Yes it will work on MAC as the only protection is a serial and nothing else.

i downloaded another version for pc and mac but couldn't get it to work, it has the serial but wanted to authorize the copy on the internet after install even though i had the net disconnected? let me know if anyone gets this to work on mac cheers

I'm pretty sure this will install and run fine on a MAC. There is without a doubt no copy protection on the retail version apart from a serial check within the game itself (no online checks).

the difference between versions is negligible , i played the previous release through with out a glitch , as for #25 it asked you for authenticator because you probably ran the updater which you cannot

Installed and working fine on Mac. Keygen requires a windows machine to run, serials are posted in #42.
Be sure to use Little Snitch to stop it from calling home.
Razor crack works fine I just replaced the reloaded crack with it. I didn't play too long though. Still downloading the whole razor release so I'll be playing with my reloaded with razor crack hybrid for now.

I downloaded all 13 parts, when I extract them, it just gives a load of files rzr-sims3.001 to rzr-sims3.054, an .nfo file and an .sfv file
how are these supposed to be made into the .iso?

Use TotalCommander, there's an option to join/merge files.

@114 get the crackfix to get the game working as for those who have reloaded well I would seriously advise you upgrade to retail version it fixes a lot of bugs like sims getting stuck/speed not working correctly etc.. It also adds a lot more items like a diving board and clothes. It will also allow updates and custom content from official site including the second town! something the beta wont.

from what I see this release doesn't change vary much from the reloaded version, I have the patch installed, but I think there are a few more objects. No crashing at this point and I haven't played much yet.

@120 make sure you copied it into /game/bin folder and not the /game folder and overwrite the existing .exe file. If thats still not working try mounting it. I hope your not trying to use the razor crack with reloadeds release as that just wont work.

Can confirm what Zombie #128 said. Installed and played and no new items in this version.
there is all new stuff.
so far i found there are 2 new cars, a secret seed in the crypt if you explore catacooms, a jacuzzi, a diving board and slide, a kool machine that brings back dead, a ghost buster you can call to get rid of ghosts, new hairs, and a phaser gun you can use.
Can more people confirm there's no difference between reloaded and this one? (no new items, no new town?)

I've just tried my save game from the reloaded version and starting a new game and there are NO new items. The asshats above that are saying there are new items are being asshats.
the RLD has the teleporter, its a reward.
cut the CRAP and tell us the truth… which as of right now is that this release is nothing but a small change in numbers in a friggin text file in the game's directory

I did get RELOADED's version and it worked perfectly and so far I have had no problems with it at all so what bugs are you talking about? yes there are no diving board in RELOADED's version but are there really one in this new version? and if there are extra stuff and so on then come on release a patch because I'm not downloading all this again….

So, people, here's the scoop:
Downloaded the Razor1911 from MU links, installed it, and it's freakin' the same as the RELOADED's version, but I must say that some bugs are fixed (mainly regarding the game speed), but there are NO NEW ITEMS. Everything's exactly like in RELOADED's version, so, I advise, if you're satisfied with RELOADED's version, and how it's working, there's no real point in downloading Razor 1911's version.

Can you tell me what they fixed about the game speed? The max game speed feels a little bit slow and jerky to me.

I just switched and I think this version is much better. I haven't seen any bugs (in reloaded version I had a lot of minor bugs) and I think there are more items. I'm not really sure though, because I didn't look through all of the items in the reloaded version.

neighborhood does develop in RLD release. come on, there is no diff between this and reloaded's.
i found the new items. and you have to register the game for new neighborhood and i registered mine and nothing bad happened and downloaded items from the store.

The .iso file is a disc image, due to the way discs are made in the factory the disc may contain things like deliberately placed bad sectors. Home PC DVD burners cannot replicate these deliberate errors, so we have to use a "virtual drive".
Grab a program called Daemon Tools, install this and then run it, select "add virtual drive" which will, strangely enough, add another (virtual) dvd drive to your computer (eg: F, G, H etc)
Right click on the icon in Daemon Tools for the new drive, and select "mount image". Navigate to your .iso file, and mount… on the windoze explorer / my computer screen you will see the icon for the game… You can explore the (mounted) image file to find cracks etc, or install from the virtual disc.
Hope this is enough to get you started… the whole "Daemon Tools / virtual drive / mounting thing is pretty standard for most downloaded games…

Just one thing I found weird in RLD's release was the Ultra Speed being slow and when I move the camera, the show some slow downs.

JucaB, No need to go offline or block access to install RLD release. It installs fine and plays fine. Just RUN directly from TS3.exe if you dont want the launcher to show up
@173 Yeah I just heard that too the RELOADED and the Razor1911 versions are both retail just from different regions but EA claim RELOADED's version is a release candidate and not the full version.
I have both copies and nothing is different never had issues with bugs from any of them. I would stick with the RELOADED version until after the release date maybe someone else will bring out a guaranteed retail version
There is no difference between the gameplay of the 2 versions, from what I've seen.
i downloaded the files and used hjsplit to join the files. then tried to unrar the file that has the ISO and it asks for a .r00 file. I cant find it anywhere. Am i doing somethin wrong?

I found one difference. In the beta, you can't break into other people's houses. But in the final version, you can.

I think Ill just wait til release date. I played Reloaded's version and found no oddities other than minor graphics glitches here and there. There may have been more, but without a reference I cant tell.
For instance, why is there only one neighborhood?
Why are there so few hair styles?
Why are your neighbors so useless?
Why do most of the old cheats not work (the only exception is motherlode)?
Why does the face sculpting always end up with a flat faced oogly?!
Why is it there is no motivation to learn the cooking skill since even the lowest levels can cook food to max out any hunger with one plate?
Why can you only take one lesson for a particular skill, and why does that lesson do nothing to better your character?
Why the FKK is there no vsync?! This is rather annoying. My computer is pumping out 90 bloody frames when my screen only supports 60! It is overheating my hardware for no adequate reason…
Why is it that when it does produce 90 frames per second it still seems to look like a low 20?

reloaded version works great for me but this razor1911 (with crackfix) is simply much better especially since you can actually update it manually from version 631 to 632. Reloaded at version 615 is not updatable at all.

I found the above links on nfohump.
Razor release = 1.0.631.00002 (Worldwide non DD version)
The new patch updates fine on the Razor release, but it seems you need to manually edit \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\default.ini for the launcher to show the correct version. The patch replaces TS3.exe, although it does not actually contain any binary changes, so the razor crack can/needs to be reapplied.
None of the patches worked for me on the RLD release.

In order to get it working on Mac, go to show package contents (on The Sim3.app), navigate through Resources, Transgaming, eventually you get down to the same file structure as the PC. Copy the crack as you would on a pc.

if the first files is *.001 then change the extension "001" to "r01" so the files look like this, *.r01 and do the rest in the same methods, it worked for me and i can unrar it and finally mount & install…

Ok, so I've mounted the image and installed the game on my Mac without any problems. I've copied the crack to the directory, but still upon launch I get asked to insert the Sims 3 disc. Does anyone have any ideas about this? I've just ordered some DL DVDs so I can actually burn the image to disc and that should work, but any ideas in the meantime would be great

I've downloaded the razor version, gone through installation, used a serial number and the crackfix … and my game crashes before the Game Launcher fully loads. The Reloaded leak worked fine, and I don't think I did anything wrong, as I got through the installation without a hiccup. Anyone know what might be wrong?

VERY IMPORTANT: cider is the file you'll have to double click to start the game. Don't start it clicking on the The Sims3.app, or it'll bring up the launcher, SecuROM and demons. Just before the splash screen you'll briefly see a Terminal window with gibberish: it's normal, cider is a Unix executable and it works that way; just ignore it.

No it does not miss the 2nd neighbourhood. As said a million times already the 2nd neighbourhood have to be downloaded and will not be included with the game. The same goes for several other stuff as well.

The Reloaded version wasn't a "beta". It was the digital distribution version of the same game. The content is identical between the Reloaded and Razor1911 version.

The modders there are already starting to try to dissect this and someone has posted a new neighborhood that seems to be working by those that have tested it. So, if you really need a 2nd neighborhood, there you go – custom stuff is usually better than EA's stuff anyway.

i used gamesfromtorrentsru's patch (the GTI one that was just posted here) and i've been trying to get the download manager to work for an hour now. upgrading to the razor release doesn't seem to do anything. i still have the same options in create-a-sim. nothing new. i think, THINK i noticed some new cars when i browsed through buy mode, but there wasn't anything i was hoping for. i want more than one stupid acoustic guitar, and also half-walls.
some people said registering worked. everytime i've tried, it opens a link in an IE window and it just times out. not sure what's going on. running the download manager itself seems to get me somewhere: it updated itself. didn't change a thing though. the sims 3 is not in the list of games you can get patches for.
i'd like to download all of this extra content people say exists but i'm not sure what to do at this point.

I cant even get the razor version to work. When I start the TS3.exe it stalls at 11mb in task manager. When I try to run it from the luancher, it tells me there is no game disc found. Ive applied the crack already. Has anyone else experienced this?

come on, razor release is perhaps the final release, but their crackfix isn't working. I installed the game, tried several crackfix, and the game still ask for disc….At least reloaded game and crack worked both very well, and they didn't need a fix for a crack that didn't even work.

i tested a retail copy of sims3 last month, and can confirm there are WAY more objects/options in the retail version. There were like 50 hairstyles and twice as many objects like a divingboard and slides for the pool, and hot tubs.
I got the so called Reloaded to Razor patch and did as told. After overwriting the files from the archive with the ones from the game, it really got to the Razor version of the game when i started up the launcher. But when i actually played the game i didnt see ANY new objects, and the 4-th speed bug was still there. I exited the game and tried to apply the "Sims3_1.0.632.00002_from_1.0.631.00002" patch and then to apply the Warg crack, but the game didnt wanted to patch up, cause i got the error i was getting before with the original Reloaded release. So i think this so called 'Reloaded to Razor' patch isnt really working, and is doing nothing for me really. Can anyone confirm that they applied this 'Reloaded to Razor' patch and after that they found bugs fixed or new items, and if the game was patchable for them ?
And another thing i wanna know is if someone have managed to patch the original Razor 1911 version with the "Sims3_1.0.632.00002_from_1.0.631.00002" patch ?

So it does seams that the so called 'Reloaded to Razor' patch isnt working.
If it was i would be able to update the game with the "Sims3_1.0.632.00002_from_1.0.631.00002" patch which i couldnt, cause it gave out the same error while trying to patch it when it was just the original Reloaded release, who was said that its un-patchable.
Guess ill be downloading the whole Razor 1911 release after all.

If you want to patch the game, you're gonna have to figure out how to change the version number in the registry too, or else of course its not gonna work. I found the registry key for it in about 5 minutes, too bad i dont know what the value is supposed to be. Found the info here:

Displayversion is easy to change, what should that be? 1.0.631 of course, but then what should we change the actual version key to… the reloaded release has a key of 0×01000267 (16777831), but then we have to know what the updated version from the razor release is hmm, anyone with the razor release care to chime in with that value is on their machine? (if its the same on that release, then im stumped, and apparently wrong :/)

I played the Reloaded version at my friends house and it worked fine, i have not seen him tried the razor, but im still not seein the difference of the two. If the objects and all are still the same then what is the point to unistall and reinstal the razor, or even update Reloaded to Razor when as far as i read it doesnt work. Many people are having difficulties with the exchange. Can someone tell me what is the actual difference? besides the so call bugs fix that i saw none at my friends house? Anyone else having a problem with having no sound in game? both releases have 0 sound for me all other games work fine
the fact is where not going to know if it is a true final until june 2nd, although the reloaded has a few bugs (for the life of me i cant figure out where you buy clothes!) and I have had loads of instances where my sims freeze perminantly at the stairs it is the best we have until the "real" version comes out. no doubt when it is released at midnight we will have the real full version by 1am!

Yeah i hoped to avoid the same thing but it wont work unless u change the registry values as 351.Aquifel said, cause the game is installed under those values with the reloaded release and this patch 'reloaded to razor' dosent change the registry entries at all, so yeah…ull get that error everytime u try to patch it up no mather what. Ill wait 3 days after the game is released officially and then see if some other release group does provide us with a real PROPER retail of this game with proof of it ofcourse. In the Warg patch update+the crack for it there is a pic with a proof that they got hold of a real retail Sims 3, and since they cracked the latest patch for the game i bet they could do the same with the original/retail one…so im just wondering why havent they done so ?

Ok, people. I've downloaded the "Reloaded to Razor" patch. It's a bunch of files (supposedly the changed files from the Razor version in comparison to the Reloaded one). After a quick copy & paste, the game appears to be updated to 1.0.631.00002 (the Razor version). But be AWARE of the issue @351 (http://www.rlslog.net/the-sims-3-razor1911/comment-page-4/#comment-760018). This "patch" doesn't change version info in the Windows Registry, so… we don't know for sure if the patch is correctly installed. Inside the game, nothing different. Perhaps a new bathtube, but I'm convinced that there's nothing new. The Reloaded version never crashed here. And this "patched" (or not) Razor version doesn't show any difference at all. And more: the 4x Speed seems to be defective yet (cause 3x Speed is playing faster than the 4x).
Ah! I can't register or download stuff from the Exchange/Store place. It's the same thing, being Reloaded version or Reloaded-to-Razor version: it tris to open the web page but gets a timeout.
@366, 4X doesn't exist, it is just an option to speed through the current task at ultra-speed, the same seed as the third speed. When the task is done it goes back to whatever speed you had it at when you clicked it

I work at a distributor and we got our retail copies 2 days ago. West coast distributors would have had it one or two days before us so this is most likely the final release candidate.
I have mounted and installed game. I used one of the provided serials, I then ran the game and it said unable to verify this is a authentic disc or whatever. so I looked it up on here and downloaded the .rar with the crack from razor 1911. i put the rzr-s3cf.001 file in the bin directory that it says to and am still getting the same message. do i need to re-install and use the crack before running it? any help?
i've tried all three: reloaded, reloaded->razor, razor
but each version freezes my computer after several minutes of play (have to press reset)

we just got the retail copy at work and I stole it. it is very different from theses 2 releases. there are more items and styles, clothes, and hair. you can break into houses. you can make your own town. and bella goth is a playable charatcer. this is all ive noticed so far.

The Reloaded version is exactly the same as Razor1911 in terms of content. It is exactly the same as the final retail version you will buy in the stores in terms of content. A few bug fixes are another matter.
The retail version will however allow you to download more content. EA is going to charge through the nose for additional content over the internet.
I will be completely bored of the game long before it goes "live".

Wow! After ages trying to get this updated from RELOADED to RAZOR, I finally realized the patch was pointing to a different folder than my desktop shortcut was going to. (Anyone else have The Sims 3 within the Electronics Arts folder AND also just sitting there in Program Files under The Sims 3? Strange why there's two different places).
About to see if there's anything different.
Absolutely nothing new in the update at all. No new objects, no new clothes, no new hair… and the "fourth speed" (which should skip a task quickly) is still slower than the "third speed."
I see there is riverview available for download at the sims 3.com. Is anybody going to upload it soon?
TS3 Store is up again, only this time no luck in registering to be able to get the bonus town and contents (invalid keys).
Do you have to start the game with the TS3.exe file or can you start for launcher?
If I start from Launcher it asks for a DVD if I start from TS3.exe game works without any problem.

the file TS.EXE is compressed (SFV extension) and need to be open with relevant program: I used WinRAR and finally I got the TS.EXE.
Use it to replace the original file in (game directory)\game\bin…and it will work fine.

@409 "Deaththekid," you're right, and it does work. It's supposed to go at the same speed as "Speed 3" but once the task is complete, it slows right back down to "Speed 1." That's so you don't miss anything when they finish and are still in ultra speed.
Saying that though, the top speed is really too slow in my opinion. They need to make it much faster as it becomes very boring when my Sim is sleeping and I have to sit here with nothing to do for a while.

@421, there is a patch you can download that updates the Reloaded version to Razor. There's no difference in gameplay between the two, it just means you can use updates from EA. I can't remember the site I got mine from but just search on google. It's about 700MBs so you don't need to download the whole thing again.

You can register without a serial. You'll just have limited access to stuff.

Go on the exchange page (thesims3.com/exchange) and look for whatever you want to download. Then mouse over the "add to game" button and look for the target url or you can rightclick-> properties. You want the assetId number example:('download','3545'). Then in your browser url, type in sims3://download/?assetId=3545, change 3545 to whatever assetId you want.

the sims 3 is gonna be the greatest game ever!!!!!! I have the sims 2, but you cant make the characters do things outside there location and thats why I looking forward to playing the sims 3!!! I wish it came on ps2 though..

Also i don't know if there will be a 'real proper retail' version. I've been talking to people who have brought the game and they say stuff like diving boards, more music instruments etc aren't in there.
by the way, check out the sims 3 website forum….loads of people having problems with the game….EA support doesn't seem fully ready or is overwhelmed….clearly some more testing should have been done. Loads of reports of bugs installing the game, playing the game, getting the bonus content etc.
Looks like what we might get is a special 'Riverview.Update.Pack'. But apart from that it looks like Razor1911's release was the real deal

Instructions:
The only way to install any sims3pack (right now at least) is to download them and install using the launcher. When doing this be sure you disable your internet connection or block the programs access using a firewall. Otherwise your actions will be sent to EA.
If you have trouble installing, delete them all from the Launcher and download this tool:

As for Riverview, nobody's worked out how to install it yet. We've even been copying entire folders from people who legally got the neighbourhood but EA seems to have done something to prevent it being copied properly.

The thing is, the neighbourhood *does* show up, but it's missing a lot of files the hood can't locate. The actual sims have no descriptions, some buildings are missing, and it's generally just glitchy.
Also, I've had people say that once you install it, it's hard to uninstall (even via the Launcher). So, just to be safe, I'm waiting until someone's figured out how to make it work and has it fully tested.

Maybe try looking at the registry…it might add something new to the sims3 registry keys….maybe that is the missing key…..just a lil idea….

You need to re-download the tool and do as I said before (drag the package file over the EXE and then double click the package file to install the content. I have the Reloaded to Razor Version and most of the cracked add-ons worked for me, including the new town. Just follow instructions to crack the official add-ons or get it cracked already.

I can confirm running the release on Mac OS X 10.5.7 updated through the launcher to version 1.1.45.2. I modified the .simpacks as described above using the windows tool and then installed them on the mac, everything works like charm.

you just have to unzip everything in the folder Downloads in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, then open the TS3 launcher, select "Downloads" on the right, then "select all" and "install".

Ok screw additional content, for those of us who don't have the game yet please re-up Razor links with either RS or MU, they get taken down so fast and it seems like there are none left on the net. 200mb parts or greater would also be appreicated. Thanks

I cannot be bothered to read through 500+ comments, can someone please confirm this is clean and working, i downloaded the reloaded one and tried to install it today but it wouldn't work because my virus scanner was trying to stop the 11 worms and 9 trojans it was putting on my computer.

Documents –> Electronic Arts –> The Sims 3 –> DOWNLOADS.
After you put all those files into the folder DOWNLOADS, open up your launcher and go to the DOWNLOADS TAB. It will start updating and once it finished, select all to install and then you're finished.
And I have a question regarding the game: How do I buy a house?
I have the same problem as #556.
Now I tried to start the game directly with ts3.exe, but it still says 'We are unable to verify that your disc is a valid copy of The Sims 3. Please contact customer service.'
Any ideas what could be wrong? I'm usind Daemon as well, btw.

I suppose EA could maintain a list of pirated serials and the launcher could forward your IP and serial to their server. The odds of that would be slim as EA would have nothing to gain.

You can use PowerISO and extract the ISO, allowing you to run setup.exe. The better solution would be to install Daemon Tools and mount the ISO.
