The Machinist DVDRip XviD-FB / The Machinist 2004 720p HDDVD x264-SiNNERS

We’ve had a great two days here with some top releases, but it’s been quite a slow Sunday and I thought maybe it’s time for a new pick. So, I present you with my humble staff pick to possibly introduce you to something new or at least give you a new topic for discussion. My pick this time will be appreciated by fans of Christian Bale the most. As evident by this film, Mr. Bale’s dedication to his movie roles are unsurpassed. He has gone down from 180 pounds to 120 pounds for his part in this 2004 film, before gaining it all back and then some for his buff superhero role of Batman in “Batman Begins” just a year after. Yes, the skeleton in the picture is no other than Bale himself. About the movie, it is a well received mystery thriller that has a very cool tone to it. This will be a great watch for open minded people who like the genre. For your viewing pleasure, I’ve added a torrent link for the HDRip along with the NFO. Take notice that the HDRip is 3 minutes longer, not sure why. Enjoy!

Synopsis: Trevor Reznik, a machinist, has lost the ability to sleep. But this is no ordinary insomnia. Trevor has not slept in a year. Fatigue has led to a shocking deterioration of his physical and mental health. Suspicious of his appearance, Trevor’s co-workers first shy away from him, then turn against him after he’s involved in a shop accident that costs a man his arm. They blame Trevor for the accident. He has become a liability to himself and others, and now they want him out. Plagued with guilt, Trevor’s shame becomes suspicion, then paranoia, when it appears his workmates are conspiring to have him fired –- or worse. First he finds cryptic notes left in his apartment. Next he’s told that a mysterious co-worker involved in the accident doesn’t exist. Are these mysteries part of a plot to drive Trevor mad? Or is it fatigue that’s robbing him of his reason? Determined to find an answer, Trevor investigates the strange occurrences that are turning his world into a sleepless nightmare. Yet the more he learns, the less he wants to know.

An excellent choice. Great movie. Bales weight loss is absolutely incredible for the role. He appears to do it again in Rescue Dawn too. Brilliant how he finally gets to sleep at the end, and you find out whats been going on. The director had to go to Spain to get funding for this movie as nowhere else would back it. An undiscovered cinema gem. And lost on most of the popcorn munching majority out there.

I found this a tough one to watch as I could not get over how emaciated he looked.

Lucky that in such high rez you can mess with the aspect ratio and make him look fat.

I thought this film was boring. It wasn’t that the film was bad, or the acting, not at all, christian bale is one of the best actors in movies today.

it’s just that the storyline was so random and, completely un interesting I turned it off, it holds the premise of watching a film about “how insects would behave if they were human”.

just, random, and I didn’t care about anything this movie had to offer. It didn’t hold me in a tight grip like No Country did, just made me yawn.

Bale is going to be in the next Terminator movie as Shawn Conners.
Fight for the Future or something along that line in 2010

    February 25th, 2008 | 02:17

Producers felt pity for Christian Bale’s malnourishment for not having films lately hence no livelihood & so the cause of his condition :)

  40. Very Nice
    February 25th, 2008 | 02:35

‘The Machinist’ (usa2004) is a good choice of yours as a staff pick movie. I have seen it back in 2004 and have thouroughly enjoyed it. I do actually enjoy most of the productions that Christian Bale is part of.

Thanks for a reasonably sized 720p AND a even more reasonably sized 2cd release with maximum horizontal res of 720px (720*320)! I hope DVDRips with 720 horizontal pixels are going to be more common in the near future.

    But thanks anyway!

got a question are the hdrip formats bin/cue or avi?

  49. da man
    February 25th, 2008 | 14:25

difference in length is due to one with PAL speedup (4% faster) to get to 25fps and the other at 23.976fps, the video content should be the same.

The Machinist is an absolutely brilliant movie, you owe to yourself to see it. The story is smart yet heart breaking, and the acting is top-notch, especially on Bale’s part as he delivers as usual..

In the theater when I first saw it, people at the end really felt for Reznik, I saw some even shedding tears for how the way events turned out to unfold. See it with your brain fully working, and pay attention to details, and you’ll have a great movie experience.
