The Quiet Earth 1985 WS DVDRip XviD-AXIAL

AXIAL brought yesterday a good rated old New Zealand film about an earth with just 3 people on it. After reading the plot I thought that it might be interesting to check the trailer, I watched it, was ok… So I think I might pass this film for now. But some Sci-Fi lovers might like this movie and give it a try. About the quality I will not tell you anything, just AXIAL! Enjoy.

Edit: The guys over at AXIAL honored me by showing their respect in this release’s NFO by adding this: “Ripper’s Notes…….: PROPS TO MiKE OVER AT RLSLOG”. Guys, I’ll honor you by watching this movie, great job!

Zac Hobson wakes up to find that he is apparently the only person left on Earth. Soon, however, he meets others – Joanne, a pretty young woman, and Api, a huge Maori tribesman. They survived the apocalypse (a malfunction of a government project in which Zac was involved) because all three were at the moment of death Zac’s attempted suicide, Joanne’s exploding hair dryer, Api fighting with another man when the apocalypse occurred. Soon, however, Zac and Api begin fighting over Joanne, and the trouble begins…

A very good classic movie for the thinkers out there –

As for being produced in New Zealand?

Maybe people may of heard of the Lord of the Rings ? made and produced in New Zealand…apparently it was pretty popular…..
but maybe no one was paying attention..

This is a very good film worth watching. Beats most of the new films that have appeared on here the past few days.

Movie rocks, very atmospheric, interesting story and good actors. Better than alot of the modern blockbuster stuff that hits the cinemas these days. Alot better.

This is a classic, not too dated either(they made quite a nice effort) Sci Fi fans will love it and the idea behind the story is mindblowing…suprised Hollywood haven’t already re-made it. IMDB 7.1/10

    Mad Max – Australia
The Good, The Bad And The Ugly – Italy
    Seven Samurai – Japan
    City of God – Brazil
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb – UK
    Pan’s Labyrinth – Mexico-Spain
    Das Boot – Germany

Uh. If I was narrowmided I’d never have seen any of these.
But yea. I guess looking for more isn’t for everyone. Most just don’t make any effort discovering, I’m aware of that. It’s just pathetic when it is displayed like that.

mike i’ve seen this movie 1month ago, and i can only recommend it. it’s not an action flick, so if you are lucking for some action, you may be disappointed.

the end of the movie is really weird, and open, so there may be a sequel to it some day.

This movie is funny as hell

Basically its a guy running around naked

  17. May 25th, 2007 | 13:32

Speaking of Mad Max, we’ll never see another sequel, but Fallout 3 is coming soon. The promo pics are awesome, especially the newest one. Looks like something right out of the Road Warrior.

Axxo.. the LOTR movies were made by kiwis with american money.. get it right, weta graphics, wingnut production, jackson direction.. you’re an idiot!

we’ll soon see how The Hobbit will fare without PJ at the helm.

as for this film, it’s a pure sci-fi classic.
