This is one of the first History Channel shows that hasn’t been dumbed down. I’ve always considered the History Channel to be the dumbed-down version of Discovery, TLC ect. It probably gets higher ratings though, by correctly assuming the mainstream can’t handle anything that requires even the tiniest amount of brainpower. 1/4 of Americans think the sun revolves around the earth, and the percentage that denies evolution is even higher, I think a lot higher. But this is a good space show, as good as PBS.

The only gripe I have about this series is that although well intentioned, the release group’s decision to make it “widescreen” cut off parts of the screen important in some episodes where text and parts of images are. Not a really big problem, but I grumbled when I first noticed. hehe ^_^

I have watched the 3 first ep of this show, and it’s quite nice.. Tough, the old “hyperspace” with sam o’niel is better.. these are differently informative…
