Cool, new HDRiP mates. It’s The Terminator (1984) released by hV, in BluRay 1080p! It’s 8GB (again) and I think that’s reasonable for a 1080p BluRay rip. So grab this one if you want to see this in HD (I think you do, movie looks great in HD!).
In the year 2029, a computer called Skynet is fighting against a human resistance, after having nearly destroyed the rest of humanity in 1997. Skynet has found a way to send some of it’s warriors, called Terminators, back in time. This is the story of the Terminator sent to kill the resistance leader’s mother in 1984, before she gives birth. Usually movies are put on film in a higher “resolution” than HD (can’t really call it resolution, since it’s analogue… hope you get what I mean). Also a fresh copy from a master doesn’t have any hairs, spots or grain. What I am really asking is will they play on my DivX DVD Player ? Or are they like an ISO and just burn in thier origional format and you need a HD player or Blue Ray player to watch them?

So here’s the skinny:
I have my PC connected to my 1080p TV, but the max resolution I can get is 1360×768, which apparently is down to the SVGA cable.
I’m guessing there’s no way I can actually WATCH this movie, were I to download it? I have a PS3 which can output 1080p, but wouldn’t play this file, right?
Sorry boys, I’m new. So does a 1080p rip/encode give a better result on a HD set that a regular DVD (i.e. the actual DVD not a rip of it)? if yes, would that also be true in the case of a 720p rip? Thanks for being nice to a n00b

you don’t have to have a supreme connection, just a normal high-speed connection.

Hello all! So it’s to my belief that most older movies (80’s and older) were actually professional TCs from the original reel, because back then they didn’t have a way to save a digital copy. Therefore I’m just curious how there can be a true HD version of these same movies? Just a thought…

My advise, Do not download anything larger than 4gb of data from rapidshare if they are segemnetd into 40 or more parts.
