The Ultimate Gift DVDSCR XviD-ViTE

ViTE strikes back with another great release. Their dvd screener of The Ultimate Gift will become popular for sure, because this movie looks pretty good. I’m wondering how it’s possible I either haven’t heard about it yet, or haven’t seen some telesync or cam. There aren’t any AAA actors involved in the cast but it’s the story which makes some film a good one…

Jason thought his inheritance was going to be the gift of money and lots of it. Was he ever in for a big surprise. Based on the best-selling book “The Ultimate Gift” by Jim Stovall, the story sends trust fund baby Jason Stevens on an improbable journey of discovery, having to answer the ultimate question: “What is the relationship between wealth and happiness?” Jason had a very simple relationship with his impossibly wealthy Grandfather, Howard “Red” Stevens. He hated him. No heart-to-heart talks, no warm fuzzies, just cold hard cash.

So of course he figured that when Red died, the whole “reading of the will” thing would be another simple cash transaction, that his Grandfather’s money would allow him to continue living in the lifestyle to which he had become accustomed. But what Red left him was anything but simple. Red instead devised a plan for Jason to experience a crash course on life. Twelve tasks, which Red calls “gifts,” each challenging Jason in an improbable way, the accumulation of which would change him forever.

If you missed the money-isn’t-everything message, an end-credits recap outlines the story’s salient points — if you’d known, you could’ve skipped the rest. - Time Out

Reeking of self-righteousness and moral reprimand, The Ultimate Gift is a hairball of good-for-you filmmaking.
    - New York Times

There’s an anti-abortion message jammed into one scene with all the subtlety of an avalanche. Just in case you miss it, it’s repeated in the credits too. Some gift, eh?
    Chicago Tribune

Done’t bother boys & girls. Its a FoxFaith Movie for christ’s sake. One look at the trailer will tell you what obvious tedium this will be (when its not insulting your intelligence).

Re: “U guys r way out of ur league”

I’ll stop axxo bashing when the group realizes that 700mb dvd-rips belong to the past century and starts releasing stuff that doesn’t look like shit when I watch it on my 30″ monitor. I’m sure people who watch these rips on TV sets (especially 50″ + TV sets) will second my opinion.

Boo: haha you are stupid… if i had a 30″ monitor, i will never fucking think about downloading divx/xvid rips! Nobody is forcing you to download and watch it on your l33t setup!

Haha I’m stupid? Download something besides axxo releases and, to your great surprise, you’ll see that most dvd-rips out there actually look like DVDs in terms of video and audio quality. Regular DVDs use uncompressed (well, loosely compressed, to be exact) streams. Properly encoded video and audio can seem nearly identical to its MPEG-2 versions but take up as low as 1/3 of their storage space. Again, if you try watching non-axxo releases and get some information on audio/video codec standards, you will understand what I’m talking about.

What part of ‘well, loosely compressed, to be exact’ is difficult for you to understand. MPEG-2 is not a MPEG-4 in higher bitrate. One is a loose compression format, the other can be, for the sake of this argument, defined as a high compression format that allows compressing (in case this is the word you’re struggling with, it means ‘To make more compact by or as if by pressing’) video and audio streams in a more efficient manner, comparing to MPEG-2. Properly encoded Xvid/Divx releases are to their MPEG-2 counterparts as deflated balloons are to inflated ones. Sure you can keep them inflated all the time but I don’t think that’s very efficient.

I dont understand fags like Boo. Is somebody forcing him to download 700mb rips? I doubt it. So why the hell is _she_ bitching? Dont like it, dont download it - pretty fucking simple imho.

    RE: F

The reason I’m bitching is because I don’t understand fags at axxo, Vite, and that really gay group that used to release 350Mb rmvb “dvd-rips” of two hour long movies. As for my downloading of their movies - I don’t, but thank you for the worthless advice. I appreciate your concerns.
