The Mist CAM XViD-CAMERA

Another CAMERA release, comes shooting out of The Scene today and this time its for the Horror movie The Mist or more specifically known as in its complete name; Stephen King’s The Mist. This is an adoptation of Stephen Kings novel of the same name so it should be bone chillingly scary. This release isn’t as good quality wise as some of CAMERA’s previous work but its definitely sufficient. Although because there is a large amount of fog and mist scenes the CAM recording doesn’t capture them well. This movie probably a bump up in quality in order to watch it right.

Plot: Three-time Oscar®-nominee Frank Darabont (”The Green Mile,” “The Shawshank Redemption”) reunites with horror-master Stephen King to write and direct this chilling adaptation of the author’s original short story. Following a violent thunderstorm, artist David Drayton and a small town community come under vicious attack from creatures prowling in a thick and unnatural mist. Local rumors point to an experiment called the ‘The Arrowhead Project’ conducted at a nearby top-secret military base, but questions as to the origins of the deadly vapor are secondary to the group’s overall chances for survival. Retreating to a local supermarket, Drayton and the survivors must face-off against each other before taking a united stand against an enemy they cannot even see!

…hope this is more like 1408 than the rest of the recent SK adaptations….

..and by that I mean I hope it dosent suck.

..the short story is quite good, and is probably one of my favourite SK short stories..

…one has to wonder though how a CAM is gonna handle all that mist/fog….

@ 2 a CAM is never good, don’t know why they even bother to release them now. Most people who actually like movies dot ruin the movie by watching crap CAMS.
Just to be first to say I’ve seen it (or some of it), and same for release groups (I released it first). Ban CAMS I say.

Well, I don’t care what anyone says, this movie was INCREADIBLE. One of the biggest twist endings you’ll see in your life. But over all, just great. Don’t waste your time with a cam; see it in the theaters.

Cams, as I see it, are a kind of preview: to regard as channels for, if you want to have the particular movie in a future better release. And of course, nobody watches them on their big screen at home, but on laptops.

Personally I’ll watch a cam on my IPOD video on a two-and-a-half inch screen, but that’s only if I can’t wait any longer. I watched Shoot’Em Up cam version on my IPOD and it wasn’t that bad, but really patience is a virtue. We all know a better release is coming. Well, except Death Sentence. The DVD is set to be released January 8th, 2008 and all that’s been released is a real bad, I mean really, really bad REPACKed Cam version. Oh, well. TRON out.

@ 15 watching cams on a HDTV??? lol what a mess it looks on a big screen TV! and you mention HDTV like it going to be any better ..lol
Best way (if anybody really wants to ) is on a small screen CRT TV is best.

This was a great short story that I read many years ago. Darabont produced some great adaptions of King’s Green Mile and Shawshank and after that pile of crap that was 1408, hopefully this will be a return to form.

you’re saying 1408 *didn’t* suck? OMG, it was horrid!, one of the worst movies in recent memory, as are 99% of the movies based on Stephen King’s books of course, especially the made for tv ones. I’ll give this a shot anyway though, as i just like to watch any horror/suspense movie, even though it does seem like an obvious ripoff of The Fog.

“The Fog” is a completely different story, and rather stupid at that. The Fog movies were bunk as well. “The Mist” was written by King in like 1980 as a novella in the Skeleton Crew collection. He’s never ripped off anyone. The Mist is an original story, trust me.

lol, I don’t get why the guys that say ban cams etc. Come into the comments to post about a cam that they arn’t going to download in the first place, seems like a waist of time to me. If you aren’t going to download something, why click on the comments link to talk about something you care nothing about…. Watched the sample.. Looks alright for a cam, I have seen much worse…

Wouldn’t rlslog be more enjoyable if we didn’t have to sift through cams all the time and just know right when at least a good telesync pops up? Wouldn’t you staff members like to spend less time posting about stuff that will never be as well received or downloaded as its higher quality counterparts?

Galus: It’s called RLSLOG for a reason, it covers RELEASES, which span the whole scene, APPS/GAMES/MOVIES/MUSIC/TV SHOWS (CAM/TS/TC/R5/DVDSCR/DVDRip) and look on the left, they even put them into sections for you. Would you ask nforce.nl not to cover cams, etc? I am going to download this CAM for your info, just like the few others I’ve grabbed that were extremely watchable (ie. Comebacks CAM from CAMERA). And as for “higher quality” counterparts? Like what? There really isn’t anything that’s come out lately, hence why they post Internal dvdrips of older movies sometimes.

Video is pretty good, typical CAM sound. Only problem, looks like it’s missing frames. Not bad like Superbad from mVs or Beowulf but still looks like it.

    November 25th, 2007 | 20:05

Kurt is obviously either very young or a little “dim” lol!

One more note on it’s originality –

In addition to this movie, we also have to thank this nearly 30yr old short story for a very popular video game series (Half Life)that is still being upgraded and modified.

Great movie, follows the book very closely until the end. I personally was shocked and horrified beyond belief by the ending, at first angry that he original story I loved had been changed, but now I actually kinda like the ending. And to “Kush”, yes he is painting Roland from the Dark Tower. And if you noticed, Drayton is a “famous movie poster artist”, as mentioned shortly after the hoopla starts in the supermarket.

I think Drayton, being a movie poster artist, painting Roland of Gilead from the Dark Tower series is a very nice hint that the Dark Tower books will finally be made into movies, and I for one am ecstatic. Finally, the ULTIMATE fantasy story will come to the big screen, and will kick LOTR’s butt out of the #1 fantasy/adventure films of all time. I can’t wait to see who gets to play Roland. I still say it should be Clint Eastwood, he’s about the right age for it now anyways…

    @heywood jahblowme

..i was saying that 1408 was a step up when compared to utter dross like “storm of the century” and “desperation”, and i did quite like it…

..it`s nothing on The Shining or Carrie though i admit.

agree to Whooo: great movie! first i was a bit disappointed too, as the (open) ending of the original story was a bit extended… but, hell, it’s far more depressing now… and closed, too. can’t wait for a r5, although this camrip really was watchable.

Found this listed at Piratebay, but I am a little leery at downloading it as the sample they gave is nothing more then an interview with the director and IGN clearly marked in the lower right hand corner. It is 48 files at 14mb each file and claims to be the R5 version.

Here is the name if anyone wants to try it

    The Mist R5 XViD mVs

I would but I am a tad burned out on items like this as I have spent over 5 days downloading three different ones (National Treasure 2- AvP-r -and Alvin and each time I got a passworded hunk of crap that my AVG went nuts on saying the exe that I was suppose to click on to get my password was a trojan, while this has no such items. I am still a touch on the defense as I dont want to wast my time and have it come back as something different.
