I’m not usually one to take note of movie comment reviews on Releaselog; but by god do I wish I’d heeded the warnings on this one.
I must admit I haven’t read this book, but I thought another fantasy to pass away the time was worth the download. Oh how I was sorely mistaken. 705.77 megs of banner advert gifs would have been far more entertaining and far less frustrating than this movie.
The viewer was expected to take so much of this movie in their stride; to add in their own details and try to create their own cohesive plot.
It is not enough for the characters to simply tell us that the boy has “powers”- We are given a vague description of what he can and can’t do, with an emphasis, for some reason on his lack of the ability to fly, but later on he’s seen with superhuman strength and telekinesis-none of which I must add are ever utilised after their initial use.
Spare your bandwidth for the ‘Free Viagra’, ‘Home Insurance’ and ‘Russian Brides’ emblazoned throughout the web.

I looked forward for this movie. I read Susan Coopers five books about Will Stanton when i was a child 20years ago. And i loved it. To bad that this movie skips many important parts of the story. And why make one movie of the five books? Two movies would be better to capture the original filling and the story from the books.
