The Prodigy – Invaders Must Die Advance PROPER 2009 -XXL

Here we have a new album by The Prodigy. XXL released this around 50 minutes before the proper, they propered this because the stuffed up the track numbers. Enjoy another fine early release album thanks to XXL.

Invaders Must Die is the upcoming, fifth regular studio album by the electronic act The Prodigy, to be released on February 23, 2009. It is the first studio album released by the band since 2004’s Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned and is the first Prodigy album since 1997’s The Fat of the Land to feature all three members of the band.

The band have said that the album will go back to their “old-school but cutting edge” roots, and will feature collaborations with Dave Grohl (of Foo Fighters) and James Rushent (of Does It Offend You, Yeah?), but will not feature any guest vocals

    Thanks, Gustavo.

Personally I found only one track above mediocrity AND honest to the cause: Take me to the hospital. To some degree same goes to Piranha, though it doesn't have the same intensity nor vibe as Take me to the hospital has. Other tracks didn't even make it to my playlist, as I didn't even bother to listen the tracks that didn't meet my taste.

I think your wrong…It's great and they'r back to their roots…Colours, thunder, warriors dance is awsome in live performance, then run with the wolves, world's on fire and ofcourse Take me to the hospital…This album is quite suprise after their last one which was quite unastisfactory…All I can say is long live the Prodigy…

went to see this band many moons ago at blackpool palace nightclub, absolutly amazing. but then i had hada couple of happy pills.

great band and an exellent album….again.

you wouldent think they would have lasted, i mean being born out of the early rave/ hiphop generation, but they have lasted through the years which is testament to liam howletts creative genius.

    peace out.

    February 14th, 2009 | 11:15

@30: Its called musical progression. You can't expect an artist to merely replicate the same sound with a different package over and over. Prodigy has always been able to move & identify with the times… so what you call a 'cheap attempt to copy Pendulum' I call progression.

Progression my a$$ … It has many of the same effects and sounds of earlier albums (10+ years ago !), but the melodies are crap, repetitive and boring (for Prodigy levels).

It sounds more like a poor amateur DJ trying to emulate the Prodigy sound on his 8-bit 22KHz audiocard … And I'm talking about the 320kbps CBR release that is !

    February 14th, 2009 | 16:04

    @Guru

I don't think they are back at their roots, on the contrary. They are just ripping people off by trying to justify the lack of INNOVATIVE and intelligent design in songwriting and technical performance captured on "Fat of the land" by saying this is something they did billion years ago. Instead of being new and fresh, they've borrowed ingredients from wide array of artists and to make the soup even worse, the album does not sound very balanced, but more of an collection of tracks dragged in to support the few above mediocority tracks. There's no fine red line ie. one sound that defines this album, but bag of old and new ideas that don't mix very well – except on "Take me to the hospital", the only excellent track on the album. Feels like prodigy lost its edge since "Fat of the land" and without that edge rest of the content sounds, dare I say, just boring.

This really is a cheap pendulum copy. Too many cheesy synth leads and boring soft breakbeats akin to pendulum. It's just mainstream cheese wrapped up in a nice little package

  43. blah
    February 14th, 2009 | 19:08

Firs of all, if you havent heard any prodigy before, then stfu cuz you have ZERO idea of how t.p. sounds. If someboy copyed something from, thats pendulum copying prodigy.
Now, this album it may be not his best, but it sounds between music from the gilted generation and fat of the land, with yes, some cheese traks in the middle, the ones that you can say are close to pendulum. Not saying that pendulum are bad or anything, but are NOT the prodigy -they wish-

Anyways, i liked the album, much better than his last one. Traks like omen or thunder are new classics : D

    what #45 said

this is the same as the 320kbps rip

the 320kbps had a poor source (some 128kbps wma or something) and this one from xxl is sourced from the 320kbps (notice same audio glitch @ 1m35s)

just wait for a decent group (like DV8) to release this (using the same settings for encoding that xxl, used which are just fine, but using a retail cda as source)

that being said, shame on xxl, they were a major mp3 group in the past

What a horrible album, experienced=>jilted=>fat of the land were very progressive and so full of energy. The only thing since has been baby got a temper. Every album since has been dull, boring and crap. Dirtchamber, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned and now this? All the good music left since Leeroy Thornhill left. This album sounds like someone with a really bad synth trying to rip off the prodigy. Retire already.

I've had the privilege of performing on the same lineup as
these guys 3 times over the years, their on-stage presence
and live show is yet to be surpassed in the Dance scene.
Must say some of these tracks certainly use a similar synth
line to that a number of other producers (ie Pendulum) have
utilised – doesn't mean Liam Howlett nicked the sound, just
used the same program…how many ppl use the 'Beltram Hoover'
or 'Amen Break' he same way? ReSpeCt to Tha Prodigy!

@31: You obviously never listened Pendulum before.. Pendulum sounds nothing like Prodigy. Yeah maybe they got some elements that Prodigy uses but nowadays everyone uses them. That doesn't mean all the EDM artists are copying Prodigy. Those sounds and techniques are the Industry Standards. And you obviously didn't listened the whole album. Don't be a jackass.

@32: Yeah, I know the whole "Progression" thing.. but using the same kick and snare with the same D&B lead that Pendulum uses is kinda copying. Listen to some Pendulum tracks and then listen to IMD again. You'll understand what I'm talking about. The simplest example would be the Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix) vs. Invaders Must Die.

@37: I just loled. I produce music. Besides I've been listening to EDM since I was a kid. I can guarantee you I know lots of stuff about this genre. Don't assume anything when you don't know a thing about the person that you are writing about. Moron.

Listen people! I'm not saying Prodigy sucks or anything! I've been listening Prodigy since they first came out. I simply love them. Liam is a genius, no argue there. And I can say they were the ones created the "Big Beat" genre with among others like Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers, Propellerheads etc. but this doesn't prove that Prodigy stole the Pendulum sound on this album. Not all the tracks sound like Pendulum of course. Just saying.
