The Who Live at Kilburn 1977 HDTV XviD-FQM

Group FQM released a slightly unusual TV rip: it’s not a TV show this time, but a concert of famous British band The Who. This is a remastered version of their performance in Kilburn in 1977. If you like the old good rock, this is a must see, the atmosphere is amazing.

On December 15, 1977, after a hiatus of over a year, The Who assembled at the Gaumont State Theatre in Kilburn, North London to record a concert for Jeff Steins documentary film The Kids Are Alright. Shot before a select invited audience, it would turn out to be Keith Moons last but one live performance. This concert has never been released, and has since been digitally restored and remastered.

I think this is the only poplar band that I didn’t like from the 60-70’s. I think they were vastly overrated. More King Crimson torrents plz.

    Agreed @ 2

The Who is nothing special. Very cheesy songs and lyrics. What about the Kinks ? How come they were so overlooked.

Pete Townsend was the real MOD in the band and tbh when they became The Who they had pretty much sold out, they were previously called The Detours and thats when they were true MOD, probably the first couple of singles were MOD and after that they went pop. Still one of the greatest bands though.

Is it me or is this site going downhill? for a while now stuff has been announced and no torrent site appears or any RS links.

It seems like they are posting things for the sake of it to complete with the breakaway group.

So, has anyone got any legit torrent or rs links?

@14 get a clue and get some taste. King Crimson were the pioneers of prog rock, what did the who do? Follow in the footsteps of the BEatles…lol.

King Crimson originated a boring bloated style of prog rock that was thankfully largely flushed down the toilet with the arrival of punk. The Who were a great pop/rock n roll band who had their own punky style. Co-incidentally Keith Moon reviewed an early single of Giles, Giles and Fripp (early King Crimson) and trashed it in Melody Maker.

    September 15th, 2008 | 03:45

    The Who does suck.
While I can understand an appreciation of Keith Moon and the early connection to the Mods, I have scientific evidence that proves unequivocally that the Who suck. And I’m not just saying they are bad, like the Eagles. Or suck-y, like Rush. I am saying that they are the rock equivalent of dark matter. They are one of the suckiest bands in the history of rock.

The Who have maybe one good song out of their entire catalog. King Crimson for that matter made the best album of 1969. if it wasn’t for King Crimson bands like Tool, Meshuggah, etc in fact half the worlds bands wouldn’t be around. KC is the most influential band in the history of music do some research you Who? loving teenyboopers. The Who’s music was the equivalent of Nickelback at the time.

@25, yah and punk was the worst thign to happen to music. Am I rite?
If The Who were the godfathers of punk, then we can thank them for bands like Sum41 and all the other “scenester” bands that deprive the world of much needed oxygen.

    @27 and @28

Pink Floyd and or Led Zeppelin kicks King Crimson’s candy ass. Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon is so great of a piece of a musical masterpiece that to this day it is still on the Billboard charts since the day it was released in 1973. The Who held the Guiness Book of World Records for a long time for the LOUDEST ROCK CONCERT EVER PERFORMED. Also David Gilmour the former lead guitar player and singer of Pink Floyd put on the BEST Live concert I have seen in the last 5 years at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, NY in 2006 and this is coming from someone who has seen Pink Floyd Live in concert over 50 times since the early 1970’s. I have also seen The Who 14 times as well and my 1st ever concert when I was 12 years old was in 1973 at Madison Square Garden when Led Zeppelin performed and Filmed “The Song Remains The Same” concert. So if you want to talk crap get your facts straight LOSERS. Oh and I was at O2 Arena when Led Zeppelin reunited recently. You youger people today have NO TASTE in music all you listen to is wannabe crap bands who will NEVER be better then Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin EVER.

King Crimson released the best album of 1969????

Better than Abbey Road by The Beatles, Let it Bleed by The Stones, Led Zep I & II, Everybody Knows This is Nowhere by Neil Young, Nashville Skyline by Bob Dylan, The Stooges debut, Tommy by The Who, The Velvets self-titled album, I Say a Little Prayer by Aretha Franklin?

Jeez man, you gotta get off that stuff!!

King Crimson should be shot for disservices to music.

They are responsible for inspiring thousands of complete tossers, who would otherwise be propping up front bars of pubs around the world (boring the ears off other complete tossers), to play 500 notes when 1 would have done. And to bloat songs out to 10 times the necessary length in the belief that more is somehow profound.

They are the musical equivalent of a nagging back fence gossip who just goes on and on and on in the delusional belief that what they are saying is worth repeating ad nauseam. The kindest thing that can be said about them is that, in certain circumstances, they are a very effective replacement for sleeping medication (and completely non-addictive too!).

Hey @34 did Keith Moon do a 20 minute drum solo? No. Did Bonham? YES. So who’s better? JOHN BONHAM THATS WHO! What the hell did Keith Moon do besides be a tosser and break his drumset? Listen to Moby Dicck, you Dicck. End rant.

5 MOST OVERRATED BANDS OF ALL TIME
    4. The Who. This has nothing to do with the fact that “The Who” (i.e., Daltrey and Townshend) are releasing an album of sorts this year. Townshend was loud, he jumped around on stage, he broke his guitars, he wrote a good rock opera. Keith Moon was a crazy drummer. Roger Daltry had a couple of good shrieks in him. The argument that they were the progenitors of modern punk falls pretty flat; take away Moon’s frenetic drumming and you have…The Kinks.

The last paragraph made me LOL, so true.

Pretty amazing this Kilburn show. Keith is looking a little soft around the edges at this point but does a fine job with the sticks. Roger Daltrey is just one of the, if not the thee, best rock frontmen to date. John Entwistle reaffirmed his standing among the great electric bass players in the business. Townshend, while very enthusiastic and animated, is a bit overblown here(pilled?), but manages a handful of shining moments, and his songs are top shelf. All in all, a strong showing and quite a representative WHO show.

BTW, I like King Crimson and I also like The Who. Which band was better? It just depends on the mood of the day, ya know? I have had the chance to see both bands recently….The Who are now a better studio band than a live performance band, but not bad at all…..King Crimson just plain sucked. Back when both were primed, The Who was clearly better in concert. But they both did their own thing very well, IMO. So lets fight nice children, or your precious keyboards will be taken away.
