Its vision of early America, as it was during the French and Indian War, is captured in its utter brutality and beauty, complete with the many driving ambitions and clashing cultures of everyone involved. British and French troops do battle in colonial America, with aid from various native American war parties. The British troops enlist the help of local colonial militia men, who are reluctant to leave their homes undefended. A budding romance between a British officer’s daughter and an independent man who was reared as a Mohawk complicates things for the British officer, as the adopted Mohawk pursues his own agenda despite the wrath of different people on both sides of the conflict.

    Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto ripped off a lot from this great movie. Not only did he steal some of the plot, but he mimics Michael Mann’s camera and directorial style.

    @21 – Tito has admitted that he got the links from somewhere else. I’m just glad that I can find all sorts of useful links and info here. Thanks RLSlog!
    It’s interesting that the first CD is 1h07m long, and the second CD is only 40 minutes long. My guess, the best and most pivotal action scenes are in the second CD — better bitrate ?

    I watched this movie when it first came out, watched it again last nite. Still is a great show. Thanks RLSlog!

    I must have watched a different show than Blackdeath as I did not see any blacks, pigs or lynching. Perhaps he linked to the wrong torrent? X).
