Here comes another release from Larceny. This one was also released as a Screener not long ago and already the DVDRip is here. I actually saw this in the cinema randomly and I guess its worth downloading. The movie serves its purpose of occasionally grossing you out and maybe one or two shocking moments. Expect nothing more though.

Quality: Again, very high quality can be expected from a Larceny DVDRip. Download and enjoy.

Author Scott Smith adapts his own popular 2006 novel in this unsettling and surprising horror yarn. In its first half hour, THE RUINS seems to be cut from the same “body-count-of-young-Americans-abroad” cloth as HOSTEL and TURISTAS, but the film has a supernatural element not present in either of those works, keeping it clear of the overpopulated slasher and torture genres. A talented young cast also ensures that Smith’s tale reaches the screen with plenty of genuine chills intact.

A group of friends whose leisurely Mexican holiday takes a turn for the worse when they, along with a fellow tourist embark on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle, where something evil lives among the ruins.

    i thought the movie was quite dumb and has excessive bloodshed for no reason. why do you want to show legs being chopped off when you are going to kill the person in the next scene?

    I had high expectations based on some critics and on the IMDb rating but was utterly disappointed.

    The film is at some points unintentionally funny (Killer Tomatoes come to mind) and simply doesn’t work as well as, like, The Descent or [Rec] etc.

    So, for me, it was wasted time…

    ..there you can see how different tastes are and that no one should even give the slightest sh*t about others critics.

    sone claim “the descent” was good and this one was exactly as good, others say this one cant reach up to “the descent”.

    … and my personal opinion is that “the descent” was a big load of bulls*it but actually i found this one really entertaining and interesting.

    Unrated’s aint any better. if they were good or important parts, they wouldn’t of removed them in the first place. It’s just a marketing scheme.

    Some of the gore scenes in the unrated are more explicit than the vhs screener. The runtime is also 2 minutes longer.

    Haven’t seen all the diff yet bet the leg chopping scene has more visuals of the knofe hacking through the leg.
