Here is a mini-series that premiered on Starz network tonight called “The Pillars of the Earth”. Donald Sutherland is one of the stars of this miniseries based on the novel by Ken Follett. Set in 12th-century England in the fictional town of Kingsbridge, this story centers around the 40-year process of building a cathedral and follows the lives of three men over those decades as they each deal with politics, war, romance, and personal ambition.

The succession to the crown of England is in doubt and causes King Henry’s daughter and nephew to compete for the throne. Tom, son Alfred and stepson Jack get the chance to build a new cathedral in Kingsbridge.

    im being teased cause the MS download is not working..i know it will soon though but i wanna take a shower and have the show ready to watch but MS is doing that thing where it wont let you download the file at the moment for one reason or another..oh well…let me try again..i heard this was a really good book…we shall see

    This is an 8 part mini series based on the best selling novel of the same name. Part 1 and Part 2 aired on Friday July 23 2010 and the rest will follow one episode at a time every Friday on the Starz channel.

    Just hoping that Part 1 & Part 2 will be released by the release group very shorty in Xvid version.

    You could download the 720p version and just convert it to xvid…easy enough…at least if you wanna just do Part 1 that way…I’m sure they’ll be released later tonight though…or at least I hope…

    At this point can someone who’s downloaded the 720p version just convert it to .avi (xvid) format, and upload it somewhere? Normally I would just download myself and do that but I don’t really feel like downloading a 1.5GB file at the moment…

    Thanks for your comments. I have previously downloaded and played mkv files with my AC Ryan player. Somehow, the mkv files of this particular mini series will not play. Are these two mkv files different from the others? Please advise.

    As someone pointed out, the ST of Part 1 (begins with “Previously on ‘The Pillars of the Earth’”!!!) seems to be the ST of Part 2. This is on the “xvid-lol.proper.avi” version. I assume that it was downconverted from the “x264-IMMERSE.mkv” version, so is the problem there in all versions.

    Is there no one actually watching these files and noticing this? I’m not going to bother with Part 2 if there’s a similar issue with the ST…
