More The Office madness with Steve Carell. I enjoyed last weeks episode, although it become a little too drawn-out. It did have its good moments, such as the ‘plasma tv reveal’. On a second note I’m wondering when the TV scene rules are going to change to ban segmenting. I’d rather have quality over speed, and so the ‘good’ groups are all speaking out in their NFOs. Time for an update.

The Chair Model: Michael becomes enamored with an office supply catalog model. Meanwhile, Andy and Kevin fight to earn back the Dunder Mifflin parking spaces that were taken by other businesses in their building.

    Why are they labeling it with a US tag? The british version of the office died off in ‘06.

    Last week’s episode was just about as perfect as you could ask for. The series itself is meant to be squirm inducing, and last week’s had it in spades.

    I BELIEVE he’s referring how it’s put in multiple .rar files instead of just having one .avi file, then again, that really doesn’t have a change in quality, so he may be referring to something else, someone please correct me if so.

    The non-American series of the Office is ENGLISH; not Welsh or Scottish but ENGLISH. Don’t say British.

    For those asking what’s segmenting, check out any one of group NOsegmenT’s NFOs. They explain segmenting pretty well.

    Segmenting is whereby you record a tv show and press stop when the adbreak comes on, then encode that, whilst its encoding you press record to record the next part of the tv show after the commericial break, once the encode for the 1st part is done you upload it to an ftp even when the show is still airing and do this for each segment of the show then run a script to merge the .avi’s together into 1. This often results in shows going out of sync after commercial breaks, which happens quite often. Also you have to predict how long each section of the show will be e.g 9mins for segment 1, 13mins for egment 2 and then choose a filesize e.g 70mb for section 1 and 104mb for section 2. You need to know the length before hand in order to choose the correct filesize, otherwise you may have some sections with 650 bitrate and others with 1050 which is uneven and ruins caps. Shows aren’t always the same length each week and 1-off shows are impossible to predict.

    i absolutely love both the british and american versions of the office. but anyone who thinks the british version “sucks” is an idiot, because ricky gervais is a frickin genius.

    also, he co-writes the american version, so don’t pretend that steve carell is hilarious because of excellent american script writing.

    Go search on the internet for this show since 4 years, you’ll find comments on every episode on how uk version is better than the us one (or the contrary), geez…

    Anyway, as always DiMENSiON rocks, if only all the other groups would deliver the same quality as they do…

    @38 he co-wrote what episodes??? please specify. last i heard, hes a producer and RARELY writes anything for the show. they wrote one episode, so to call him a “writer” for the show is going a bit far. he helps out occasionally, and co-wrote one episode
