Plot : Three-time Oscar-nominee Frank Darabont reunites with horror-master Stephen King to write and direct this chilling adaptation of the author’s original short story. Following a violent thunderstorm, artist David Drayton and a small town community come under vicious attack from creatures prowling in a thick and unnatural mist. Local rumors point to an experiment called the ‘The Arrowhead Project’ conducted at a nearby top-secret military base, but questions as to the origins of the deadly vapor are secondary to the group’s overall chances for survival. Retreating to a local supermarket, Drayton and the survivors must face-off against each other before taking a united stand against an enemy they cannot even see!

liked this movie but didnt like the ending.
Very good movie, worth download.
This movie got some great reviews but as it was written by Stephen King I predicted what would happen. Some good suspense let down by some characters frankly bizarre reactions (religion especially) and the ending was crap.
Worth a download as others seemed to love the movie for the reasons I didn’t so opinion is mixed.
This is worth watching just for the ending.

back on topic, anybody know how i can play these now i have a code that lets me play it on wmp11 but it skips and pauses alot (that was street kings 720p) and when i converted it to avi (10+ hour process) and put it on a disk it played on my xbox but still skipped
the events in the ending were GREAT, but it was told far to hasty!
I must have seen another version of The Mist. If this hadn’t got the Stephen king fan boys raving about it , it would be judged as a very average B movie, with possibly one of the corniest worst endings i have ever seen.
Interesting scary movie, worth a watch.

Seen this in the cinema, only worth watching for the ending, for the rest, the characters are plain annoying and frankly pretty stupid, and it’s one big religious indoctrination fest.
The ending makes up for it a LITTLE bit, but as it’s only 5 good minutes, this may well waste 126 minutes of yer life you’ll never get back.

This is one of the worst sci-fi movies ever made, the script sucks, the acting sucks, the special efects look like they were created in 1995. Afful… Even “Meet the spartans” is better than this

CoreAVC is a good x264 decoder for old computers. This movie has some of the most ridiculous characters I’ve ever seen and the acting was far from acceptable. The monsters were okay and the ending was okay. I downloaded this over a week ago. Super slow post.

@22 -I totally agree. I have been reading comments about this release and I am STUNNED!! This is one of the worst films of the year besides The Happening. Acting is horrible, script is atrocious! I felt personally insulted by the ending. Jack, if this is the greatest movie you have ever seen - YOU ARE A MORON! Furthermore, I will think twice in the future about watching any movies you recommend here.
One of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time way better than that awful Cloverfield movie which was one of the worst films ever.

Some of the movie is good and the ‘mist’ is used well as a way of keeping you off guard.
But if you are not a fan of the way Stephen King seems to write a lot of his stories with bizarre religious people and bleak endings then you may be disappointed. I’m from the UK and just don’t get why they didn’t just smack the nutty cow over the head with a tin of beans the minute she started with her doom-mongering.

awesome movie, really underated too. People whine over the ending just because it isnt the typical “yay we are saved”-type.
I’ve read all his books and seen all the film adaptations, although I’m a huge Stephen King fan I have to agree that his endings are usually pretty much a disappointment (except Insomnia which was fab). I’m still going to watch this tonight even though I already known that the fight between good and evil / God & Devil will spoil it for me at the end lol.
(rlslog diverts me to an ad for online videos every 4-5 page views, it’s a total pain in the ass! I’d rather click a link to enter the site than be sent elsewhere every 10 mins)

This is a decent adaptation of the novella, right up to the lousy ending that changes everything. If you are a fan of the original story, you will be disgusted with how they changed the ending. This is the version I would really like to see but it seems to be impossible to find on any torrent search engine.

I read somewhere that the ending is not what Stephen King wrote and that he thought the ending of the movie was much better than his version.
The ending doesn’t suck…just because it make you go “WTF!” and your jaws drop even after a week doesn’t mean it sucks…it’s good directors making a memorable ending…

GOOD ending ? With some dinosaurs ? This adaptation on screen is TERRIBLE , I was really disapointed, like with almost every S King’s stories that are adapted for the big screen….
some people make me sick its true americans really believe in hollywood endings and when they are different like the ending of the mist they slag it off this film was directed by the same bloke that did shawshank another great example of superor film makig
@49 I don’t think people are referring to the “dinosaurs” as the reason why its a good ending. You’ve missed the point totally, or probably not seen the ending at all. The reason why the ending is good is because it ends on a depressing note, the father shoots his son dead and then has to live with this. Not something which happens in everyday hollywood films.

You just don’t get it, the guy has no idea that they’ll be rescued, so for him its a choice of a quick bullet to the head or a slow painful death, the father is doing what he thinks is best for his friends and family.
Seriously some of you thought this was a good film, christ i watched it for its comedy value nothing. Predictable to the MAX.

They should’ve at LEAST waited till a bug or something had seen them in the car and started attacking the car to get inside before having papa blow out their brains.
@55 yeah in the cold light of day, the ending might seem silly. But rational thought goes out of the window in extreme situations, look what happened in Abu Ghraib, in my opinion those soldiers were good people, but they went loopy because of the stress and situation they were in. Thats why the ending makes sense for me

I enjoyed it for what it was worth. People expect too much out of horrors and can’t enjoy murder and death for what they’re designed to be on screen for: simple entertainment.
If you expect a lot out of Stephen King movies and aren’t watching Tommyknockers or Rose Red you’ll disappoint yourself every time.

Great?!! It’s one of the worst movie I’ve ever seen. specially the end of the movie. You are wrong about the meaning of SUCK if you didn’t see this movie.
Synopsis
This guy eats a big meal of boiled cabbage, beans and curried eggs. He goes to bed and has a restless night tossing and turning and frequently breaking wind. When he wakes in the morning there is a strange noxious mist all around him and the local town.
Outside he hears people yelling things like phew, fark, damn that’s nasty & what the hell is this damn stuff.
Soon the wild life starts to have birth defects from inhaling the mist and the offspring are odd looking.
Finally the mist clears and the guy makes a break for it before the townsfolk come looking for him. In the final scene he is alone in his car cranking one out when without notice he farts and he quickly succumbs to …… The Mist
Quite a good movie, but true to form Steven King cuts his own throat by finishing the movie “with a typically feeble ending!”
