posterGuess what has hit the scene a short while ago? Yep, it’s The Strangers in damn fine DVDRip quality two weeks ahead of retail date. If you recall, we brought you news of DVDSCR and it’s PROPER, but now you’re getting the real deal release. I’m thinking that Liv Tyler wouldn’t have been cast for this role if she wasn’t a good fit so it’ll been intriguing to see, I’ll definitely press the “Play” button on this one…

Narration
What you are about to see is inspired by true events. According to the F.B.I. there are an estimated 1.4 million violent crimes in America each year. On the night of February 11, 2005 Kristen McKay and James Hoyt went to a friend’s wedding reception and then returned to the Hoyt family’s summer home. The brutal events that took place there are still not entirely known.

Plot
 After returning from a wedding reception, a couple staying in an isolated vacation house receive a knock on the door in the mid-hours of the night. What ensues is a violent invasion by three strangers, their faces hidden behind masks. The couple find themselves in a violent struggle, in which they go beyond what either of them thought capable in order to survive.

    The movie had great potential, but it really fell short. Boring might be a term used far too often, but it pretty much fits this film just the same. Liv Tyler is just eye candy, and she’s nowhere near as sweet as in other flicks. No dice. Craps. Zippo. Nada.

    Maybe the unrated version includes an actual story… This movie… I saw it at the drive-in in my town… Had to sit through Sex & The City a second time just to watch this movie with my gf… I was severely let down, when I watched the movie and realized there’s no actual storyline, it seems like half a movie, like it seemed like there was no real intro, no background on any character other than the 2 main characters were dating and the guy wanted some at a cabin after proposing… The ending sucked, and was random that 2 bible kids found *dead people* (not spoiling who… or what… dun dun duunnnnn).

    I hope this unrated version’s way better, thanks for the links :D

    The true events which inspired this film were the Manson murders back in the 60’s. Again the important words here are “inspired by” which really give writers a rather large area to operate in.

    Not that people should really take fictional films as a true representation of actual events.

UNRATED EXTENDED CUT!…CUT THE CRAP!! seriously this nonsense has to stop, movie studios are going insane with this bullsh!t, every 2nd horror movie comes out at least twice with an unrated version and not enough with that they start to do this even with comedies now as well “zohan unrated” and when they want to make even more money they release the same fu**ing movie for three fu**ing times, one as normal, one as unrated and the third as unrated extended cut or directors cut.

    am i the only one who thinks this must stop ? i mean hell i am happy that i am just downloading it all without to pay now imagine how pi$$ed people must be to buy a movie which comes out in another two different versions just a two weeks later…

    I can’t get this movie to sync up correctly on DVD. I tried downloading 3 different versions and still get the same crap. It’s fine on the PC but on DVD it’s waaaaaay out of sync. Anyone else have this problem?
