* out there floating around. 7 episode screeners *have* leaked, but there either missing 3 and 4, or do not contain the last three (8, 9, 10).

    If you think you know any different, please enlighten us.

    This series is amazing – every episode is a masterpiece, its easy to see why it isnt very popular though as it is intelligent, political and requires thought and attention from the viewer. As many Americans are borderline illiterate and are used to fast paced nonsense, jumpcutting and corporate propaganda, The Wire would simply confuse and confound them.

    If all you take away from The Wire is too much sex and swearing, then there’s something wrong with you. Mainly, that you’re not catching the majority of the plot.

    Plus, there’s like 1 or 2 sex scenes per *season*.

    Yep. Season 1 is a must. You can skip season 2. Season 3 and 4 are killer. I may just have to go back and rewatch them to get myself pumped up for this season.

    @Enola – There has never been any explicit or unnecessary sexual content on “The Wire” that has not been absolutely crucial to overall plot development, so stop being such a prude. As for the language, it’s Baltimore – cops, dealers, politicians – if you have ever been exposed to any of these you’d know that the language they use is raw and uncensored. As for the show being overrated, that’s nonsense. It is impossible to overrate “The Wire.”

    @Lipsore – Skip season 2? Are you nuts? Season 2 was when the show announced that it wasn’t going to be just another cops and robbers show; that it was willing to dig deeper into urban infrastructure and failing social systems.

    as much as i liked the docks storyline in itself i thought it took away from the series as a whole. The whole shadowy ‘Greek’ operating like the omnipotent chessmaster, and his dodgy hat and everything just rang a little false and Blofeldy. That said, that element is possibly making a comeback this season so itll be important.

    But anyway, you gotta watch season 2 for the Barksdale plot so its a moot point.

    This show is very accurate; most of the scenes in this show are actual cop spots, pack drop points , and feeders. I’ve been to a number of spots that they actually film at; although the drug infestation isn’t as high as it used to be in those spots. A lot of what they portray in this show actually happens or did happen at one point in time. Now as far as Baltimore being the “dirtiest” city in the USA I don’t think thats true. Baltimore does however have the most heroin usage and sale than any other city in the USA. It used to be alot worse but now with the introduction of Buprenorphine, Suboxone, and Methadone heroin addicts are able to get off without all the withdraw shiet being to heavy. Today heroin purity in Baltimore has gone strait to shiet; leading to more crime though. The Wire is a great show that shows some of the truth behind this city in ruin.

    People always overlook Season 2 but it’s just as good as any other season. Really, watch every season or else you’ll have no clue what’s going on. Best show ever, for sure!
