The Running Man 1987 DVDRip Xvid iNT-420RipZ

613d.jpg420RipZ is some group I really don’t know, they release few days ago three decent releases that make it public as well. The first movie, as you can see, stars Arnold Schwarzenegger. It is a Sci-Fi movie that I cannot remember that good after seeing the trailer. But I suppose we all have seen this once back when we were kids. Enjoy and check the other posts that are coming.

In the year 2017, the world economy has collapsed. The great freedoms of the United States are no longer, as the once great nation has sealed off its borders and become a militarized police state, censoring all film, art, literature, and communications. Even so, a small resistance force led by two revolutionaries (Mick Fleetwood and Dweezil Zappa) manages to fight the oppression. With full control over the media, the government attempts to quell the nation’s yearning for freedom by broadcasting a number of game shows on which convicted criminals fight for their lives. The most popular and sadistic of these programs is “The Running Man,” hosted by Damon Killian (Richard Dawson).

When a peaceful protest of starving citizens gathers in Bakersfield, California, a police officer named Ben Richards (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is ordered to fire on the crowd, which he refuses to do. Subdued by the other officers, the attack is carried out, and Richards is framed for the murder of almost a hundred unarmed civilians. Following a daring jail break months later, Richards is captured once again and forced to appear on “The Running Man” with three other convicts (Yaphet Kotto, Marvin J. McIntyre, and Maria Conchita Alonso). With their help, he fights his way through a cadre of sadistic gladiators hunting them down through the ruins of a Los Angeles earthquake, but not promising Killian that he’ll return to settle the score when the show’s host double-crosses him. In the meantime, the contestants must search through the ruins for the resistance in the hopes of finally broadcasting the truth about the government.

    It’s just noobish.

Anyhow this movie is great. Sure it’s a bit old with Schwarzenegger when he was coming up.
IMO the action is good and the story well ok.
    Worth seeing.

why do we always get files on a 2 cd basis? cant we just download 1.5 gig in one file instead?

    December 2nd, 2007 | 12:46

    16) as some stand alone players (eg a dvd player that can play back divx files) can only play files smaller than 1gb – so they split it into CD sized images, the second reason is a have a container load of blank CD’s and the entire scene bows to me*.

well people, especially americans and germans, watch that film again! it is a quite visionary film,

anticipating what will be the future in our “democratic” (hahaha) societies very soon. welcome, 1984…

in germany, they just recently amended a new law on data storage and wire-tapping, read that post from some german blogger:

“is germany drifting into a totalitarian system? again?
    November 13th, 2007

it are the small signs, that unconciously make you feel uncomfortable. it are such things like the new tax-identification number, given you at birth, that allows to track all your financial activities, your life long and 20 years beyond that.
it is such a small thing like the endlessly repeated music “Für Elise” at a local underground entrance in bielefeld. This classical music piece is repeated in such a tight loop, that it gets annoying as soon as you hear it the second time. and it lets your brain explode if you are a poor homeless trying to find some shelter against rain. This is psychological warfare. against the poorest in our society.

but now there is a sign you cant really categorize as unconcious, even for the most unpolitical person like me. on 09.11.2007 german “democratic” parliament amended the law on data storage and wire-tapping, bringing us closer to george orwells “1984″ in a huge, conspicuous leap.

they do not want the transparent criminal, as they repeatedly try to affirm us, but what they really want is the transparent citicen. they want to observe you, they want you to manipulate and they want to eliminate you ( in some way, and only if it means that they sue you till you see no morning or put you in jail) if necessary.

written after a sleeples night, please excuse typo’s etc.”

    @21 DeerDance,

I really don’t count this movie as a Stephen King adaption. Yes, he wrote the original story/book of the same name, but the movie has absolutely nothing in common with the printed version, other than the basic idea of being hunted on a game show and some of the character names.

This movie is a ripoff (pardon, remake) of the French film “Le Prix du Danger” (1983), based on a 1958 short story “The Prize of Peril” by Robert Sheckley.
Stephen King wrote “The Running Man” in 1982 under the pseudonym of Richard Bachman; I bet he read “The Prize of Peril” and decided to cash in on the visionary concept.
