The Last Legion R5 XViD-PUKKA

This looks like an awesome movie published today by popular group PUKKA. This movie doesn’t hit American cinema until August..but you can see it now in near-perfect DVD quality. Looks like an awesome cast, especially if you followed Rome on HBO, which featured some of the same actors. If you are into action adventure, then this release should put a smile on your face. As a side note, I am not sure how much historical accuracy is here not just in terms of storyline but overall time frame. From the nfo included we see this movie also has a healthy budget–> “This movie has a budget of $67,000,000 and doesnt go USA\UK wide release until August 2007 !!! Enjoy this 3 month R5 pre. ”

The quality here is amazing considering the advantage you have against U.S. cinemas. Audio and video appear fantastic.

As the Roman empire crumbles, young Romulus Augustus (Thomas Sangster) flees the city and embarks on a perilous voyage to Britain to track down a legion of supporters.

    Pukka normally has good video quality on their R5’s but their audio is always lacking. I hate that annoying hissing sounds. Either way tho I appreciate it. Here’s to hoping the audio in this one is close to the video :)

    May 17th, 2007 | 05:56

    Wait, aren’t “narcs” narcotics officers? Wtf are they doing prowling the net for pirates?

    @Rom
    I thought that too, it does look like “Rome”. The sets for “Rome” were beautiful, and they are the largest period sets ever constructed. Over five acres, I think. “Rome” was a costly show to make, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the producers rented the sets out.

  28. FaJu
    May 17th, 2007 | 06:00

    Ahh, Kevin McKidd (Vorenus) is in The Last Legion as well. He wouldn’t have to go far to shoot both Rome and LL. That makes sense.

  29. May 17th, 2007 | 06:11

    ill watch but ill first wait for subs

  30. May 17th, 2007 | 06:26

    Quality not as DVD, but VERY good. Audio is surprisingly good, i was expecting that R5 mono hissing sound!

  37. May 17th, 2007 | 11:46

    Nice job there rabb1t, people often forget to thank for the post and continue with discussing whether the movie is worth downloading or not. From the samples judging, it looks rather good, like any R5 has up until now. Too bad I had a hard time finding a trailer for this, I guess none is out yet since it’s will actually be releases in August. Oh well, just keep up teh good work :D

    I’ve been seeding all night just to find out that a file is missing and another is corrupt

    Where are the missing files??
    The.Last.Legion.R5.XViD-PUKKA\p-tll\p-tll.r00: The required volume is absent
    The.Last.Legion.R5.XViD-PUKKA\p-tll\p-tll.rar: CRC failed in p-tll.avi. The file is corrupt

  42. May 17th, 2007 | 14:27

    Guys… if you are so worried about narcs and getting a fine/sued, why don’t you just get the nzb? Faster, easier and you do not have to seed, ever. Get a movie in 5-6 minutes (700mb) or even faster. It took me 3 min to get this movie in xvid, and 30 min to grab the full R5 DVD (4,6 GB)

    So be smart, and do it fast. NZB’s are your friend

    oh, and by the way, this movie is abysmal, and not worth your time (unless, as one critic writes, you are 10 years old)

    One more thing , nzbs are usually up way earlier than the .torrent files :)

    For download i recommend the free NZB-O-Matic v 0.43

  43. May 17th, 2007 | 14:49

    I like to use the usenet as well… never heard of NZB-O-Matic though, Im using GrabIt (shemes.com). Usually its by far the best way to download stuff, indeed you do not need to feel suspicious about being logged/tracked down since everything you download with .nzb files will come offa online servers and you’re not dependent on seeds/peers. This will ensure proper/stable speeds. The only negative aspect to my concern is the rentention time of each post (= the amount of time a whole post of data will be kept on a server before getting whiped). If you want to find out more about the usenet (aka newsgroups) then checkout binaries4all.com. oblodo, if you have some tips and tricks for me, please hand some out, cause I get pretty good speeds, but Gigabites within minutes is new to me lol.

    This movie is so B A D!!! I want my time back :(

    May 17th, 2007 | 15:07

    Wow Aishwarya Rai!!!

  46. May 17th, 2007 | 17:05

    @wickido

    It all depends on your own speed…. 100mb/s is a charm ;)

    I use Usenetserver.com since they have 101 days retention of files, and good search tools. I always get max speed, and love it. There are so many clients, but NZB-O-Matic is very simple for newbies to use. But loads of ISP’s where I live have binaries groups, and they are free. My ISP does not atm, so thats why I fork up the $10 a month to Usenetserver.com

    Oh, one more thing.. FTP’s are the best, if they are on a gigabit net :) The FTP servers I have access to are on rather slow 10mb/s, so I do not use them for fast “must have” stuff, like tv series and so on. But for 0-day and games they are fine to use. Most of my friends use http://www.orlydb.com/ to see what official “scene” releases there is atm. This place is just for fun, and I love the comments about number of seeders, since no torrents are seeded from this site.. EVER… it’s also fun to see Mike and Martins view of the world. I remember being young, so its quite amusing. But its a fine and dandy site, so I have no complaints.

    Other then being a Russian DVD,what is the significant difference of the R5’s to a regular DVD

  48. May 17th, 2007 | 18:19

    Ah oblodo, thnx for elaborating on that… guess it isnt GrabIt, cause that program handles .nzb’s pro-style. I must be the free ISP-newsgroup which doesnt give me MB/s just alot kB/s (range 200/300-700/800 kB/s).

    Im not always eager to get stuff as first, so Ill guess it doesn’t hurt to stick with free, though for people who want first things first, it wouldn’t be a waste to spend some on a fine usenetserver.

    @rick5446:
    It’s all described at http://www.rlslog.net/movie-sources/
    “There is little to no cleanup of the film after the telecine process. As a result, you can see some scratches, hairs or other mess on the picture, but you will hardly notice it while watching. External English audio is often used, as these are supplied with Russian sound by default.”

    Just watched it, and regreted it. Poor conceived myth, conflating authurian myth with bastardized history fantasy. I don’t know why they even bother, the real history was so much better.

    Merlin? yeah whatever. Poorly researched poorly acted crap. Even as a fantasy it sucked. I’ll be glad to clear up my disk on this one. Just my opinion.

    @ RIck…the difference is audio while the R5 uses DvD Quality video source it usually comes with no audio so they use a subpar audio source to fill in…with R5’s you never know what the audio will be like…usually pretty crappy although for such high video pic Its worth it…

  51. May 17th, 2007 | 21:54

    i like these type films,will be d/l this after WILLOW , I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP BITCHING,do they not know it is FREE,tks again.

    very good release, but the film is for kids and teens. nowhere near as visceral and compelling as the hbo series rome, and not one for the discerning adult.
