The War On Democracy 2007 DVDRip XviD-NOsegmenT

A well rated Documentary appears on the scene thanks to mostly TV group NOsegmenT. The film has 8.3/10 with 259 votes. The film exposes the true nature of the so-called ‘war on terror’ run by the greed and power of the worlds elite. Interviews with ex-CIA agents were videoed which provide credible evidence that supports that the US gov. took part in secret campaigns to overthrow democratic governments. The film is set both in Latin America and the United States, and explores the historic and current relationship of Washington with countries such as Venezuela, Bolivia and Chile. You should grab this if you are into history, politics, current events or conspiracy. Note: this release has not leaked out to p2p yet. Until then no NFOs, snaps, or details.

Award winning journalist John Pilger examines the role of Washington in America’s manipulation of Latin American politics during the last 50 years leading up to the struggle by ordinary people to free themselves from poverty and racism. Since the mid 19th Century Latin America has been the ‘backyard’ of the US, a collection of mostly vassal states whose compliant and often brutal regimes have reinforced the ‘invisibility’ of their majority peoples. The film reveals similar CIA policies to be continuing in Iraq, Iran and Lebanon. The rise of Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez despite ongoing Washington backed efforts to unseat him in spite of his overwhelming mass popularity, is democratic in a way that we have forgotten or abandoned in the west. True Democracy being a solid 80% voter turnout in support of Chavez in over 6 elections.

Jesus Christ is this VivaChavez character for real? so much ideology with so little facts, oh well Darwin’s law always takes care of people like that, if we survived Stalin’s and Pol Pot’s western supporters and idiots who cheered Eastern European communist regimes we’ll survive the current crop and their pocket-sized wannabe-dictator darlings too

and as for percentages isn’t it funny that none of these idiots mentions Saddam’s or Milosevic’s 99-104% overwhelming support any longer as a proof of just how loved they were by their respective nations :)

talking about 99% supports, looking forward to the day when Cubans will be truly free and not the prisoners they are now

    @ Johnny
“Don’t post selective ‘facts’ without putting them in context. Chavez told the oil workers not to strike as it would be damaging to the nation, and said that anyone striking would lose their jobs.”

First of all, that’s not what Johnny was talking about, so he’s missed no context.

Secondly, you apparently think this “context” makes Chavez look better not worse.

Johnny was talking about the fact that if you signed the petition to recall Chavez and force another vote on his presidency — a document which was the embodiment of democracy — Chavez took all those names and had those participating in the democratic process banned from holding a job in a state-run nation.

Try offerring some context for that sunshine. Try even offerring a favourable comparison. Even a hypothetical one.

Try saying that if Bush took the names of every registered democrat who voted in the 2004 elections, banned them from holding a government job, along with anyone who went on strike, along with anyone working for a media outlet unkind to him, that would be okay and worth defending because……… ?

    Write it.
This is Mr Democracy you are supposed to be defending. Can you even put him in a favourable light in comparison to Bush when it comes to democracy ?

You need to brush up on either your reading or comprehension “prof”. The facts you mention bear no relation to what I wrote.

The hypothetical I mentioned in relation to Bush was quite clear. It referred to taking the names of all the opposition supporters who voted against him and banning them from holding a job in a nation where most jobs are state-run.

Did Bush do this ? If he had, should his dedication to democracy (using voter rolls to purge opponents form the workforce) be applauded like it is for Chavez ?

This is what I challenged you to post. So far you haven’t been able to, or more likely, realised that you are unable to so you’ve avoided doing that.

yes, your darling Chavez REALLY DID DO THAT it is not US propaganda like you halfwits usually claim

trying to debate people like VivaChavez or you is WAY too time consuming and, well, pointless - brainwashed people do not respond to reasons anyway. It’s enough that we beat you at elections _every_ _single_ _time_ - and that real history of the real world is never kind to you and your “ideas” just watch what happened when Eastern Europe freed itself from communism, every nation deserves freedom and a chance to live in liberty and wealth, people are finally living their lives to the full after decades of communist bleakness and same will happen in Cuba and Venezuela once their dictators are removed :)

also get ready to post more silly whining links to RS articles yelling “STOLEN!!!” in November when

Ask Poles Czechs Hungarians, or South Koreans after WW2

also, Stan, I guess you now see it’s useless to try and get a straight answer from “prof.” and comparable characters because there IS no answer which would leave their darling dictator looking kosher and these losers know it ;)

I am American and many of us do understand that the government strategically tries to place democracy in some countries but it serves the U.S. government better to keep some countries in chaos. The U.S. just throws that word around to give them an excuse to go do what they want.

And yes, there are a lot of dumb ass people in this country who can’t seem to see the obvious. The media here is so powerful that the less sophisticated people in the middle of the country easily get brainwashed.

“…your shameful brushing aside of your countries election rigging speaks volume…

Except I’ve brushed it aside because it related neither to what I was talking about, nor Chavez, a prominant “pro-democracy” figure in this documentary. There is a reason I wrote about this and not the space shuttle you nimrod.

If you raise the issue of the fired US attorneys I will brush that aside for the same reason.

You on the other hand responded to me talking about Chavez banning people from the workforce for voting against him, said I’ve got my facts wrong because you found a webpage that features neither the words “Chavez” nor “Venezuela” and since then have not even acknowledged what I referred to.

Wiki is the best you can do??/Hardly factual now mate..

    a public outcry by Sumate??
For those who dont know, Sumate is a Bush financed “NGO”, founded by Maria Corina Machado..

“Their controversial role conducting flawed exit polls during the referendum—specifically criticized by the Carter Center and OAS observation missions in Venezuela—and their subsequent rejection of the referendum results, though both the Carter Center and the OAS declared them to be free and fair, have cast doubt on Súmate’s professed “neutrality.” When asked why Súmate has worked exclusively with the Venezuelan opposition since its inception in 2002, Machado said that their overtures to the government were regularly rebuffed. She did not specify whether her presence at the swearing-in of the illegal government of Pedro Carmona during a short-lived April 2002 coup may have sullied her reputation with Chávez’s government.”

You will remember the US financed kidnapping of Chavez??
After the kidnapping, and before his release due to people power, the very same Sumate founder, as mentioned above, wasa in attendance at the illegal US backed junta’s swearing in ceremony…
Scumbags??Dictator?Hmmm….i sense you are the one with the lobotomy mate if that is the basis of your argument….a biased report from a bush backed former friend of the illegal junta??

    More on Sumate….factual of course..

Groups like Súmate, the NED, USAID, Development Alternatives Incorporated (the consulting firm distributing US-beneficence in Venezuela) are not so much interested in promoting democracy—if they were they’d be more impressed by the nine elections Chávez has won in the past six years—as they are in promoting a particular limited form of democracy that dovetails nicely with capitalist globalization—what William Robinson calls “low-intensity democracy.”

In a forthcoming interview with Venezuelanalysis.com, Robinson states it plainly: “This is a full-blown operation, a massive foreign-policy operation to undermine the Venezuelan revolution, to overthrow the government of Hugo Chávez, and to reinstall the elite back in power in Venezuela.” “‘Democracy promotion’ will continue unhindered,” says Robinson, “and if the chance and the opportunity arises for…Venezuela to be isolated by international organizations such as the Organization of American States (OAS), the United Nations, and so forth, then the US will go ahead and promote that type of diplomatic aggression.”

Is Machado launching a presidential bid backed and organized, like her ideological predecessors Aquino and Chamorro, by Washington? Maybe. But a more likely scenario in the short-term is the Súmate-led formation of a Venezuelan civic alliance, a key component of any anti-Chávez strategy hiding behind the cynical rhetoric of democracy.

sounds like you guys to me…remember, venezuela is a democracy boys…in the true sense, not the US sense…

You guys call this brainwashing? Surely you’ve never watched Fox News, then.

Many conspiracy theories aren’t true, of course, but it’s 100% certain that the US has fed right-wing military dictators into Latin America during the mid-late 20th century to counter the leftist tendency that was rising here, even if it was mostly made of legitimate democratic governments, not communist ones. That period of time has dented my life (I’m brazilian) and will still affect a few generations to come, but I don’t hold a grudge against the americans, because it’s past history already. But now they’re making the same mistake elsewhere and then, unfortunately, it’s only natural that anti-americanism spreads around the world like forest fire. It’s a shame, but that’s the way it goes.

I’m curious where this democracy is that is being warred upon. To the best of my knowledge there is not a single true democracy currently anywhere in the world. And with good reason, pure democracy is a Very Bad Thing ™. To use the old chestnut “Democracy is three wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner”.

Since the United States is a Representative Republic and not, by any remote stretch of the imagination or anyone’s intention, a democracy, I can safely assume that this has nothing to do with the US. So where is this democracy that is being warred upon?

For what it’s worth, pedantry is way more fun (and, when faced with so much concentrated ignorance, so easy) than tinfoil hat selling, you really should try it.

The problem here is that everyone is comparing country to country, as if those geographical designations made discrete units.

The REAL division is the world is between the wealthy and the poor - it’s the wealthy that want us to line up behind them in terms of nationality/political system. They’re the ones who want us to go to war against one another to further their own agenda. THEY’RE the ones who want use blindly saluting and beating our chests and publicly praising the virtues of our nation. In reality, the only thing that separates nations is their size. China isn’t much different from the U.S. really - it’s run by a select few who hold the most power and compel the rest of the poorer people in the country to be “patriotic” enough to do things that, ultimately, are NOT in their own best interests. Meanwhile, enough income trickles down to create a middle-class who have enough to be comfortable and extremely protective of the system (they believe) has allowed them to lead comfortable lives. In our own countries, they’re keeping us from organizing by allowing a small percentage of us to be prosperous. Globally, they keep us from organizing by feeding the fires of “patriotism” and convincing us that our enemies are all in different countries.

our TRUE enemies are our so-called leaders.

And how would the US get closer to this true democracy that Venezeula has?
Presumably having the head of state stage a coup to take power then engage in suppression of media, populist pandering, punishment of political opponents and trying to remove term limits to allow a president-for-life situation would all be desirable measures for Bush to pursue towards this “true democracy”.

Confucius says without knowledge on both sides one can not have greater understanding. Open your eyes to the suffering of the world and find out whom really controls the economy. CIA’s have always sent out propaganda even before the Vietnam war. Kennedy was against these covert operations and assassinated because of his views on shutting down clandestine operations. My father was approached by CIA officers during the Vietnam WAR, in Saigon. White guys with hawaiian Shirts on speaking fluent Vietnamese, wanting to know if he would go to the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs to be a pilot. I still have pics and proof.

That being said, impeach Bush and Cheney and all their cronies.

Totally agree with you. My father was abducted by aliens in the late 50’s, and these were not the typical green men in a spaceship aliens. No, they were wearing suits and hung out in jazz bars. As it turns out, the aliens were working for the CIA.

Once they abducted my father, they asked him to join their anti-communism forces, and of course my father told them he would not. This just goes to show that you never know who is working with this American government.

For these reasons, I believe we should impeach Bush and the oil companies. Space aliens need oil too, and we are not being fair to them.

Let us not forget during Hurricane Katrina that the “evil” Dictator Castro offered to send their own doctors and help to the people of New Orleans before FEMA even went there to investigate. Once Bush and “way to go Brownie” realize what a disaster it was they finally sent help a week later.

Who are the real terrorist in Iraq now? You can not take over a Country and think there will not be any civilian and military casualties. The US needs to pull out all of our troops and let the civil war over there create there own Government. But WAIT, that would mean Halliburton which Cheney still gets a paycheck from, does not make ammunition and supplies for the troops so that they can charge the US Tax payers Billions a month. Cheney and is creating generational wealth from this WAR. But yet kids and families go hungry every day without proper health care and food. And people are losing their homes thanks to Greedy Corporations.

Just wanted to let you know that as an American, I can confirm that there are no kids or families going hungry without proper health care and food in the US. We have social programs in place for the poor, including both food stamps and Medicare. These programs feed the poor and supply medical care for the poor. Things are fine for the poor in the US.

At Adonis, medical bills are the number one cause of bankruptcy in the US. Foreclosures are on the rise. We had a surplus when Clinton left the office that we could afford to give more money to the welfare system. Now we are trillions of dollars in debt to the WAR.

    At Ankle, good one mate.
Nguyen Ai Quoc “Ho Chi Minh” actually asked the US government, President Truman for help to kick the French out of Vietnam. However, since the French were Allies to the US, Truman said sorry no Thanks. So who did he turn to? Russia, where Ho Chi Minh went to University to learn Communism. On paper communism sounds better to a poverty stricken farmer than does “democracy”. Well, we all know how that WAR ended, thousands of US lives and millions of Vietnamese lives lost. But wait, wow the US mission to Free the world of Communism really did not affect the US at all. Now, most of your goods are being manufactured in Vietnam. Communism was just the vehicle that Ho Chi Minh used to get the oppressors out of their country. Much the same way as Bush uses terrorism to get the US to back his own agendas. False flags and propaganda is the way of the US…Wake up and see where your “shrinking dollars” are used.
Did you know the majority of Oil that we use is actually coming from Texas. Exxon made Billions of dollars in “profit” in one quarter yet we pay over $3 dollars per gallon. Ask yourself why? Is it supply versus demand? http://www.cnbc.com not a news site but a business site.

Being an Old Fart and thank goodness there are some of us around….. I’m able give testimony that this movie actually talks about the real facts… I still remember much of what is referenced …. Anybody claiming Anti-American issues is just ill informed or has a preconceived position to protect.. This movie is not anti-American its anti bad behavior..!!! I was lucky to live in a country where the news less bent and twisted to fit positions taken. South/central America has been devastated by many years of US bad behavior. Thank goodness the US Nasties have nowhere to hide anymore they have so much to answer for. The people of the US can’t believe the atrocities perpetrated in their name by their own government… but that doesn’t make it so… these awful things did indeed happen and sadly we need to talk about them so they don’t happen again……

    @ Tony-

Hate is such a bad word. I dislike the Bush administration and their agenda. As for the Democratic system in the 60’s, I do not think, if Kennedy were alive we would have went to WAR in Vietnam. If you want me to Hate something, I think i hate War machines thinly Veiled as terrorism. Nothing gets people worked up as to fear that the democracy and freedom is intruded upon. However, with this fear and control of our big Government we are even more sheltered and isolated from other Countries. I think Diplomacy is a way to work out our differences. Not through War and pressure. When Mccain sang Bomb, bomb Iran, that is evidence that the US Government (Republicans) want to continue world dominance through WAR. Whatever, happened to being apart of the UN and getting Countries to work with another through Dialogue and not force. It is like the playground bully that picks on the kid that is different and forces him to do things his way only.

As much as I hate the republicans, I have to take exception with this praise of Chavez democracy and the statistics supporting it wherein among other problems, opposition media outlets are banned. Kim Jong Il claims 99% of voters, therefore he must be the most democratic head of state in history. EU courts have just last week awarded American oil companies billions in Venezuelan assets for Chavez democratic acts. This “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” philosophy should be obviously flawed to such eager critics of American foreign policy.

The native americans lost the wat, and that is how they lost their land. It was won fair and square by the European settlers of North America.

If the native americans would have fought back a little better, they wouldn’t have lost.
    —————————-
Frank, YOU need to learn history a WHOLE lot better before you open your mouth on it again. The Black Hills of the Dakota’s were given to my brothers in a treaty signed by the President. And yet when gold was discovered…the treaty was broken and my tribal brothers were forced out of the land that was theirs by legal right. My tribe, The Cherokee; had democracy and laws and a government when your ancestors were still painting themselves blue and picking lice off their heads while living in caves in Europe! In fact, most of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights was copied after the Cherokee Articles that we used to govern ourselves with for more time then Europe had Kings.

So the next time you say that if we had fought harder..think twice and keep your mouth shut. In fact right now if we wanted to we Indians could claim every inch of land from the Western part of Ohio down to the Gulf and over to the east coast and back up to Maryland with the treaties that were signed into law by US Presidents…and there would not be a thing you could do to stop us. Dont believe it? Check with Hartford Conn, the whole downtown is claimed by an Indian tribe and nothing can be built or taxed nor sold till this is decided in a court. Yet another tribe by Buffalo NY is claiming all lands from Buffalo to Albany, from the northern part of the state to the Penn state line. And if they are successful, then New York will be cut into two states. In Oregon and Washington, my Indian brothers made the states give them back whaling rights, and the Feds upheld that decision. In every state of the Union I can go and pick up Bald Eagle feathers and have them. Yet if you even so much as get within 200 yards of a nesting set, YOU can face a $5000 fine and 10 years in prison.

We have our own laws and government and dont pay taxes on anything we buy, nor do we have to. I and my children can go to College anywhere in the US for free and each month I get a paycheck from the US Government just because I am Indian. This is rent money for the land you took.

What you dont understand is that you may have won the battles, but WE won the war.

yep, you are ignorant. The major problem with your rant is that there ARE NO Palestinians! They did not exist until well after 1949. In fact if you check with the libraries in the Arab countries, they have artifacts clearly showing that a kingdom called the “Kingdom of David” and the Kingdom of Judeah existed where Israel sits now well back to before 3500BC.

I have a good deal of time for Chavez and Fidel although I do wish Snr Chavez would realise that personality cult leadership is so 20th century. But if anyone doubts the level of Venezualian democracy, they would be wise to remember that when the ruling party held a referendum and didn’t get their two thirds result, they accepted it. They didn’t pretend they had got the vote or otherwise corrupt the election.

Unlike recent amerikan elections they didn’t disenfranchise one sector of the community who they knew would vote against them.

eg Florida and Ohio where african amerikans were turned away from the polling booths on beat up accusations of being a felon. There are a number of surnames which have been adopted by disproportionate numbers of african amerikans eg Jefferson. Any african amerikan with one of those surnames was turned away by republican scrutineers in polling booths in republican controlled states such as Florida or Ohio. Later when those disenfranchised got their day in court it transpired the lists of felons were totally inaccurate. Oh what a pity it is too late to fix this the election is over.

Amerika is moving back to the old pre civil rights system of denying aftican amerikans the vote. This is the home of democracy?

That said I can’t help but notice the number of posts attacking amerikan imperialism from english, australian and canadian contributors who appear to have forgotten their soldiers are in Iraq and or Afghanistan killing unwhite humans in order to secure whitefella hegemony over ME oil supplies too. I find their criticism of amerikans a bit rich since their countries are at it too. You need to sort out yer own fat old white men who want to rule the world before you tell others to deal to theirs.

Dad Burn, you have to be the BIGGEST DUMBS%$T I have ever had the displeasure to read!!

For your information you ignorant loudmouth, according to the Federal Civil Rights Commission (run by Democrats by a 5 to 4 seat with the 5 being liberals and Democrats) they stated that..and I will quote slowly so as to let this sink in to that concrete block you call a head “We have found that no minority that wished to vote and was in line to vote, was denied the right to vote anywhere in the 2000 election. In fact the myth of minorities being turned away from voting booths in Ohio and Florida were exactly that. An unproven myth. In our investigation we found no evidence of this happening.” unquote. That slow enough for you bunky?? Or are you now calling the Minorities that head this federal commission “liars” because it does not fit your racist and obscene statements?

Keep it up bunky, if a democrat wins the election and the hate crimes bill that Kennedy has introduced becomes law, statements like the one you just made without any proof will get you 5 to 10 in a federal lock up.

Wolfin, do you usually walk around with your head up your arse?

let’s see..hmmm. Iraq invaded a country they said they owned. We were asked to help but were told by the UN NOT to go into baghdad and remove Saddam, so we didnt (and the left as well as people like you keep bringing this up and do not bother to see that were were told NOT to do this or we would face the same sanctions) Then the UN passed resolution 1441 and it stated that Saddam was to give a complete accounting of ALL military might as well as ALL checmicals and WMD’s. IF ANY were left and were not accounted for and found later, then the US would have FULL UN AUTHORITY to go in and remove Saddam. You would know this if you bothered to read once in a while instead of just parroting the crap from the 9-11 nutcases like loose change producers and the DNC.

Saddam did not comply as you can clearly see by the finding of planes and labs and chemicals buried in the sand…items that were NOT on the list.

Since he did not comply, we did as we were authorized to do. And need I remind you bunky, the Senate voted to authorize this on the same info that Bush got from the Foreign Governments, so if you think something was done wrong…then YOU need to scream at your Senator and Congressman and not let them pass the buck as Bush could not have done this WITHOUT their permission.

I sorry I’m Canadian, people don’t hate us.If you watch the documentary of this thread you will actually see that the U.S. only interferes with countries that they have a stake in. Remember WW2 you were happy to sit of the sidelines selling arms to the participants making billions until you were attacked (Pearl Harbor) then you joined, so don’t give me this righteous bull crap about defending democracy. We all know there is oil in Iraq.

@Kyle find it as ridiculous as you want and put people’s desire for a fair shot at a humane existence as you want, your right wing parroting has killed your fascist party for the next 20 years. Now go stage your Ruby Ridge and let the non sociopaths fix your mess.

15% of people think they’re the wealthiest 5%, 50% of people have IQ’s below 100. Half of the afforementioned stupid can succesfully vote. Subtract %5 for the percentage of the self proclaimed wealthiest 15% who don’t measure their well being based on how many people are and how much poorer the rest of the coutry is and you have the 35% of Americans that make up the republican party.

dan, the US put Saddam in power, like you guys did not know who he was? You trained the guy!!!
My god you are so in need of information my child…
BTW, nobody authorized the US to do crap; the fact that you guys used their country as a liaison to defeat your enemy at the time, and then decided to take over for the oil and used your little “terrorist attack” to invade a country with no relation to that “attack” comes to show that you just watch FOX news my unborn little tiny child.
You have nothing to worry, we, outside the US, have plenty of reasons not to be hated at all. Oh and, people HATE your GOV, not you in particular, but then again, the majority of the people DID elect those assess in DC didn’t they? Ups NOT, can you say electoral fraud?
So, you see, it is a little more complicated that “WE RULE YOU DON’T” mentality. Then again, most people are mindless sheep.
    Go pasture.. baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    @many

    http://www.hrw.org/backgrounder/usa/incarceration/

the statistics shown there mean there’s something very wrong somewhere. fact is, there is no clear line between good and bad… good in one setting may very well be bad in another… one thing we western people should consider is that we cannot project our christian democracies on other cultures, whether true democratic or corporate ruled…
