The Scriptarians The Tournament-SKIDROW

So here is another game from Skidrow, pretty unknown game with a weird title. It’s some semi-turn based RPG, not really my kind of game.

Have you ever heard about Core Wars? Have your mind ever crossed the thought of creating your own hero…well, let’s go further – your own heroes team which would fight battles for you in the 3D virtual world in the exactly way you’d imagined? Have you dreamed of testing your programming skills in something more cute than bureau software application or webpage? Or perhaps you’ve just wanted to learn how to program? If you answered ‘yes’ for at least one of these questions, then this game is no doubt for you!

Game Requirements:

  • Windows (98 or higher)
  • 1 GHz CPU
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 3D Graphics Card with vertex shaders 1.4

Release name: The.Scriptarians.The.Tournament-SKIDROW

No way, it’s better than Halo. Wait that’s not saying much. It looks like a niche title, some will like it, most won’t. But that doesn’t make it bad.

I would love to give this game a try, but I’m playing Crysis at the moment. And my PC probably couldn’t handle these INSANE (post 2) system requirements anyway…

    Guys,

Will this run on Windows 97? It says Windows 98, but I only have version from 1997.

Also, 1ghz processor where do I get one of those? In the future? Imagine the heatsink on one of those what do they use a refrigerator? o.O

If this is anything like Colobot and Ceebot they use a game scenario to teach programming… so it’s not gonna be mindlowing graphics but it might just inspire and start off the next generation of coders who’ll be bringing you Halo X etc.

I hope this game is better than Crysis,Cod4,Nfsps,Gears of war, Clive barker jericho, Timeshift, Beowulf, Kane and Lynch, Guitar hero 3. Please let this game be good I tried almost all

I just installed AVG and it “cleaned” every keygen on my computer without asking for confirmation, which means they don’t work but I can’t even undelete them.

Is there some way to revive them or “un-clean” them?

Game looks like fun, The concept sounds great, obviously aimed for the niche “Wants to have or does have skill in programming and want to try their hand at ai coding” group

I’ve not played the game yet, but if it really is core wars with a different theme and more dimensions and effects, actions then I suspect that this will be a game with more depth than Crysis, Cod4, Nfsps, Gears of war, Clive barker jericho, Timeshift, Beowulf, Kane and Lynch, or Guitar hero 3. in fact i’m almost certain it will. I recon its gunna be better than all the previously mentioned titles, that is – unless you prefer a game that involves following a one way path, repetitively shooting at 3d models before they shoot you. or even if you prefer spending hours copying the buttons it tells you to press on the screen in time with some music.

hey and some of you could play this game and come out with the skills required to learn a real language (once you know one you can easily pickup another). and with those skills you might even be able to go on and help the crackers in the scene – just a thought.

grats Skidrow! for finding a game that’s different to the norm!

I just hope my rig is slow enough to play it :/

Did anyone else that download this have issues getting it started? I keep getting a “Engine Initialization Failed” error when trying to start the game, and the setup portion of it (not the installation, the preferences setup exe) gives an “Error creating FRS core” error.

Anyone have a fix? I loved Core Wars and this looks pretty fun (ugly as sin, but fun).
