    What so they only write and record the show a couple of weeks in advance? I thought they did the whole season in one go

    @ # 16 are you serious?
    the show is over.
    for good.
    almost half of the main characters were writers (toby, ryan, kelly, to name a few) how can the show start up again when the writers were the actors.
    its over for good.
    R.I.P.

    @21

    Are you really that daft?

    The show isn’t over for good. The writers are on strike over the money they feel they are owed on ‘new media’. What they mean by ‘new media’ is DVD sales and internet downloads. Currently the writers are compensated when their show goes into syndication, and the studios are the only ones who see revenue from dvd sales and internet downloads. The writers want a piece of that pie, and probably deserver SOME of it.

    The studios and writers guild WILL eventually come back to the table to negotiate a settlement. But RIGHT now the studios aren’t rushing to do so. Why? Because a lot of shows were about to be going on winter break anyway. The studios were planning for this and so they aren’t really losing anything right now. But come time for ‘new’ shows to be on, the advertisers aren’t going to be interested in paying top dollar for ad time and then the studios will start to feel the pinch. When they do, you can bet they will be calling the writers to settle.

    As soon as it’s settled you can bet NBC will be doing any and everything they can to get The Office back on the air. It’s one of their few successful shows left, they can’t afford to lose it for good right now.

    Anyone know where I can get RS links of Earl, Scrubs, 30 Rock and Smallville.

    Screwy net connection means Rapidshare is my only stable download option for the next week or so.

    The Earl RS links listed earlier in this thread fail when I unpack them.

    i guess i am daft when the show’s actors and producers both announce that the show is over for good, as you notice other shows (colbert report, conan etc) are playing reruns but never announced their show was over, face it the office is over for good
