The Sims Castaway Stories PROPER READNFO-ViTALiTY

The fight between ViTALiTY and RELOADED is still on! The recent release of The Sims Castaway Stories has been a source of dispute between these two grops: RLD released the first, cracked version. It worked pretty fine, noone has complained. However, few hours later, VTY nukes that and releases a proper, although they still balance at being scene banned or not. The reason is a virtual machine used in RLD’s crack, which means less performance in the game. Well, this game is nowhere near superb hi-tech graphic so 99% people don’t even care about this proper, but it’s here for you. More details available in NFO.

Following the theme of the console-only The Sims 2 Castaway series, The Sims Castaway Stories is a game for the PC users and is the third release in The Sims Stories product line. Help your Sims thrive and survive as they have washed ashore to an uncharted island. Count on many unexpected twists and turns in this easy-to-play, laptop-friendly version of The Sims.

Guide your Sim through the much-longer directed Story mode, taking on a variety of challenges as you build your new life from scratch, meet the natives, and discover the hidden mysteries of the island.     use winrar mate
    right click on the first file and click open with then scroll to winrar
    to my knowledge that HJsplit software is only good for splitting up files for use in torrents

    Hey, is someone having the same problem as me? After the load up screen there are only three tutorial icons, I can’t play or anything… and whenever i try to access a tutorial the game crashes…

    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    @dado, I got mine installed:

    Right-click Autorun.exe and choose Properties.
    Select the Compatibility tab.
    Click once in the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for:
    Select Windows 2000 from the drop down menu.
    Apply changes.

    Need some help ..

    Im at the part where you have to get a date (or invite a date over to ur place)

    Everytime I call up someone my sim likes, either:
    a) their answering machine picks up or
    b) nothing happens (he picks up the phone, blows in it and it disappears)

    I’m starting to think its a glitch, any suggestions?
    I tried quitting and starting agian, but same thing.

    I have an original and I’m not using crack. When I remove the roof in building mode the other default roofs don’t show up anymore. I also have the phone bug.

    you have to go to hot springs where you got the shellphone, and call up a date from there.

    hope this helps others who’ve had trouble.

    To end this nuke thing:

    Q: Is ViTALiTY’s cracking method a lot better that RELOADED’s?
    A: YES

    Q: Is RELOADED’s cracking method accepted by Scene rules?
    A: YES

    Q: Is game performance decreased with RELOADED’s cracking method?
    A: It depends on the game. If the game is heavy then you may notice a few frames speed drop. But this needs further investigation. The Scene Nukers should do benchmark tests to verify what ViTALiTY is claiming.

    Instead of fighting Reloaded because of minor issues that final users barely notice, I would rather prefer seeing Vitality focused on those games that were never properly cracked as, for example, GTR or GT Legends…

    I agree that the teams should stop fighting each other. I never that RELOADED cracks aren’t. They are working 100%. After all I said that the cracking method is approved by Scene rules. This means no need for proper releases or crackfix. RELOADED cracks are fine.

    I also don’t agree about ViTALiTY got banned few weeks in the past. ViTALiTY is one of the top cracking teams that do StarForce cracks.

    I hope that RELOADED, ViTALiTY, FLT, Razor1911 will work together and crack the upcoming game: Assasin’s Creed

    Hi, is anyone else having the problem with the installer saying directx 9.0c is not installed even though it is? Apparently this was a common issue with Life Stories, tried the fixes used for that on Castaway but it’s still not working. Any ideas??

    For (62) Andie666 I had similar probs, Earlier post mentioned changing the exe. Compatibility to win2000, but the setup file would not execute for me. Got it eventually to install by Mounting the iso image and Copying all the files and folders into a new Folder on my Desktop. Then in the new folder deleted the entire “DirectX” folder causing the problem. Run the setup .exe now in your new folder and it shouldn’t bother you to update your DirectX. I downloaded Madden 08 months ago and had the same Problem with that EA game as well. Did the same as this method and Installed perfectly. Hope this Helps =)

    In the DVD image inside the Autorun folder there is a file called autorun.cfg. Extract this file from the DVD image (using UltraISO or MagicISO orsimilar program). Edit this file and change DirectXVersion=9.0c to DirectXVersion=0 and save the changes. Then replace the original autorun.cfg with the edited one. Rebuild the DVD image, e.g. with UltraISO or MagicISO you can drag’n'drop the new edited autorun.cfg overwriting the old one in the Autorun folder and save the DVD image. You are ready to go.

    This will work 100% and is a common problem with EA games.

    Can you change the res other than 800×600 or is there are hack to do that?

    I have the same problem as Tracy – I had no problem installing the game – it shows up in my control panel on the list of programs but does not show up in the programs menu. I never got a DirectX error message – it just doesn’t run at all once installed. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times to no avail.

    Help!?!?!

    i have a similar problem and it has occured with The Sims2 and also sims castaway stories. They work when i first install them, but once i take the disk out and then put it back in i get the error message ‘the application has crassed, the application will now terminate’. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times for both games but i keep getting the same thing. I have read on some threads that the computer’s regristry needs editing but i am no computer wiz and am afraid that i will totally mess my computer up if i do that. Does anybody have any idea what i could do to fix this problem??

    I have exactly the same problem as you! When I run the simCS from the crack folder, all I get is tutorial. The game crashes when I try to enter tutorial. Did you fix it? What went wrong?

    Sorry, no luck. Not a lot of people seem to have this problem, and the ones that do, still don’t know how to solve it…
    It doesn’t seem to be a problem of registry neither since someone already tried to uninstall it from the registry and it is still the same…

    If somehow you manage to solve this problem please tell me :)

    I’m stuck in the second village. Portals are all red and my map icon doesn’t do anything anymore. I have befriended all 4 villagers and now it’s just asked me to befriend myself! Will someone please tell me how to get home! I dont know how many more coffee beans and sleepless nights I can take! And where the B*llocks is the pickaxe anyway? And what the hell is a crack folder?

    For anyone with the tutorial problem in this game, I found this on a website:

    “I recently got this game and after a successful install on XP, was unable to play it. I would not be able to select anything except tutorial mode. Selecting this made the game crash with a nice long error…

    Turns out the problem was my unicode was setup as Japanese (to run other programs) and Castaway did not like this…

    Switching to english lets the game run just fine, however since this game is rather low on priorties for myself, I switched back shortly after.”

    Help! I’m still stuck with my game crashing.
    I’ve tried absolutely everything under the sun.
    My specs I’ve checked numerous times and are way over the required.
    I’ve closed everything in my background. No emulation software running. Changed my resolution back to old school. Tried the compatability at both XP and 2000.
    It still crashes after the splash page!
    So confused!

    Hi, im having problems too. Its installed onto windows XP no problems at all but as soon as i goto play it, it starts the titles screen and then crashes. sometimes i dont even get that far.

    Help someone; I have purchased The Sims Castaway Stories. My Windows XP at first didn’t notice there was any disk in there, but then I read somewhere that if it didn’t start to do it manually by using the RUN on the start tab. It did recognize it but stalls durling installation. Comment says problem during transfering’TSData\Res\3D\objects09.package’.
    I have met all requirements I have nothing running in the background and I have enough memory as required and there is nothing wrong with my graphics card NVidia 5500. Does anyone know a way around this? I haven’t found anyone who has been able to answer this one.

    TO EVERYONE HAVING DATING PROBLEMS: build your relationships with the villagers face-to-face first. Then travel to the Hot Springs and you’ll recieve a shell phone from the chief (after you “Talk”…”Chat”). Keep your sim in the Hot Springs part pf the village and click on the sim you’re playing as and select “Call…” and click on “Sim” from the sub-menu. Select a sim with whom you have a good relationship with and click “Invite for Date” (or something like that). They’ll come over there to where you are (the Hot Springs). Choose WISELY. You can’t make your Sim like anyone else later on in the game. (My recommendation is Timoti. His relationship status moves up quite fast)

    HOW TO GET TO CREEPY HOLLOW:

    I found this on another website and haven’t tried it yet, but good luck to everyone out there who needs it (God knows I do!)

    To get to creepy hollow, you need to first have the chief tell you to go there. Then, go to the jungle and search for the lot exit that has two men from the tribe guarding the passage. This is the way to creepy hollow. If the chief has told you to go there, they will let you pass.
