PLOT: Nokiro’s teenage daughter has killed one of her classmates. A man named Junichi is the father of the girl who was killed. One year later, in a small industrial town, Junichi is now shuttling between his lodgings and his job at a foundry. Every day he sees Noriko who works as a cook at the inn. They never speak or exchange looks but they do recognize one another. Each remains isolated in their own world–they have given up on life due to their shared painful past. Suddenly, Junichi decides to buy Noriko a present. A relationship slowly develops between them. Gradually, they emerge from their grief, regaining a taste for life again.
