Group BiFOS brings us a DVDrip of The Midnight Meat Train (Even though they spelt it wrong in their release), downside to this release is that its hard subbed with korean subtitles. There were a few R5 versions of this movie released about 1 month ago now (Here and here for those posts) but those 2 were apparently slightly out of sync in several parts of the movie.

When Leon Kaufman’s (Bradley Cooper) latest body of work – a collection of provocative, nighttime studies of the city and its inhabitants — earns the struggling photographer interest from prominent art gallerist Susan Hoff (Brooke Shields), she propels him to get grittier and show the darker side of humanity for his upcoming debut at her downtown art space. Believing he’s finally on track for success, Leon’s obsessive pursuit of dark subject matter leads him into the path of a serial killer, Mahogany (Vinnie Jones), the subway murderer who stalks late-night commuters — ultimately butchering them in the most gruesome ways imaginable. With his concerned girlfriend Maya (Leslie Bibb) fearing for his life, Leon’s relentless fascination with Mahogany lures him further and further into the bowels of the subways and ultimately into an abyss of pure evil – inadvertently pulling Maya right along with him.

    Gotta agree with PearlJamAussie – this is an awful film. The sub-plot with the girlfriend wasn’t in the book and isn’t needed here. The special effects range from really bad to even worse, and Vinnie Jones is completely wasted with bugger all to do.

    If you are looking for a good horror film, this is not it.

    Yeah, after I read the short story I thought “seriously?” when they announced there was gonna be a movie. Just doesn’t work as one.

    I really liked Meat Train all the way up to the ending. That particular twist was not needed.

    Maybe if you bothered to read my blub in the post you would have noticed that i said the release group BiFOS released it with the name “The Midnight MEET Train” instead of “The Midnight MEAT train” and then there is an update for the DIRFIX….

    To be honest although I like the actors cast in this movie – the director & screenwirtier did a bad job on this movie. It lacks on suspense, on storyline and other things. Well, so its just
    an usual dumb horror flick with wasted potential.

    Well, maybe the new young generation is so dumb that dumb movies will make them happy.

    i was heavily disappointed when i saw this flick. it’s nearly 15 years ago that i’ve read the books of blood, and the mifnight meat train was one of my favorite stories… i agree with Guns1inger, the subplot is completely unnecessary.i think, it would have worked better as a 1hshort or so… perhaps in the masters of horror series?
