The Sarah Silverman Program is a comedy series starring Sarah Silverman. It also stars Laura Silverman, Brian Posehn, Steve Agee, and Jay Johnston. Silverman plays a fictionalized version of herself, an unemployed, immature woman who leads an irresponsible life. Her most notable trait is her undiluted, childlike self-absorption, which commonly leads to awkward situations in which she insults friends, family and total strangers indiscriminately. Critical reception for the show is very positive. During its first two weeks, it was the most-watched cable show in primetime among all key demos. This show is rated a respectable 8.4/10 with 363 votes on TV.com . I will definitely give this show a download and watch.
The second season opens with Sarah joining a community group for its lemon bars and discovering later that it’s an antiabortion collective. Meanwhile, Steve and Brian’s date night is affected by a game of Dungeons & Dragons.

I agree, season one was painful. I’ve seen Silverman do some funny stuff, but this show makes me weep instead of laugh. I’ll give this episode a chance, but i have my expectations pretty low after the first run of shows.
talking about good jewish comedy, im missing larry davids “curb your enthusiasm” on this site. david is the cocreator of seinfeld. it would be a tragedy if visitors of this site dont know about this unbelievable funny show. its one of the best rated tv-shows out there (by viewers an critics). you can find all seasons on mininova.
The Sarah Silverman Program seems to be one of those “love it” or “hate it” shows. I know a few people that don’t like it at all, I personally think it is very funny. Granted there are some weak moments but overall I think this show shines. The “God” episode last season was one of the best laughs I’ve had in quite a while.
Once you aquire a taste for this show (and it is an aquired taste) you might find many other shows extremely redundant and yawn inducing.

To me, this show is hilarious. But #8 is correct. Lots of people don’t find it to be funny. On the other hand, lots of people love it (such as myself). I even watch Sarah’s standup comedy and while some of the humour is the same, it is quite different in format, and Sarah herself plays a less-than-smart character.
I agree with others about this show, it is a love it or hate it kind.
I sure love it though. I could not believe season one only had 6 episodes so imagine the pain I felt waiting until the new season.

A few days late but none the less, a good post by Mr.X. This show is hilariously written, anyone who doesn’t find it funny is probably a little slow in the head.
