Finally a movie I’ve been waiting for! From group F1(never heard of them). The Water Horse. It has a nice 6.6 rating from imdb and $45,000,000 budget so you know the movie’s good! It’s also been nominated for 2 awards! Its set in Scotland during WWII. I also here its based on the Loch Ness monster tall tale, so I guess well have to see if thats true:) Now to the release:

Quality: Very clear Xvid video and nice AC3 5.1 ch. audio! Video bitrate: 1296 kb/s Audio bitrate: 448 kb/s.

THE WATER HORSE: LEGEND OF THE DEEP is set in Scotland during World War II, and focuses on Angus (Alex Etel), a young boy who discovers an unusual egg at Loch Ness. When the egg hatches to reveal a dinosaur-like creature, Angus finds that he has a unique pet–a mythical “water horse,” which he names Crusoe. Complicating matters are Crusoe’s fast growth rate and soldiers stationed near the lake, factors that make it very tricky to keep the friendly beastie a secret.

    1. upload pics to tinypic as they dont delete pics
    2. include the full synopsis not just the one sentence summary

    We took our kids to see this and it was delightful. They all (ages 5 through 15) enjoyed it as did my wife and I. I was surprised how engaging it was.

    Yeah, kennii. Budget doesn’t mean too much. It does mean that there is 45mil worth of effort involved, however it still could be a POS. Some directors and just useless. Look at Uwe Boll. Most of his work is just sub par.

    The film’s budget is like lord of the rings, return of the king. That 3 hour and 35 minute EPIC film was made for less than 100 million! Yes, all those realistic effects, less than 100. The reason, WETA (I think) and the fact that it is filmed in New Zealand where it costs less to make something because everything is cheaper

    They just came off a strike so you are going to have crappy stuff till they get back in the grove. That is why the new “Iron man” with a real life drug addict lush playing the main character in a mock up suit that looks nothing like the original marvel character even WITH his many makeovers, nor does the story line work either as the character was created during Vietnam…not during Iraq.

    They have seemingly run out of ideas. For example they are going to redo my most favorite movie of all time “The Day the Earth Stood Still” with Kenue Reeves as Klaatu (wonder who they are gonna get to play the 7 foot plus tall Robot Gort) and you know Reeves canot hold a candle to Reamy (the original actor who played Klaatu) as Reeves constantly looks like he is zonked out of his mind. But you have to give them credit for trying.

    for something that’s provided for free… you would think people would be a little more appreciative towards those taking the time to make the posts and provide the links…

    constructive criticism and intelligent opinions regarding the movies posted are great because it can be a deciding factor towards another downloading it or nots… but simpleton remarks like “this movie sucks balls” or the idiotic ones about the poster have no value whatsoever so why bother…

    in short if you don’t have intelligent thoughts that may be beneficial… why not simply do the if you don’t like it don’t download it and stfu…

    WHat was an even more pleasant surprise was that although it was a 1.6gb film, it came as 1 1.4gb file !

    When are more people going to do this. I have never copied half a film onto a cd and then the other half onto another.

    When will the “scene” recognise 1 file copies of 1.4gb films ?

    RLSLOG, can you do a survey to see if users would like to see the introduction of 1.6gb+ single files and the end to 2×700mb (obviously still keep the single 700mb versions)

    and the two cd thing works nicely for poor suckers like me stuck on a mediocre bandwidth… download cd1.. watch, and by the time that played out cd2 is just finishing… toilet and munchie break while it unrars then continue watching… THEN, i join them… seems like a GOOD system to me :P…

    A budget of $45,000,000 does not mean it is good..

    @70. Good point.

    My main annoyance with the 2 file thing is:

    1) when people use VBR audio and I need to use virtualdub to change them both to CBR audio and then join. This creates an extra 2 files, then the final file and then you have to delete 4 files.

    2) Subtitles..I hate trying to join srt files.

    @ 82… the 700mb was a little too blocky for me too even pass off to the kids.. ended up grabbing the 2cd in the end… so no… wouldn’t recommend it

    Used to have the same annoyance. To join files use Fast AVI MPEG Joiner. Then Subtitle Workshop. Hope this helps; works great for me.

    I agree. Who would burn a movie on 2 cd’s. Does not make sense. I’m I missing something? Dvd burners are cheap peps.

    A sweet family flick brought in great(!) A/V quality. We’re in the HiDef now and it looked very good on my 1080p HDTV. I prefer rips like these over one-CD 700 MB versions anyday.
