What a great release by SAPHiRE! Finally we get the DVDRip of this very highly-rated Comedy/Drama film, which was nominated for 2 oscars (Laura Linney for Best Actress, Tamara Jenkins for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen). It’s obvious that any comedy that’s able to score 90% on RT and 7.9 on IMDB is well worth the try, even more so when it stars phenomenal actors like Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney. Oh yes, this 114-minute movie has standard video and audio for a DVDRip.

Synopsis: Director Tamara Jenkins made audiences sit for nearly a decade for her follow-up to the hilarious dark comedy SLUMS OF BEVERLY HILLS, but it’s been worth the wait. Like her previous film, THE SAVAGES is a sometimes-funny, sometimes-sad look at family dynamics, but this time around the sense of humor is more wry than riotous. Laura Linney and Philip Seymour Hoffman play Wendy and Jon Savage, a pair of siblings on the cusp of middle age. She’s earning money in New York City as a temp as she writes an autobiographical play about their childhood, while he lives in Buffalo, teaching college and finishing a book on Bertolt Brecht.

    I dont know what it is, but theres something about Phillip Hoffman that disgusts me. I just hate his screen presence. Im sure I’ll still grab this, but I wish he wasnt in a few movies I actually like.

    Almost 2 hours on 1 cd? LOL This movie was one of the best of 2007 so therefore it deserves better quality! Please post a better copy if one becomes available to be able to fully enjoy this movie.

    Always laugh at the RS moaners here. I bought a year last June that worked out at £3.20 (around $6.50) a month for all I can take DLs. Quicker than any torrents out there, and at that price, I aint yappin. :D

    whats happened to the torrents on this site? i hate to find a release i like w/o a torrent link. it used to be less frequent, but now its every other one. bah

    not EVERYONE wants to pay for a rapidshare account. for lots of reasons, not just the $. usually torrent downloads are very fast, and i dont mind waiting for them to download anyway. waiting for the torrent link sucks though.

    I understand where you’re coming from, but please understand that that’s just not up to us. We often link to NewTorrents because they’re (usually) the fastest site to have new torrents available. If I see someone post a public link to another site though, I check it and then change the link.

    I was under the impression that rlslog had some kind of money deal with newtorrents. To me it looks like newtorrents simple dupes TPB, it uses the pirate bay tracker and most of them are probably uploaded by “loader” over at TPB.

    @46 – You are in the ball park. When someone clicks a direct link on a site it’s usually tagged as a reference from where the site comes from. So if someone clicked TPB on this site, TPB would be able to tell that the links are coming from this particular site.

    My assumption is they either donate for hits, or have the same owner, or same host, or etc.

    My only complaint is when they link to NewTorrents and NewTorrents doesn’t have anything. Just don’t link to it in the 1st place and say something like “Found on TPB” or something similar. This way you aren’t directly linking, but we know where to go.

    Oletimer, you download all the parts for each movie. Just click the links and let them DL (once youve logged in once to RS). Not sure what your connection speed is, but I download all parts at once. If youre only on a 2mb connection though, maybe youll need to just do a few at a time. Once done, drag the 1st part into any rar extractor prog and it will give you your movie. If you havent got one of those yet, grab a free one here: http://www.extractnow.com to start you off.

    Go to RS.com when youve logged in and select “Premium zone” at the top of the page. Then click premium login, and options. Tick the direct downloads box in there and apply the change. Now, you only log in once and from now on you wont be referred back to the RS site when youre clicking links. Youll just stay on the page youre taking the links from. ;)

    Not sure if you know there are 100s of boards out there with RS links, but if you require a quick search try here: http://loadevery.com/ (just tick the RS box). Along with Plube, Irfree, Goleech etc all mentioned here. You could try katz.cd as well. Use Firefox or a good pop-up/ad blocker though. Some of these sites can be a bit dodgy. ;)

    oletimer, instead of downloadin an rslink file by file, google for a proggy called RAPGET! you can just copy and paste as many links in at once!! Save time and hassle :D
